We usually shop at our local Green Acres in Folsom or Citrus Heights. Today, however, we were looking for a large tree box that is bigger than our wing span and my age can't carry or lift it. our store was out of. We found the box and brought the tag up to the front to check out. The cashier was waiting for payment. I asked if someone was going to bring it up to the front and she said no we would have to go back and get it. She said no one is available to help us. They are working the tree lot. We scoffed. And said that's unbelievable that no one is here to help. She snarky apologized and in her sarcastic voice wishing us merry Christmas and so on. She didn't attempt to find someone to help us. Loved this garden center! I grew up going to the nursery with my parents, picking out a plant or fruit tree. They have very few nurseries left in my in my area... The sad cost of "progress" and putting apartments in every possible field left anywhere. Nobody should be allowed to have this much fun with your clothes on... and in public! Wandering around peeking at all the trees shrubs, rose bushes, all the succulents and air plants was a real treat. This is one organized store, each aisle has overhanging signs and knowledgeable staff members to answer questions and point you in the right direction towards what you're looking for. I thought our Folsom Green Acres was great, until we went to this location on the same day. The Rocklin location had a much larger selection of low water usage perennials than the Folsom location did. Also, the plant organization seemed to be much clearer in Rocklin. In Folsom, there were annuals mixed in with the perennials, and in general, just more haphazard groupings. We bought a bunch of plants from this location, and despite not being able to plant them for a couple of weeks, they now seem to all be thriving. The one negative was an Olympia hybrid tea rose we bought. We had one we'd picked up 3-4 years ago from one of the big, online rose companies. We assumed an Olympia was an Olympia was an Olympia. But apparently not, as this one is significantly different from ours (flowers don't hold their shape or color nearly as well, and even the leaves appear different). Oh, well, can't win 'em all. read more

I have never seen such a beautiful selection of poinsettias. Every color, every size, every kind of pot. And they are all healthy and perfect. Been coming here ever since they opened and love this location! We like that it has plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of their parking lot. While we love the OG location in Roseville and we live literally less than a mile we drive over to Rocklin just for the convenience. The employees are always super friendly and knowledgeable and if they don't know they always find out. We love the selection not only on plants but all other things outside. From patio furniture, soils, mulch, bbq's, everything under the sun for fertilizing plants, pottery and hard scapes. This is also a great place to to browse and get inspired fir all things gardening. Green Acres Nursery is THE best place to purchase quality plants and garden supplies. The customer service is outstanding, and they have an exceptional return policy for their products. The variety of outdoor plants is truly amazing. Whether you might be looking for something small to adorn your walkway, or for a tree that will provide you decades of shade, you absolutely will find anything and everything that you are looking for. I have shopped at several of their locations, and everything is consistent at all of them. This weekend's purchase was for some beautiful rose trees. Wandering through the outside, and looking at all of the different plants, trees, etc. it absolutely made it difficult to decide which of all the lovely plants I wanted to bring home. When I finally settled on the rose trees, one of the staff people came over and offered to place the trees in my basket, and asked me if I needed potting soil or anything else. He was super nice, and very helpful. I decided I wanted to go take a look at some of the indoor plants, and found myself looking at barbecue grills and patio furniture. All hopes for things that will be needed in the near future. The barbecue grills, patio furniture, windchimes etc. were begging to be purchased, and it was sad to tell them no this time. So I quickly went over to look at some of the indoor plants, and decided that as beautiful as they are, that I needed to stick with my beautiful rose trees. One of my all-time favorite things that I purchase annually from Green acres are the ladybugs. I absolutely love early spring, when I purchase hundreds of them for my garden. They always give me hope, and add happiness to my garden. Wear masks. I shop all the green acres locations. I was stunned to see an Employee in the inside section not wearing a mask in this one. Not even outside. Inside. Not just taking it off to scratch his nose or catch his breath. It was under his Chin and he was in full blown conversation with customers. I also saw many customers with it also under their chin. It's January. Case numbers are sky rocketing. Businesses need to do their part so we can go back to normal. Safe to say I'll be shying away from this GA in the future I'd previously have given this store 4 - 5 stars, wonderful atmosphere beautiful plants. Buyer beware. We have been a loyal customer of Green acres for the past year and a half since we moved to Lincoln at both their locations. We have spent literally thousands of dollars on plants and accessories. I must say that up until this last visit we have always gotten good customer service and been very satisfied with their products. However, I was shocked when we returned a house plant that we purchased 4 to 5 months ago that was near death. We were informed by the cashier who was nice about it that they do not guarantee house plants. I tried to explain to her, and then the manager that this plant had been acting up from the very first week, I also stated that we had bought several other house plants that are doing fantastic. Basically she nor the manager could have cared less. Extremely poor attitude. If I had bought it from Home Depot they would've taken it back. No questions asked. A couple years ago we accidentally came upon this location of Green Acres and were just wowed! Fast forward to 2020 and we now make a point to visit this nursery when ever we're close. It's unfortunate that most nurseries in the Bay Area have disappeared or reduced their services significantly. I have been to 3 other Green acres Nursery locations and this one is by far the best. The store is huge with a lot of different selections of flowers, trees, shrubs and even outdoor furniture! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and well laid out. They have a huge selection of indoor houseplants, which I loved. I always enjoy buying flowers from Green Acres because i just feel like the quality is so much better than Home Depot or Lowes. The prices are reasonable too! read more

I just got done with a visit to this green acres in Rocklin... Will never come here again... Talk about age discrimination with customer service. There was like 3 to 4 guys putting pumpkins out in the back this cute blonde bimbo type girl comes over there and they're like all over her asking if she needs help I'm standing there for like 15 or 20 minutes wanting to get a pumpkin That's covered by larger pumpkins, but I can't move them... Not once did any of them look my way or ask if they could help me... Other than that a nice looking store, those guys need to learn better customer service, and realize older people do you have money to spend. I've been skipping right past this store for the Roseville location. Roseville is more focused on plants while Rocklin is home and garden. But this weekend I checked it out, and was more than pleasantly surprised. The first day I found a calathea ornata (the one with the pinstripes that look hand painted) and I think I heard angels singing when I almost ran to them. Gorgeous and healthy with a big root growing out of the pot. Then I found a Hoya carnosa for $10 less than it would have been if I'd caved in and ordered it online. Then there was another plant I thought I could live without... but I was wrong so halfway home I called and asked if they could hold it for me til the next day. I spoke with Julia and she held my zig zag cactus for me. And of course I found more beautiful things so came home with; a lime maranta, a lemon lime peperomia obtusifolia, and a gold flame sansevieria in need of some shaping. I am giving three stars for balancing out the 5 star people and the 0 star people. The young lady out in the garden area could not have been more helpful in answering all my questions. The young lady at the front cashier was as sweet as could be. The two young guys that came to put my soil in the car could not have been less friendly had they tried. I said hello to the first guy and he didn't even respond to me so I said it again and then he barely squeaked out a hi. Another guy came to help him and I said thank you to both of them three times without any response. I then said good bye. No response. I then said I guess no one speaks around here. No response. Horrible attitudes. It is just so hard to believe that our world has come to this. Not too long ago one would have lost their job acting like that to customers. Was up in Rocklin today and checked out the new Green Acres Nursery. This company really is an asset to the Sacramento Valley. Their stores are stocked to the brim with anything you could possibly need or want for your garden. I am a regular customer at the Elk Grove location, but have checked out all 5 stores now. First time in and we definitely won't be back. My boyfriend and I came in around 6:30 this evening, not realizing they close at 7. At around 7:10 we had two workers come up to us and passive aggressively ask if we needed any help and then told us they were closed. We felt really bad that we were in there after closing, I was surprised that there was no announcement on the PA and no employees that came up to us beforehand to let us know. However, they assured us we could still buy the items we had in hand, which was just some seed packets and a trowel. Everyone stood around with their arms crossed glaring at us, and the girl who checked us out was SO rude. She was clearly angry we were there ten minutes late, and literally slammed and locked the automatic doors behind us as we left. As a retail worker myself I understand it's annoying when customers don't leave at closing, but it was a genuine mistake on our part as we had never been in the store before. They should've just asked us to leave and not checkout if this was going to irritate them so much. read more

Wow, management needs to get on this store. Drive here for an item that the Roseville store didn't have but said this location did. Arrived at the Rocklin store 20 minutes (if not a little more) before there posted 7:00 p.m. closing time. The indoor house plan room was locked. I asked if we could grab one snake plant and they said no. I pointed out that they were still open for business and the other store had sent us there but they still refused. We counted a total of 5 employees helping 2 customers. My family and one other lady who had just finished checking out. They could have let us get the plant. In less time than they spent telling us they couldn't open the door. Horrible business practice to close sections down without notice. They seem to have a bunch of lazy employees. The manager at this location treated me very poorly and although they did not use the N word I felt strongly that they were condescending and treating me like a peasant. I am a homeowner with 3 BMW's and a college education as well as it landlord, Who will now devote some spare time as I don't have much to letting people now how terrible this location is and how badd my experience was. Money talks and for me so do plants and if they happen to offer may some free plants I might start to like them again. But for now I will definitely spread the word and let everyone now that I feel personally which I am allowed to nap this company is operated by racist individuals who employ a certain number of blacks and hispanics to Portray the image to an extent. Finding this store was such a win! They carry ALL types of plants!! And the price is amazing!! This store in particular is my favorite because of the huge green house, it has all types of plants and rare ones that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. My husband was also able to find a little $7 bonsai! I purchased a small but very healthy looking white rubber tree for only $13, usually I've seen then above $25 elsewhere. We have remodeled our landscape front and back and purchased all our plants from Green Acres. Even during the height of Covid and difficult supply chain we were able to get what we wanted. After about 8 months in the ground we had a number of our plants that died or just didn't perform as expected. We purchased all of our trees and plants with the 1 year guarantee. We were a little nervous about how to go about the exchange bit were immediately put at ease by the excellent service of Stacie at the Rocklin location.
