(My mother and I agreed that it tasted like fancy fish sticks, and if that sounds like faint praise, remember that there was no fish in it whatsoever, so it was convincing!) The service was great. Our server, who I think was also the chef, brought a small extra bowl for the soup without us asking because she'd overheard us saying it might be nice to share, and they were some lovely small touches like the water having a touch of lemon in it and the green tea we ordered, which was solidly decent, coming pre-steeped with no teabag so it didn't get sharp over the course of the meal. This would be a great restaurant for families or friend groups with a mix of vegans and non-vegans, who don't want to limit the vegan members in their options but still want crowd-pleasing and affordable food.
