I had a request for an addition project. The project manager came to an on site visit. He asked me many interesting questions such as whether I like people, whether I don't like him, and questioned my patience. I was shocked by those questions and honestly did not know what to answer because that was how I usually talk and I never met him so I had no feelings whether to like him. Then it took a quite long time to get the proposal submitted (I had to remind the company to do it). I was shocked to see the number because it was almost double of the price than most of the proposals I have seen. A thousand dollars psf? I might just buy a new house. Update now that the work is completed , & it's been a year , we love the work on our MBR by the second crew which was Standing Bear, Travis, worked like it was his own home . Unfortunately the first crew that worked on our GBR & Laundry Room , Frank , was a nightmare , to much in a hurry , as an electrician, Daniel was left to finish , and was skilled , Franks son unfortunately did not prep the baseboards in Laundry room before painting, now peeling. Last but least our Project Mgr Jay had great customer service skills, but never helped with with picking materials , only referred me to vendors , nor was present enough on the project , left me to order everything which I had never done this before & I list all products on excel sheets what I purchased , way to much work for the customer, me . He was too busy with personal issues, delays & lack follow up . The customer should always be considered first & not burden. I will look for another Company to remodel our Kitchen , I thought I was getting quality service just got quality work at the end for one bathroom. Green Bay took on a very large and difficult exterior waterproofing job and did it well. We were unable to find any other company that would take on this job. They are resourceful, skilled and care about the customer. Jake Steinberg supervised the work and you would be well served to have him on your job. Jake didn't just fix things the way they were, he made big improvements. Jake is very intelligent and just figures things out. Jake took down an unnecessary top portion wall in our kitchen lightwell has made it dramatic improvement in the light coming into that area. I never would've thought of that and apparently nobody else did prior. It has transformed our kitchen. Now it's bright and sunny. Zero downside. Huge upside. Second, by eliminating a drain scupper, which was a constant problem on our smaller 3d floor deck, and re-sloping the deck surface so that everything would drain into the lightwell drain, he totally eliminated a trouble spot. Bravo. A larger penthouse deck now does not have puddles in the morning. Jake took all the previous coatings off and used lightweight concrete to get the slope right. No prior contractors or roof repair companies ever did. They just kept adding more coats of elastomeric sealer to a poorly sloped surface. It was previously too wet to use until the sun dried things out and that took hours. It's so much better now. Most people would've just repaired everything as it was before and that would've just perpetuated the problems. Jake obviously put more a lot more thought into it than anyone else has. We really appreciate it. Two other guys who deserve kudos are Green Bay's supervisor Thomas ODonnell. He is a second set of eyes on the project and makes sure everything is shipshape and waterproof. He knows his business and is very conscientious. Our lead worker Thurman is very sharp. He's actually a degreed civil engineer from Central America and has led his crew to do amazing things without the added difficulty and expense of bringing a crane on site. They accomplished tasks that I thought were literally impossible without bringing a crane and I am an engineer. They performed miracles just using scaffolding, block and tackle gear, strong backs and ingenuity. No mistakes. No mishaps. Just perfect. read more

I had the great pleasure of booking someone to come out to give us an estimate, I'm the project manager of our remodel for my mother in law Erica. They let me know they needed the home owner to be there, so I insured her home at the time of the visit. My mother in law Erica greeted the man, they called me and we went over potential options all while my mother in law was standing there in her bright pink rob and pj's... then about 10 minutes after we ended. I received a text saying that the "cleaner" greated him and not the home owner ... now my mother in law is Latino was this racism? Was this a communication error? TL;DR: Green Bay was a joy to work with, professional, skilled and detailed and delivered a quality finished product. They also managed to get the job done just in time for a surprise early delivery of our daughter despite delays caused by COVID. I mean, just look at it! We finally have the kitchen of our dreams!! We signed up with Green Bay right before the pandemic shut everything down for months, but Ariel, our project manager, kept in contact to make sure we were in the loop since we had also selected and put a deposit down on the cabinets and counters. The delay added an additional concern to the hopeful deadline because my wife was also pregnant with our first child, and we had hoped to have the kitchen completed before we also had a newborn in the house. But once construction was cleared to begin, Green Bay was quick to schedule and get things started. Not to say there weren't bumps in the road along the way because of anticipated issues that we hoped wouldn't arise, or small changes we made during install. However, all issues we encountered were met head on by Ariel and his team to ensure that we could get the job done correctly, quickly and without cutting corners or great additional cost to us. Right when we were nearing the finish line, my wife had to be rushed to the hospital due to pregnancy complications and had to give birth 5.5 weeks early. While in the hospital, Ariel and crew went above and beyond and even helping to take care of our dogs since I couldn't be there. we had a $300k remodeling job and hired Green Bay Remodeling. on the plus side, the quality has been very good. However: they didn't start the design until at least three months had passed, and all they did was draw up plans - missing a number of elements - without any design consultations. they promised 3-D modeling for review, which never happened. The plans they submitted were not complete, per city requirements, and we had to light a fire under them to get the revisions quickly turned around. The project manager job has fallen largely to us. They promised a constant crew to work on the project, once started, and crew has dwindled to two workers without even a job-site foreman. I am updating this review, only because I saw that their team tried to get in touch with me. They explained that they are not affiliated with Home Advisor, which is why my appointment was canceled. Odd to me, but okay. Removing a star for the owner threatening me with a lawsuit for my opinion of his business. He said he couldn't contact me, when he could have easily sent me a private message through Yelp. He said I was fake, because I reviewed similar companies for the same thing--canceling appointments or refusing service. However, it is a legitimate gripe. Imagine owning a home in the Bay Area where you are told they do not provide service to that area, but do work in places 2-3 further out, but in affluent areas. It's BS, and yes, should be reviewed accordingly!!! I currently own 4 homes, 3 in the Bay Area. The house I'm trying to renovate first is in Antioch, and I have been trying to get a contractor for the past six months and still have not found anyone to come out. Yet, I have a house in San Francisco that every company is willing to service--including the companies on the East Bay and closer to my home on the East Bay! It's ridiculous!!! So, when this company sent me a cancelation a day before my appointment, yeah, it is aggravating as hell!!! But, I do see their attempt to reach out. I don't check my home phone regularly, since most contact me by cell. So, adjusting my score for that, but leaving my experience here AS IS. I suppose this company was willing to work with me, so my previous review is inaccurate. I am still looking for a contractor in Antioch. I also need to do a full remodel and addition to the home on the SF side next year. However, based on my complaint and the owner threatening a lawsuit, I don't think either of us would want to work with each other going forward. He doesn't take criticism and I don't take threats well. I am removing another star, because the company said they don't use Home Advisor, but previous reviews show they do use Home Advisor. Our summer during the pandemic has been incredibly productive with Alon Attias as the project manager from Green Bay Remodelling. We have interviewed independent contractors and other firms to remodel our master room bathroom, which has been long overdue. We already agreed on a different contractor due to price and quick time estimate to complete project. Yet, meeting Alon, who was very informative, not pressured, answered directly to questions and recommendations how to pass town inspections gave us great comfort from the start and we changed our decision to Green Bay Remodelling after viewing the testimonials. No remodeling project is easy, and unexpected items arise no matter how well you plan - Alon helped us plan, took us to various supply vendors, researched comparisons (price, quality, color schemes) and the most noticeable trait that my husband observed, was his quick responses and how hard he worked. It was so refreshing not to chase or repetitive follow-ups, Alon served us, and that is unique. The 3D modeling app helped us visualize the project outcome, color coordination of the materials selected, and make changes before demolition. What a great planning tool to avoid surprises or buyer's remorse! The project: Alon prepped us what we should expect so we adjust our lifestyle accordingly. All the time estimates, payment schedule, photos, and "to-do" lists were loaded in their builder trend app, so we saw the progress throughout the project every day. They planned the electrician, tile, cabinet, inspections all seamlessly that minimize any downtimes, which takes a lot of coordination, as I know being a project manager in hi-tech. They had a dumpster which was not removed on time, which was a bit of eye-sore, but they took care of it from that vendor. There were a few surprises that the crew or Alon detected, but we were consulted on options, so I appreciated those checkpoints and decisions weren't upon the crew. Alon was our main communication point so info was consistent and the crew can focus on their work. Green Bay hires the workers as their staff, so we didn't have outsourced contractors that came from unknown backgrounds, especially during the pandemic, and they were courteous workers, putting covers on floor and furniture to avoid dust. Just ask them to close the doors so flies don't come in :) Green bay had a portable toilet outdoors for crew and signs up of the permit granted. Project completion: Most impressive... Alon walked us through and asks for any issues while using our bathroom. He changed a few things, without charging or nickel/diming us - that is customer service, winning more points worth the few dollars they didn't charge. Alon recommended to change our carpets thereafter, and it was done so quickly at end of summer, so summary, it has been quite a summer. Alon and Green Bay met all their deadlines and used very impressive tools, have a smart and savvy hi-tech staff, and although the project costs more than the lower quotes, it was worth it all the quality and prevented conflicts that occur with other contractors. We made a friend here, and I hope you get Alon, he's honest what he can do or would get right supplier! GBR prices are on the higher side, based on quotes given, showed detailed description of work, it covered Design, Rough In Materials , Hire of Labor & Clean up , the home owner has to shop for finishing goods, which takes alot of work, if its your first time working with a remodel. This is the area Jay could have worked more with us on, for his time, his time seemed spread thin. We remodeled 2 Bathrooms (Master Bath & Guest Bathroom), the quality of work, met the price expectation. We did start with a different crew in our Guest bathroom, they apparently rushed through , looks good, we were concerned they did not communicate enough with us until after the fact scenarios. The master bathroom was done by a Better crew, detail oriented and took their time, and worked based on our needs, the communication was great, always. We had a "free" consultation with Jake from State Farm....no sorry Jake from Green Bay last night. It was really a good presentation and provided alot of education. Then came the discussion regarding the price and the "close" of the sale. Let's just say, an awkward moment was born. As we played double dutch (my husband and I twirling the ropes), Jake nervously was trying to figure out how he was going to play his hand. This is the part where the "consultation" went left. He presented the deal of remodeling 2 of our 3 bathrooms in which no footprint would change with the grand old pandemic price of $100,000, not including any of the finished products, i.e. tub, fixtures, lighting, etc. We were told that he needed a signed agreement and a check in hand to keep this wonderful deal on the spot. We explained that there was NO way this was going to happen. For such a substantial amount of $$$, we had to discuss as well as check out other contractors. This is where the hard sell came into place. After telling us, that his company (he's only been there 7 months) was changing the scope of the contracting world, he failed to tell us that they had joined the ranks of car and timeshare salesmen (no offense intended to those who really work in those professions) with the harassing closing tactics. He went so far to say that since he had spent so much time with us (3.5 hours, we expected only 2 hours) that he expected us to sign this agreement on the spot. At this time, I began to question the fact of whether or not the consultation was indeed "free." Now the side-eye comes out. The moral character of the company is now being questioned. Here are a couple of tips for Jake and Green Bay that may help in the future: 1) If a customer says no, respect the no THE FIRST TIME THEY SAY IT; 2) Add some testimonials from African-American customers to your website. We were willing to maybe be your first ones, but seems like that may be on the chopping block now; 3) When talking with African-American clients, NEVER in hopes of creating a "common" bond, say to them "I like you too, you're WELL SPOKEN." Using such terminology implies that we are an exception to the rule or standard that has been unfairly created by white people over the years; 4) Let potential clients know that there is no such thing as a "free consultation." There is an expectation at the end of the date to put out $$$; 5) Be clear as to what is included in the scope up front. We were surprised at the end that the quote was only for labor and materials. These new fancy words that are being used, went above us well-spoken folks; 6) Stop promising things that you can't provide. You gave yourself away Jake. At the end, Jake tried to throw in a skylight for free to sweeten the pot. Then his lack of power was shown when my husband mentioned a testimonial he saw on the website. Then Jake had the bright idea of tying our testimonial with the receipt of a skylight in the quote. 7) The last and final tip....we understand that there is an inflation in price and a need to makeup for pandemic losses. However, please do not make up ALLLLLL of your $$$ on one project, $100,000 is extremely too much. Confirmed with building departments of the city. We were so excited to try and work with Green Bay. I truly thought there was a new and honest way of going through the construction process. It never was about price only. The service is such a big part of our decision. We hired Green Bay to do our kitchen remodel after a consultation. We received a 3D rendering of the proposed project and detailed plans, including pricing for different options we were considering. We chose to replace our cabinet doors and add storage under our island, new countertops, and installation of a wine fridge, plus updates to our fan, stove, and fixtures. Melissa, our project manager, was excellent! She was always responsive to questions or concerns we had. She was respectful of our budget and helped us through materials selection. The main workers, Andres and his crew, were all professional and dedicated. They demolished and replaced our floors, backsplash, stove, fan, installed new lighting, and installed new quartz countertops, sink, and fixtures. The cabinet makers were pros. They were very efficient and exacting. We had an issue with colors not matching, which did cause about a week delay. We got daily check ins and updates from Melissa about what was happening and the project was completed within the estimate window. All in all the project took about 2 months. The workers took care to make sure we had access to our refrigerator and microwave throughout and they were friendly and respectful as we continued to live and work in the house during the remodel. read more

Zack Llinetsky was my parent's Project Manager (PM). Zack prepared a comprehensive estimate which included materials, permits, and etimated time for completion for my Parent's Master bathroom. Zack and my parents went over what my parents wanted their bathroom to look like and function for my dad's disabliity. A couple options were completed, and after my parents chose the one they liked, Green Bay's estimates were one of the higher ones. That is because Zack included incidentals such as building permit cost for for things that needed a permit from Fremont, CA. The other estimates were left "open". So we felt Green Bay's estimate would be closer to my parent's known budget. My parents are elderly, so Zack did not proceed with any changes without consulting me first, or notifying me what needs to be done. As with remodeling older homes, unexpected problems arose, such as severe termite issues that needed to be resolved before moving forward with remodeing. Zack provided the exact precise information and cost range to repair these unexpected damages so there is transparency. Zack provided the customer service and expertise needed to ease my parent's renovation anxieties. I would recommend giving Green Bay a shot for your renovations needs. read more

Got a few quotes from local remodelers for our small bath room (approx 5'x6' ) . I will say Green Bay came in more expensive BUT Adir our project manager really sold us on the extras. Extras being a timeline, a clear price list, a warranty and a project manager. I will say the sales tactics is strong. My husband were not expecting to sign contacts that day of the quote . The bathroom was suppose to be done with 2.5 -3 weeks (Monday-Friday contractors at the house) but like most construction projects it went to 1-2 months . There were some hurdles that Adir would always quickly fix. Issues were: desired title was back ordered, and glass shower had to be reordered 3 times. The contractor kept the area relatively clean, I mean it's total bathroom remodel you're lying to your self if you think it will be dust free. The real test for me was after the project . I waited to post just to see if there were any unseen problems that show up much later. There was a problem with the shower a month later . I contacted Adir and he came over within 2 hours and arranged the fix no charge. 4 months later there was a pipping issue with the sink, contacted Adir and it was fixed with a few days. Nothing is ever perfect in construction but for me the work ethic and care Adir had for this project really put us at ease and impressed us. read more

If you care about details and finishing touches, I would skip these guys. I have been trying to get a hold of them for months to clean up everything but they had my money so they I guess they don't care. The experience actually started off poorly. I probably should have taken that as an indicator. We were assigned a project coordinator, husband and wife, Daniel and Jessica. Jessica was not very good at follow up. She was supposed to drop off some tile samples for me but never did it. I called to follow up and her husband had to eventually drop them off because she never did it. We would meet and discuss outstanding items. We met to discuss next steps and I asked if I should send an email summarizing the meeting so we both knew what each of us had to get done. She told me she would send me the email but of course, it never got sent. When construction finally started, they did not put up any protection over the furniture or anywhere. No plastic partitions. Dust was everywhere. I understand that it's a demo and there's bound to be tons of dust but the partitions would have helped. They put it up after I asked but it was very unprofessional. The shower pan was done very poorly. To the point where we had to ask to get it redone. The shower box was very messy. Tiles weren't aligned and the grout lines were uneven. The shower doors were put on very sloppily. They never cleaned up the edges or wiped off the skylights. There we're still labels on them. Just all around an unpolished finish. We were left with a bathroom that looked good from afar but a very DIY finish up close. You could probably watch some YouTube videos and do it yourself for a lot less money, if you had the inclination. They also spilled a significant amount of water that caused the flooring in my hallway to buckle and left all the paints and leftover materials. I had to drive it to the dump and paid $50 to dispose of. I tried calling them many times but no response. I've tried emailing several times. Someone responded to my email saying they'll give me a call but of course, no call. If you go with these guys you, you better be there every step of the way. Almost have to watch over their shoulders and be a micromanager. Make sure the project is exactly how you like it before you pay.
