If you care about details and finishing touches, I would skip these guys. I have been trying to get a hold of them for months to clean up everything but they had my money so they I guess they don't care. The experience actually started off poorly. I probably should have taken that as an indicator. We were assigned a project coordinator, husband and wife, Daniel and Jessica. Jessica was not very good at follow up. She was supposed to drop off some tile samples for me but never did it. I called to follow up and her husband had to eventually drop them off because she never did it. We would meet and discuss outstanding items. We met to discuss next steps and I asked if I should send an email summarizing the meeting so we both knew what each of us had to get done. She told me she would send me the email but of course, it never got sent. When construction finally started, they did not put up any protection over the furniture or anywhere. No plastic partitions. Dust was everywhere. I understand that it's a demo and there's bound to be tons of dust but the partitions would have helped. They put it up after I asked but it was very unprofessional. The shower pan was done very poorly. To the point where we had to ask to get it redone. The shower box was very messy. Tiles weren't aligned and the grout lines were uneven. The shower doors were put on very sloppily. They never cleaned up the edges or wiped off the skylights. There we're still labels on them. Just all around an unpolished finish. We were left with a bathroom that looked good from afar but a very DIY finish up close. You could probably watch some YouTube videos and do it yourself for a lot less money, if you had the inclination. They also spilled a significant amount of water that caused the flooring in my hallway to buckle and left all the paints and leftover materials. I had to drive it to the dump and paid $50 to dispose of. I tried calling them many times but no response. I've tried emailing several times. Someone responded to my email saying they'll give me a call but of course, no call. If you go with these guys you, you better be there every step of the way. Almost have to watch over their shoulders and be a micromanager. Make sure the project is exactly how you like it before you pay. We made the mistake of paying before having the chance to thoroughly review and now we're stuck. read more

Our original project plan was to install a 20 x 20 Ft. paver patio behind an existing wood fence and also a small paver area behind an existing in-law unit. There is a raised step and small gate leading to a laundry room door. We also wanted two feet of space away from the wood fence so we could place some planters next to the fence. We did not want that area paved, and we wanted the step to be level with the patio so there would be no tripping hazard when someone stepped through the gate. The Green Bay salesman/project manager came over and I discussed our plan with him, and I told him about the gate and planter requirements. The quote was for $15,000 which I thought might be kind of high, but since this was not easy work I decided to go for it. A couple of days later the salesman brought over his paving contractor, and we talked about the same things I discussed with the salesman. I also decided to expand the area behind the in-law unit to 17x30 square feet, and the quote went up to $26,000. When asked about paver choices, the contractor just showed us a couple of pictures of a previous driveway project on his cell phone. When asked about paver choices the contractor said "just use the same one in the picture". We were not offered any other choices. We asked him to bring some samples of the pavers so we could at least look at them and it was only after my wife's insistence that he finally brought over a sample. That was not what we wanted so we asked for some catalogs, which after some arguing the contractor finally brought some from his truck. We finally chose a style and started to proceed with the project. It was a few days later that the materials showed up and the work crew started the project. During the construction the paving contractor decided my gate latch was not to his liking and drilled a hole in the gate to modify it. Obviously that is not what we hired them for and I was quite upset about that. They were near the end of installing the patio pavers when I came home and discovered that they weren't following the original plan. I could not open my gate, and the patio was two inches higher than the step off of the laundry room. The paving contractor's reply was "just saw off the bottom of the gate until you can open it". We called the salesman/project manager and complained about this, and after some argument they agreed to pull up the pavers to do it the way we originally requested. However, the salesman made me record into his cell phone a disclaimer that they were not liable for any problems with redoing the patio. The paving contractor complained bitterly that we changed our minds too often, and stopped working on the project while we resolved the problem with the step, and only resumed work upon orders from the salesman/project manager. We finally got so frustrated with working with these people we asked them to just finish the basic work and leave. The main takeaways from this project are: - If you are looking for craftsmanship, not just basic construction, this is not the company for you. For the price we paid we expected more than just a couple of rectangles, and could not come up with solutions to typical problems you run into during construction. - When things go wrong they blame the customer first. - They are expensive. I calculated they charge about $165/hour for labor. We got the actual cost for materials by checking with other suppliers. - They seem to want to do things in a quick and dirty way. - They went outside the scope of their work and ruined my gate in the process. My husband and I looked for a contractor to build 1200 sqf addition , we met with all kinds of contractors from different sources. Green Bay came in last, we met with Zack Ilinetsky . The process was actually completely different than what we experienced with all the others (husband very picky so it took time). Zack actually came out to consulate us , his interest was to make sure that we are aware of every detail , we did a mistake by getting plans from an outsourced architect which resulted in high costs of changes and permits (GBR has an in-house guy that takes care of it and comes out much cheaper but what's done is done). Zack took us to see other large projects that he personally manages and we had the good conversation with other customers. For finish material - all other contracts put in the budget a certain amount of money for those finishes, Zack told us a secret that a lot of companies mark up the prices, he offered to work with his vendors and take his discount(ended up paying 45% less!!!!!!). Overall we had a 6 months relationship with Zack and we created a high-end addition that looks natural to our house. I know we were not easy customers but he stayed patient through the whole process. The last point I want to mention and was extremely important to us was to keep the same price from beginning to end, Zack promised and stayed behind it, we started and finished at the same price!!!!!!! read more

Zack, our project manager, stuck in there until the project was 100% right, and 100% approved by picky me. I like a looks-high-end result on a medium-end budget, and that's what I got. It was a challenging project. I subbed in some contractors of my own-the wood floors and the concrete countertops, and this went perfectly-no problems or objections from Zack. The advantage of Green Bay is that they are a fairly large contractor and are committed to upholding their reputation. I can't speak for other project managers, but Zack was always polite and gracious. We're done! A few days ahead of schedule and on budget. Doing a full gut remodel is not for the faint of heart but with Green Bay, it is about as painless as you can find. We worked with a couple of different project managers and all of them did a great job. The team excels in communication, even when delivering the good the bad, and the ugly. I don't think you can tear half of a condo down to the studs and not find at least a couple of things unexpected, and we did. Green Bay handled these hiccups with a clear explanation of the issues and our options. The team is extremely patient, there were a couple of instances where they made recommendations and I opted for something else only to find that they were right all along. Now that the job--which expanded from one master bath remodel into a second, half bathroom remodel--is almost complete, I can say with complete sincerity that Green Bay Remodeling exceeded all my expectations. I remodeled a master bath in my previous home (which was a nightmare - hourly charges + materials, while learning on the job). I have also undergone three kitchen remodels. Green Bay is the real deal. Their pricing is fair, they are hard workers - even coming on a Saturday to ensure the job was completed on time, and they do excellent work. We are so happy with our newly remodeled master bathroom! After purchasing our first home, we contacted Green Bay Remodeling for a quote to remodel our bathroom. Since the initial phone conversation with their Customer Service Department and Scheduling Department we knew Green Bay would be our remodeling firm of choice, they were professional and answered all the questions my husband and I had. As first-time homebuyers, we had so many questions, which they were able to answer! They made us feel like we were in safe hands! After scheduling a free consultation, we met with Ariel. We explained to him our vision and what were our expectations. Hours after our consultation we received a Proposal from Green Bay and decided to move forward. I can say that Ariel and his team were great to work with, they provided good advice and recommendations for our renovation. He provided references for us to check and was very professional. These people are truly awful. Where to begin? We hired them for a complete bathroom remodel. When they are discussing the contract, they will tell you the answers that you want to hear. Do not trust this! Get EVERYTHING in writing (including how often the project manager will be at your project; ours showed up about once a week yet claimed he would be there daily to instruct the workers) Demolition went smoothly, but it was constant problems from that point forward. Then the workers started to ask us questions they should already have the answers to. How far does the shower pan go out? Where do we place the lights? This is when we noticed how little time the project manager Ray spent with our project, and his failure to give workers proper guidance. Tiles in the shower pan were laid sloppily; they weren't in straight lines. When this was brought to their attention they tried to give 5 different excuses before acquiescing to reinstall the shower tiles. They installed multiple chipped and cratered tiles; apparently the idea of rejecting materials never dawned on them. The grout work is incredibly sloppy. Lines are very uneven. Their quality control guy, who came to the project ONCE, ignores my messages. A toilet was included in the contract. The old toilet installed in the wall, and the project manager thought he was saving money by not moving the attachment. Down the line he ended up having to pay twice as much for a toilet that attached to the wall instead of the floor, then he yelled at me for it one day when he was angry about having to reinstall the shower tile. As if not doing his due diligence on the toilet was an excuse for shoddy work elsewhere in the bathroom! On multiple days I could overhear workers complaining about not being paid in a timely fashion. The drawers on the vanity did not sit flush. Neither the project manager nor the other workers could fix the drawers. They had to call someone from the supplier to come out and fix it. They were going to leave the project with a door that wouldn't close and a toilet that wouldn't flush! They painted the old door without sanding it. They claimed the clog in the toilet was in piping elsewhere in the house and we would have to pay for someone to unclog it. I called a plumber who used a tool that only goes as far as the wall to clear the clog. Needless to say, Green Bay footed the bill. Now, a month after the project, their grout is already cracking. They came and caulked over the crappy grout without removing it. I'm sure THAT won't create a future mold problem! The project manager is like a child who takes responsibility for nothing and argues about everything. How could it possibly be his fault? He works so hard. Maybe there ARE competent, hard working people that work for Green Bay. Unfortunately, we didn't meet any of them. read more

Green Bay was quick to respond to make an appointment. We need to remodel three bathrooms. Roy came out and sounded promising and said bid cost proposal would be sent within a week. Then they dropped the ball! After several emails and daily phone calls, Roy called back to once again promising bid proposal would be sent to us. It has been almost a month and we have not heard back from anyone. Is the way they conduct business when they are trying to get a contract signed? We had a horrible experience working with this company. We hired them to remodel our master bath last summer. They estimated that the project would take 4 weeks. I was nearly 5 months pregnant at the time, so it was important that the project be finished well before the baby arrived, but even if it took 2x the estimate we would have been in good shape. Fast-forward FOUR MONTHS and we were bringing a newborn home to a construction zone. The 3 of us spent her first month all sleeping in the nursery because THEY WERE STILL WORKING. Awful, right? But that wasn't even the worst part. I will include several pictures so that you can see for yourself the quality - or lack thereof - you can expect from this company. When we pointed out major issues (such as the drain being installed improperly), Zack the project manager told us that we were crazy. Eventually, they brought someone else in and he found even more issues than we did (like the slope of the floor we paid extra for was done wrong). The new lead contractor fixed a lot of the issues, but wasn't able to fix all plus some new ones popped up. Here is a list of a few of the issues that remain (sadly there are even more): - Floor tile installed crooked - Wall and floor tiles chipped and damaged, including those that required no cuts - Didn't allow proper cure time on grout, so our black grout appears patchy grey/white from all the dust that got into it. - Giant chunk of floor tile missing and patched in with sort of filler product. - Shower niche was supposed to be centered, but it is off by a noticeable amount - Brand new vanity damaged - Cut a chunk out of the drywall and never repaired - Never used painters tape and left messy edges everywhere, including painting over finishes - Screwed up our electrical, which had to be redone by a professional electrician. There were also a few money issues that came up. For example, we had to re-purchase tile multiple times so they could fix errors (such as cutting tile that wasn't supposed to be cut). Zack promised to reimburse us for certain items that they were supposed to supply or that they destroyed (and yes, I have this in writing), but he never did so. We did ultimately agree that we wouldn't render the final payment and they wouldn't do anymore work, however the amount "saved" from that payment doesn't even come close to covering our excess costs due to their incompetency, let alone the cost of labor and materials to fix all of their mistakes. A few other complaints if the above hasn't scared you a safe distance away: They were very messy and didn't clean up after themselves. Even when asked (repeatedly) they just did the bare minimum cleaning. They punched a hole in our floor and into our neighbors ceiling, and took months to fix it. They thought they were being helpful by unboxing and moving a piece of nursery furniture from our entryway into our living room (2 flights up), however we felt it was inappropriate and they damaged that, too. I felt Zack was very pushy and the "your spouse must be present to get an estimate" rule was so that they could high-pressure you into signing the contract and giving a deposit right then. They were constantly asking for a positive review - you can bet that all of the 5 star reviews here were solicited. They even offered to fix mistakes they made in exchange for a positive review. The reasons I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because most of the people there were polite and friendly, they did deliver a functional bathroom and never disappeared on us even when they knew they screwed up badly. What can I say about Ariel and the team at Green Bay Remodeling. they went above and beyond any and all of my expectations on my first remodel 0f my loft in San Francisco.Ariel helped my with the design and held my hand through the the entire process all the way through the end of the construction. They basically helped me create a brand new bathroom and gave me new kitchen countertops and backsplash. they even put in new recess lighting in the kitchen and hallway when I didn't even ask them. Ariel's timeliness and attention to detail was great. we had the project originally from 4 to 6 weeks and they finished way ahead of schedule. They did an amazing job on keeping the apartment clean and aerial's professionalism went above and beyond anything I would expect. I dislike negatively reviewing businesses but this one deserves it. Initially, I was referred to Green Bay Remodeling Inc. through HomeAdvisor.com and after confirming that they in fact work with homeowner insurance claims, I had proceeded to hire them. Zack seemed very enthusiastic about the project and assured me that he has worked with insurance claims before and that he could meet my project needs. Taking his word verbatim, I had contracted with him. A simple analysis/evaluation for the project was $1000.00 which I thought was a bit high but I didn't hesitate and wrote them a check. Zack sent an electrician, Mike, to evaluate the damages and Mike spend no more than 15 minutes on the property, he left assuring me that he found everything that needed to be fixed. The next day, Zack then presented a vague report of the findings and a preliminary estimate of over $11K. Assuring me that the full scope of the project won't be evaluated until after the electrical work is done. I moved forward as Zack seemed to be a trustworthy fellow and knew what he was talking about. At the start of the work, Zack had gotten another $1000 from me. Electrical work literally consisted of: changing 4 burned out light bulbs, replacing 3 light switches plus 1 cover plate, 3 metal attachments to the wood beam and replacing 2 recessed lighting. The electrician that was sent did not speak English and had a hard time communicating so Mike the initial electrician was sent to fix things. The switches were misaligned. The family room lights failed to turn on during this process. They failed to attach my recessed light on the ceiling before dry walling. Mind you, I had to babysit the project along and as a customer, I really shouldn't have to and this is why contractors are paid - to oversee the entirety of the project. I had a constant back and forth with Zack trying to point out what was left unfinished. At this point, Zack came back with a total reevaluation of over $9k and my insurance came back with a fair evaluation of a bit over $6k. I wrote a $4000 check again to move the project along. Once this was taken care of, the drywall crew had supposedly quit (I wonder why - see screenshot of the text from Zack). Once Eduardo, the foreman, started on the drywall work, there was nothing but mess (see pictures). As a professional contractor, prep work is a necessity and from this faulty practice, I could clearly tell they cut corners to maximize profit. After expressing my concern to Zack, he had sent Eduardo back to "clean up" the mess. It was cleaned up about 80%. There still remains plaster all over my soap, shampoo bottles, etc. The paint job was beyond terrible, there were just patches of paint that did not transition neatly throughout the walls. It is such an embarrassment to call that professional work. There were two clearly visible holes next to recessed lights that weren't patched either. After showing all these to Zack in person, he agreed that the workmanship was below mediocre. At this point, Zack seemed to be motivated in compelling me to sign the completion document stating that the work was finished but it really wasn't. I refused to sign it but did give him a postdated check for the full amount. We agreed that I would meet Eduardo in person after my work at 5 PM so I could explain what needs to be addressed. I get a call at 3:50 PM from Eduardo stating that he was at my property. This is just faulty business practice, trying to avoid mitigating the issues in person. Such a young company should build its reputation for having good customer service and it clearly doesn't. Throughout this project, I have yet to hear from the manager or owner of the business to make things right. Zack said that he would work with me in deducting from the $9k for the unsatisfactory and unprofessional workmanship. In return, I get an email from the secretary demanding payment. A total of $1890 for all materials (no itemized costs for these materials) and $7792 for supposed 55 hours of labor (which they fail to provide proof of). Had Zack mentioned the average price of $141 per hour for subpar labor, I would have reconsidered and not signed a contract with them. It seemed that Green Bay took advantage of the insurance claim situation to benefit them solely. This business promised everything I wanted to hear but failed to deliver in every way. A very unsatisfied experience with them. All the reviews on Yelp are fairly new for either Bathroom/Kitchen remodels so I can't speak for their work on that part. Perhaps, they should deal with affluent projects and should not promise to accomplish projects such as this in a professional fashion if they can't fulfil. PS. We had a project to replace grass with stamped cement or stamped concrete, whatever they call it. We had a specific pattern and color in mind . I called several construction companies and the bid and service I've received from Green Bay construction was just simply good. Zak - project manager came to our home and quickly assessed the situation, explained how the process works, how the colors are settling and presented with a quote. We called him a week later to let him know that he can start. As a final result, we have a beautiful patio, done on time, clean and exactly the way we wanted. I just had my house remodeled by Green Bay Remodeling. I have to say that Inon Cohen (project manager) and Efrain Lopez (Contractor) were very professional and knowledgeable. I had both bathrooms redone, new flooring throughout the whole house, retextured all the walls and ceiling, updated the electrical system in both bathrooms. It was done professionally and quickly. The crew came at 8am and didn't leave until 6pm or later. The work was good quality. There were a couple of minor mistakes but was fixed very quickly. I was very happy with my experience with Green Bay remodeling. Ray was so professional from the time he walked into my house. I had been looking for a contractor for at least six months and interviewed several contractors but was not finding one that I liked. Some gave me ridiculous prices because I live in San Francisco. Others did not seem professional. Ray came in and gave me a a a quote that was fair. I decided to do two bathrooms in my home and also did a closet remodel in each bedroom. Ray helped me decide on the design and went with me to pick the tiles and all I needed to complete the project. He was great. We did not feel we got what we paid for. We entered a contract to not only get an estimate but have an engineer review our requirements and create a blueprint. 4k later it was not what we expected and that process alone took over a month. We ended up going with another company. Not only did they give us a quote the day of the free consultation but we chose our materials a week later and was in budget. We never got to that point with Green Bay in a month and it was a 4k lesson. We the customers had to ask for updates even though we were paying for a service. Customers need to know what is expected at all times within a specific period. And whats worse, we went in with a specific budget, PM came back 30k over budget without working on the decisions and numbers with us. read more

I contacted Green Bay remodeling 48 880 square-foot addition underneath my house the work was of a medium level nothing crazy fancy one bathroom one bedroom and three large rooms they would have to dig under the house 3 feet. A total area of about 400 ft.² or 300 ft.² need to be dug out I said I wanted quality workmanship and I told him I would take care of the finish materials. I spoke with Zak. He came over the house we spent about 45 minutes together he seemed very intelligent articulate and knew the business and his job. Two weeks later I got a quote. This is where things became unbelievable. My quote was for $699,000. 880 ft.² addition for 700 grand do the math that's like $850 Per square foot. I was completely thrown off and completely shocked. So I contacted Zack and asked him if this was a true estimate he told me that it it would be a good crew working and not $15 an hour. At $100 an hour it would still be less than $699,000. The hardest part of the entire project would be the digging in the concrete pouring for the foundation the rest is wood sheet rock and mud and nails. I don't know how many people are falling for this but stay clear away I got six other beds all ranging from 120 to 230,000 reasonable quality and companies reputable. $699,000 completely insane. read more

Scheduled an appointment at our new property to get a quote for a significant home remodel. Had to coordinate someone coming from San Francisco to Danville to gain access. Appointment had been confirmed a few days in advance with multiple calls back/forth to coordinate. Green Bay never turned up. Office was closed so no answer on repeated phone calls on the day. I called the office as soon as they opened Monday and had 3 attempts at just getting someone to pickup the phone and speak to me. Was told a voicemail was left on Friday to reschedule appointment. I confirmed that they had correct number, my cell, and there is no record of a call or voicemail on my cell. Was told a followup call was made and voicemail not left as one was already left. There was no record of a call on my cell phone which is like for many people, glued to my hip! No empathy, no apology, just asked if I wanted to reschedule. So based on this whole process not sure I can trust them to effectively and timely communicate progress or address issues that will no doubt arise during the project. read more

Hello just completed my upstairs main bathroom project with project manager Nerya Katz and his team. They maintained professionalism from beginning to end. Nerya was great to work with very knowledgeable and excellent communication skills. He kept me informed and explained every detail. We went shopping for materials as I had no idea where or how to begin. From the 3D design plans to the finished project this experience has been smooth as possible considering COVID 19 restrictions. I read your comment but no one from your company came out a second time to explain the quote given to me since the quote was by mail. I did follow up with a request by phone for a breakdown of the cost instead of the lump sum figure given. I was told a breakdown would be mailed to me but I never received it. As I stated earlier there was no second visit by anyone from your company. I'm sorry if I didn't answer your calls since I get so many robo calls, I do not answer numbers I do not recognize. read more

We recently completed a very large project with Green Bay. We did a huge kitchen remodel and part of that remodel was an addition, as well as pavers in the backyard and a new fence in between our house and our neighbors. We were contacted from one of the Angie's List type of sites that we had gone on looking for a contractor. Pros-They are basically one stop shopping- they have a project manager, architect, structural engineer, they are very knowledgeable with various types of financing; they really take care of everything. We were very pleased with everyone we worked with, from our project manager Inon, to the foreman of the crew, Javier, to the landscape foreman Jugo and his crew. We almost felt like they were family after a while because they are so nice and work so hard, and they are at your house almost every day during the job, unlike most contractors. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable in their areas, they take the customers suggestions and really know if they will work or not. They are extremely efficient, it was amazing how quickly all the work was completed, despite the worst winter in a long time. They know how to work as a team to get the job done. The other very positive thing is that the price they quote you is the price you pay! There are no hidden charges once you start the job, and if something unforseen comes up, Inon tries to make it as affordable as possible to get the job done. The city required a couple things we had not anticipated, but he really worked to make it reasonable. Despite a little trouble understanding him over the phone because of his accent, he is truly amazing! He is constantly busy and works long hours, but you never feel like he doesn't have time for you. He always answers his phone when you call, and if for some reason he can't answer his phone right then he calls back promptly when you leave a message. Cons-the only real complaint we had was the fact that we thought they would have a bin outside all the time for construction debris as we have seen at other freind's sites. That is not the case, so the debris tended to pile up, which at first was ok, but then got to be a little frustrating. Because we were doing jobs outside and inside, it really piled up. With all the rain, the fact that we have two dogs that we had to walk out to the yard so they wouldn't step on screws, nails or other things, the debris did become an issue after a while. We did have to ask a couple of times before it was picked up. Don't get me wrong, we know construction is messy, but we felt like things could have been picked up and disposed of as they went along. All said, we would definitely recommend Green Bay to friends, but would be honest with them about our experience with the debris. They really do go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with the job, they are timely, efficient, and after hearing horror stories from others about cost and experiences, we feel very blessed to have had such a good contractor! read more
