I was reluctant to use this service due to the inconsistent reviews on Yelp, but a coworker recommended it, so I tried my luck. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the experience. The dispatcher, last night, took my reservation for a 3:20am pick up and instructions regarding my obscure location (a condo within a complex). My driver, Thahn, showed up ten mins early and I received a text that he had arrived. He was very polite, his vehicle was clean, he drove appropriately (not fast, but no lingering and straight to the airport). His rate was fair (comparable to Uber), and he helped load and unload luggage. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely use Green Taxi in the future. read more

Bad experience, will never trust green cab again. Schedule a ride 3 hours in advance to attend a wedding, provided credit card too. Received a call 5 minutes after the scheduled time that they were trying to find a driver for us that they were very busy and asked if I WANTED TO CANCEL. How could I cancel without another ride? I decided to give Greencab one last try after they left my parents high and dry (never showed up) for a 4:30AM ride to the airport. In that situation, I was able to drive them instead and forego paying for 2 weeks of parking. However this time around, their screw up cost me $180 in parking fees at BTV. Here's what happened: 2 days prior to travel: I called greencab and made a reservation for a 4:45 AM airport ride. Great. The evening before travel: I called greencab to confirm the ride the following morning. They had my reservation and confirmed the address and time. The morning of travel: Greencab called me at 4AM to confirm the reservation. The dispatcher was very friendly and said that he was sending the driver early-- and that the driver would be waiting outside around 4:30 even though we didn't need the ride until 4:45 4:30 came and went. I called the dispatcher. He said the driver was "on his way" 4:45 came and went. I called the dispatcher, this time with more urgency. He said the driver "got delayed" but was on his way. Where is the driver? He couldn't say. When would he be there? He couldn't say. I explained that I had a 6Am flight and that time was of the essence. He apologized profusely, but couldn't give me any more information. Finally at 5AM I had no choice but to get in the car and rush to the airport (and made it to the gate just as they made the last call). I left the car for 2 weeks, resulting in a $180 parking bill. Ouch! I will never, ever, call GreenCab again and highly recommend that you avoid them as well. read more

I have had two terrible interactions with Green Cab in the last couple of weeks. First, I needed to bring my daughter to the ER walk-in and we didn't get out in time to make the last bus to our home in Essex and stop at the pharmacy. We took the bus to Amtrak, we live about two miles away, and I proceeded to call a cab. I was told that because we were at Amtrak, I would have to provide a credit card number plus a deposit of we wanted to get picked up. I'm a single mom and college student so I couldn't do that. I explained that we were locals and that I had a sick kid, it was also pouring rain out, but all the operator could do was rudely reply that she couldn't help us. Second, last Friday night I called a cab from downtown, to be dropped off a friends house to visit before heading home. Once my cab arrived the driver began interrogating me about what I was doing out so late at night and why was I going somewhere that wasn't my home. A couple of hours later I called for a cab again and they sent the same driver. I got in the cab and he starts questioning me again and lecturing me about safety. I'm 33 and during the cooler months go out on Fridays and take a cab home. It really isn't any of his business what I was doing. I have a medical condition and it can't see my driveway until you are very close to it when it is dark and he started getting pissy with me, why bother using a GPS???? Overall their customer service has become quite rude and their drivers are creepy. I used to rely on this company to get me home safely. read more

I was twiced abandoned by Green Cab VT. Once, I had a very early morning flight and apparently they just failed to record my request the night before. (I made it to the airport by bus with 2 minutes to spare.) Second, I reserved a cab online and somehow again they had the wrong time down. (I double checked the confirmation e-mail that they sent me.) They came an hour early, when I was delivering a lecture, and then at the originally scheduled time, they said that due to traffic they couldn't get a cab to me in time for me to get to the airport. (I again made it with just minutes to spare.) I described these incidents to them and on the second failed pick up begged them to get a better system, but have received no response. I strongly encourage you to consider an alternative company if you are on a tight schedule, because Green Cab VT has been in my experience totally unreliable. read more

I have had great experiences with Green Cab. Having been picked up super early in the morning ,my drivers have been super friendly. My girlfriend on the other hand, said her driver talked on the phone the whole time, complained alot, and didnt help with her bags, so I've marked down the rating for her. (but she said they were on time and cheap). We used to use benways alot, but Green Cab rates are a lot cheaper. Another thing is that the person who takes the calls (i've always had the same guy), sounds like he hates his job. In the end, like all taxi companies, your experience will largely depend on your driver. As long as theyre on time and cheap thats good enough for me. Being friendly is a plus and I always handle my own bags. But, if youre not satisfied with your service stand up for your right not to tip. Don't be like my girlfriend and tip them anyways. We're all busting our butts to make a living and im not just going to give that away out of courtesy. You have to earn it just like the rest of us. read more

Tried to book a ride in Waterbury Center, with the main line dispatcher. The dispatcher was breathing into the phone the whole time sounding like she was on some kind of respirator, and to top it off, they wanted to charge me 57 dollars for the ride, saying that the location they were coming from was "all the way in Montpelier" which is literally 2 exits away off I-89 and right around the corner from the exit. Whoever is running this business is cutthroat. There is no reason that a cab that is going that short distance should cost that much for a "Service Charge" plus their other mileage fees. In NYC a cab is 5 up front and is metered by the mile......the ride should have been at most 30 bucks. read more

Little disappointed in Green Cab. First time I used them they couldn't take a card. Then they gave me a receipt for the wrong amount. Just tried to book again. They called back and left me a message asking to call them. I called back and was told they can't pick me up at 4:15 a.m. because they are all booked. No offer to go a bit sooner or later. On top of that, was it really necessary to make me call back for bad news? Just leave me a message or send me an email to that effect. Bummer. Please do not even bother! -lost my reservation -unfriendly drivers -woke me up at 3am (which is never a good idea) I called Saturday night at 9pm, and scheduled a car to take me to the airport at 620am the next morning. I thought I had been pretty straight forward ("I need a cab to take me to the airport at 620 tomorrow morning"), but apparently not. When 630 rolled around, I called the main office. They had no record of me ever calling, but they would send someone in 5 minutes. Fifteen minutes later...a quite unpleasant driver showed up. However, I will say that he got us to the airport VERY FAST! So whatever. But the next morning (Monday) I get continuous blocked-ID missed from 320am to 335 (I'm in California). I needed a ride from yipes to home. This is the first time I have used this cab compamy. I called the dispatcher was nice. I asked how much it will be since I have not taken a cab for a long time. He told me no more than 10 bucks . I thought it was a great price. My driver never said a word the whole way. And the cab was filled with smoke. Yuck. And when I got to my destination I asked him how much his reply was 20.75. I was going to ask him why but I just did not want to hear a lie. I only had to wait 5 minutes after I called. I reserved a cab for 6:00 tonight. At 5:45 I noticed my cab was running on time. By 6 pm the cab still hadn't left Burlington, VT. I waited around a bit more and when my app said it should be here I called and I was told another 7 minutes. Another 7 minutes passes and I receive a text saying my cab was cancelled. When I called to confirm this is was told the cab had waited outside for a few minutes. Considering I was at the end of my driveway waiting for him I can confidently say no he did not. Then they had the balls to offer to reserve me another ride after the 45 minute fiasco. It's ridiculous. read more

After receiving several confirmation text messages and a text message that said cab was on its way needless to say the cab never showed. Called Green cab the fair from pick up to destination was $9.00. I paid with my debit card. The driver either intentionally or unintentionally typed in $90.00. When it comes to cab service in Burlington, Green Cab is tops. I called and they arrived within 10 minutes. The driver was friendly and super accommodating. I realized I didn't have cash on me half way through the ride and offered to get out, and he instead took me by an ATM and waited 15 minutes as I drunkenly fumbled with my bank card (those damn diagrams...)-- he didn't charge me any extra! Green cab is the only cab service using hybrid vehicles in the area, and because of this they are able to charge the passenger much less than other cab companies (cough..Benways/Yellow Cab/Quik Cab). Safe driving as well, and those Priuses are so quiet. Almost silent...stealthy killers. read more

A week before I was scheduled to fly out of BTV, I booked a Green Cab. The process was very easy and I got an email and text confirmation that my reservation was recorded. I got a text the morning of my pickup to let me know the cab was on its way, along with a link to a website where I could track the driver and their ETA. We headed to the airport at 4:20 am on the dot. Awesome. Fast forward to a couple of days ago, when I called Green Cab to reserve a pickup at the Essex Junction train station. It was less than 24 hours prior to the pickup, and I was told that there would be a $10 deposit needed to make the reservation. The dispatcher told me to call if the train was running late so the driver wasn't waiting around. Okay, fair enough. My friend and I arrived at Essex Junction on time. It was dark and drizzling. And there was no Green Cab. In fact, we turned down several offers from drivers from other companies because we were expecting the Green Cab to pull up any second. After 10 minutes of waiting, I called. The dispatcher said that I should be getting a text any second about the driver's status. As if on cue, the text buzzed in my ear. After another 10 - 15 minutes, another Green Cab pulls up to pick up another fare. I explained the situation to the driver, and he told me that next time, I should call before we arrive so the cab would be waiting. I told him that the dispatcher told me to call only if we were running late and that I had put a $10 deposit down to guarantee the ride. He apologized, and checked the status of my cab. It was only a few minutes away (something I could've told him, since I had the link to track the driver). After getting picked up, we noticed that the fare, rather than starting at zero, started at $8.50. Hm. When my friend asked about it, the driver explained that it was their way of making sure the driver and the cab company didn't get ripped off, which was happening when the fare gauge started at zero. Um, okay. That makes no sense at all. You're going to rip off the customer, then? I asked if I'd get the $10 deposit back and he said yes. He deducted $10 from the end fare. But I am still puzzled about the $8.50 and will be following up with Green Cab today. Having an environmentally-conscious cab company in town is awesome, but there seems to be a lack of communication to staff about some of the policies, and some shady policies about fares. Having to wait for a reserved cab, weary from travel, in the cold drizzle was not a good experience. I'll probably opt for another cab company next time. read more

I am a frequent business traveler. I am usually flying out of BTV every/every other Monday, and have a 4:30 am pickup. Green Cab is great and has always showed up, rates are good too. My only gripe is that not once have any of the drivers gotten out, opened the door and taken my bags. I have used Green Cab for years, but unfortunately, they have become unreliable. Usually it's seamless, but on my way to the airport they sent me a text telling me a cab was on the way, and then an automated call to tell me they could not find a driver. When I called back, and finally got a real person, they told me they often are short drivers at the end of the 5pm shift. Really, that is what he said. Luckily. I have an awesome neighbor and was able to catch my airplane. I asked if I could count on Green Cab in the future but could not get a straight answer. I am currently in a cast and cannot drive, so my doctor's visit and subsequent lunch had me dependent on four different Green Cabs with four different drivers. The owner is super cool and reasonable. Their drivers are always kind, courteous, and easy to talk to. It's also nice not to get hit on every time I take a cab. We were celebrating a Birthday on a Friday evening and had planned ahead for transportation with Green Cab a day prior. We had requested a large van pick up our party of 6 to bring us downtown at a scheduled time (6:15pm). We had dinner reservations at 7pm and had preordered the 6-person van and put down a deposit to avoid any hassle or complications. We received a text message at 5:50pm stating the van was on its way to pick us up. By 6:30pm we had not received any further communication and were still waiting for our cab. We attempted to call multiple times, only to be put on hold by the dispatcher or hing up on. By 6:45 we decided to find alternate transportation. Unfortunately, we were late to our reservation and had made the arrangements with Green Cab to avoid this. Once we reached Green Cab via phone to inform them the scheduled Cab had never arrived and we had to find alternative transportation the gentleman on the other end was less than apologetic. All we asked for was a refund on the deposit and the gentleman hung up on us! Definitely won't be calling them ever again. the evening before my trip, I requested a cab for a 4:30 am ride to the airport and was surprised to see a cab waiting outside when I woke up at 3:40. I called the dispatch to remind them that I needed service for 4:30. He apologized and said there was a misunderstanding and that my cab would be there at 4:30. They did not arrive till 4:45 . (At the wrong address 2 houses away) the cab driver argued with me that she was there and I asked if it was normal to make a fare walk up the street to meet them. She finally looked in front of her car to see me walking toward her and pulled forward. I had to ask twice to stow my luggage in the trunk and now 20 minutes late she sped and ran stop signs to get my son and I to the airport . It was both stressful and scary.
