To be honest, these refreshing drinks are the only reason I have been visiting this mall lately, since discovering them a few months back. They charge $4 for a large and have plenty of flavors to choose from. All the flavors are right in front of you, but if you're still not sure what flavor to pick just by looking at them, ask for a free sample. No need to guess. You can taste them all before making a decision. I personally have tried watermelon, mixed fruit and banana milk. Watermelon is still holding on strong as my favorite and banana milk is not too far behind. Green Crush is hard to miss if you're already shopping at the Montebello mall. They are located on the first floor, near the food court and across from the elevator. You can expect Green Crush to be surrounded by a crowd of people trying samples, but the line and wait time really depends on how busy the mall is that day. Waned a Pineapple drink so bad ... Walked up, and the young girl working the cashier was very nice, greeted with a smile and asked us for assistance. We wanted to sample the pineapple (which is the only reason we went) and one other, so she asked us to get assisted with the two gentleman by the drinks. Asked for a sample of pineapple and both of the guys laughed at us, and said they didn't have any, that they had "technical difficulties" with a very funny face as if something was up; as they joked with each other. I confirmed, by seeing no Pineapple "tub" so we sampled the Mango and Mixed Fruit. The guys kept joking around, which was cool and fun and all, but one of the guys, named - Anthony gave a rather RUDE attitude with his jokes, as if he didn't care - which was not appreciated. Was unfortunate that they did not have pineapple, and walked away with a Large Mixed Fruit (thanks for the up-sale on the size to the cashier who was great). The mixed fruit had good taste, but 1/4 through it, had to throw it away because every drink left you with very hard seeds in your mouth. I had the mango picante for $6.50 and was surprised by the monstrosity, but interesting enough I finished the whole thing in 2 hours sipping and sipping as I shopped. The place is located right outside the food court, they seemed to be very busy, it's definitely an upgraded aqua fresca joint, but I don't mind paying a little more for a bigger drink if it's that addictive...I'm thinking about going back this weekend just for this drink. The drink was nice in that it had pieces of watermelon and cucumber, the only issue was that there was an unusual sweet taste to the drink, not sure if it was due to the sweetener they use? This place is located by the food court in the mall. Montebello mall is pretty small so there's no way you will miss them. If anything just listen for the phrase "free sample". The guys are super loud and very energetic. Can't miss them. They have about 7-8 workers and about 5-6 of them have a huge agua fresca kinda gallon in front of them, all different favors. The others two are either chopping up fruits or vegetables and the other one is the cashier. They change the flavors often, by I've noticed that they always keep their pineapples, strawberry, cantaloupe, watermelon, and strawberry banana. They sometimes bring out pomegranate, guava, and strawberry lemonade? My favorites are guava, mix of watermelon and strawberry, and the pineapple. Everything is super fresh here. The cups are huge!! Worth every penny. The drinks are not too sweet which is nice. It is super refreshing, especially for the summer. I can get full off of these drinks easily. You can always mix and match. The staffs usually play around with the flavors and you can always ask what they recommend or created haha. Oh the process of ordering is you just line up, order with the cashier, the cashier gives you a receipt. Take the receipt and bring it to one of the boys and you will see them pour your fruit juice. You can always change your mind last minute and switch you flavors. But don't do that too often. It's annoying. The lines can get quite long so try to go on the weekdays or at an odd time. Probably the most empty headed food service staff I've ever encountered. Customer service at it's absolute worst. They could be giving away liquid gold for free and the idiotic staff would still screw up a very simple transaction. If I want to sample something before I buy it, it should be an easy task for the staff to complete, especially when they are giving away FREE samples to people who are just freeloading and have no intention of buying anything. What was there before Green Crush started business? I can't even remember, and come to think of it, I don't care. The agua frescas being sampled erased any memory of a former tenant. Like an evil drug pusher getting the unwary hooked on their product, their staff hand out sample after sample of whatever is being served that day. Not everything will be to your preference; the flavors in these drinks do not mess around- if you like kiwi, then you'll go ape-shit over their kiwi agua fresca. Likewise, if you don't care for the taste of kiwi, or worse, like my wife, allergic to that kind of fruit, stay away from it, or you'll be sucking down the tiny little kiwi seeds as well. The same go for the other flavors; each choice is packed with its signature flavor. Also, if you happen to be allergic to any of the fruit, these juices contain enough pulp to make your throat itch, if not force you to half-chew your drink down. The guava flavor is especially chunky. There is also a watermelon-chile that'll be perfect for anyone who enjoys the spice and the watermelon sweetness (not for me). My wife and I like this place so much that every trip to this mall means a mandatory stop at Green Crush. When summer arrives, this place will be mobbed. The method of service is a little different: you pay for your drink, you get a receipt, then you hand the receipt to one of the guys standing behind the big jars of agua fresca. The customer service is also very good. And for you ladies, the guys who do the pouring- and they are almost always male latino dudes- are very polite, friendly, and clean cut- I've never seen so many guys gathered in one place with threaded eyebrows. Somebody here really knows what they're doing, and how to get repeat business. The place always looks very clean, organized, and well-lit. This is definitely NOT your health department-evading roadside aqua fresca stand next to the bacon-wrapped hot dog cart. I believe they also sell smoothies and bionicos. I have to give 5 stars for customer service. Obviously the manager knows how important business is. For some reason, on our visit, the credit card machine broke down and they couldn't be sure if it has registered our payment or not. When Green Crush opened it was always a stop for me when going to the Montebello Mall. Aguas frescas galore! They switch up their flavors from day to day and they're all delicious. Then they started selling the picante crush, which was even more exciting because the Cerritos location had been selling them for awhile already and I was glad Montebello was stepping up. My satisfaction for the drinks remains the same, they just don't seem to disappoint. But the wait times are getting ridiculous. If you simply get an agua fresca you're not looking at too much of a wait. Go with the picante crush and wait 25 minutes. They're popular and yes, they have a lot of customers. But I'm complaining because the employees aren't efficient in providing the least possible wait time. I'd highly recommend the spicy mango and strawberry milk they were both excellent. However, it was a bit pricier for two drinks and by the looks of the reviews they increased the price of milk drinks by an additional $1.50+ so keep that in mind. Also the spicy mango drink was great but there was so much chamoy on the mango that it started dripping and falling on the ground as soon as we received it.
