The smoothies at Green Cuisine are absolutely amazing--perfect for a light breakfast, afternoon snack, post-workout drink, or healthy dessert! My personal favorite is the "Health Nut", which is vanilla yogurt, milk, peanut butter, banana, protein powder, and honey. Delicious! I have never tried the food here, but I have looked at the menu, which has some great options for those who don't want the unhealthy food the shore usually offers. I will have to try the food soon! Take advantage of the take-out option! I usually like to place my order over the phone, pick up my smoothie, and sip it in town so that I can people-watch ;) Not a fan of the interior, which looks like it is stuck in the 1980s. Green cuisine was a disappointment, even though the reviews were favorable. We waited too long to order and 15 minutes. It was 20 minutes until our food came to the table. The funny thing was being a Monday afternoon at 2pm with at least 6 empty tables and there was a pile of help in the kitchen. Food was nominal at best. If you are looking for vegan, ok. Came here after a nice outing at the zoo. Only too see animals in the food as well ! The food came out pretty quick. But once it got to the table there was roaches in the chicken sandwich. Once I bought this to the attention of the person at the register, he at first responded by sternly saying " no .. noo" and then proceed to apologize. The reason I am leaving this review is because only an apology and explanation was given. The meal it self wasn't eaten. No one offered a comped meal or even a small percentage of the check taken off. The place was full had we made a scene I bet things would have been very different. A person at the table did not eat and everyone else was scared to do so as well. I believe many wrongs were committed , the checking of the veggies prior to drop off , the disbelief of the guest , and the disregard to customer satisfaction from lack of accountability and accommodation. To steal a quote from a friend, finding good healthy food down the shore is like trying to find a unicorn. Green Cuisine is one of the few exceptions where you can take a break from all the cheesesteaks, pizza, burgers, and all things fried, and dine off a fairly healthy menu of salads, sandwiches, and wraps -- with a huge selection of vegetarian items, and a couple of Vegan options thrown in for good measure. Is it good? Yeah, it's good enough. Ingredients are fresh and you get decent bang for your buck. I tried the veggie burger, which would have been completely uninspired and boring tasting had I not ordered it with roasted red peppers and provolone. And even then I felt it needed to be kicked up some more so I threw on the freshly-made side of slaw on top. Then I had something worth eating. (Though at that point you'd have never known there was a veggie burger patty in there somewhere.) I was also happy to see that they served fresh kale-carrot-apple juice, even though I'd have preferred an option with more greens. My wife ordered the tuna salad sandwich. When asked how she liked it, she replied simply, "it was fine." That's kinda the headline here. There's a lot of good eats in Stone Harbor, but I don't know any that have this many healthy selections. For that reason, Green Cuisine is a keeper. Expect long wait times during peak hours in peak season. We waited about 20 minutes to get a table, and then at least another 35+ minutes for our food to come after placing our order. We took our toddler to the Cape May County zoo and wanted a nice lunch. This was a 15 minute ride with plenty of street parking and also public lots near by. Food was delicious and fresh. FINALLY a restaurant in the Stone Harbor/Avalon area worth going to! I was hesitant to try Green Cuisine due to my sacred vow as a meatatarian. However, my healthy girlfriend dragged me along. Well, I am glad I came! Everyone was correct. The Health Nut smoothie alone makes it all worth coming here. I ordered the closest thing I could find to meat, which was their special of the day: a crab cake sandwich. The gf had the eggless egg salad and loved it. I'm pretty sure I also got my whole day's serving of fruit from this one meal. Our server was so sweet. A little pricey (what isn't down this way), but well worth it. P.S. 3 stars for being one of the only vegetarian friendly restaurants in South Jersey. 2 stars if it were anywhere else. The restaurant has a very 90's health food crunchy vibe. Food is basic and generally in season in the summer months. Smoothies taste fine. As other Yelpers stated, it is a fabulous break from the pizza, custard, and steaks that you are normally inhaling while in NJ (not that I'm complaining, I looove NJ junk food!). What I love about GC is that they have so many vegetarian and vegan menu options. I do not always eat Veg but I like to throw a nice animal free meal into the mix when I can and this is a great place to do that without feeling like you're missing something. I love Green Cuisine ! It's a great quick stop for a healthy but filling lunch or fast dinner. Their menu offers a wide variety of healthy foods- anywhere from salads to healthy pizza's. My favorite is the turkey and brie wrap, I get it to-go all of the time. All meals come with a nice selection of fresh fruit. Unfortunately for me, the portions have gotten a bit smaller over the years. I guess they are doing their part in the obesity epidemic. Green Cuisine also has an extensive smoothie bar. I'm a vegetarian and lactose-intolerant. This was the only place in Stone Harbor that really seemed worth going to. My other meals in that town included hummus and pitas from WaWa, so you KNOW that town is lacking in good options! I had a hummus, veggie, and sprout pita that came with fresh fruit on the side, and I got an avocado as well. The pita was tasty and filling. I only managed to eat half of it. The side fruit included strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple among others, ranking it pretty highly on fruit salads I've had. The mango green tea smoothie was tasty too. read more

I was pretty excited to order from Green Cuisine. I'm a huge fan of a chicken Caesar salad and this place made claims on the menu of having roasted red peppers included on theirs. So I finally got around to ordering the salad for take out only to get an extremely sparse salad in a large container with no roasted red peppers. For over 16$, I felt like I had been robbed! I'm awarding three stars simply because the chicken on the salad was indeed pretty delicious. I'm one to give our second chances, but Green Cuisine blew it when I walked in the unlocked door at 10am to find out they weren't open yet. So why is the door unlocked, is my question? I eat lunch at Green Cuisine several times every summer. (They are closed in the winter.) I usually get the chicken salad on a toasted whole wheat pita. The chicken salad has mandarin oranges, sliced almonds, and just the right amount of onion. Every dish comes with a lovely side of fresh fruit...a small piece of watermelon, strawberries, kiwi, orange slices, and grapes. The specials here are always wonderful...usually something along the lines of gazpacho, kiesch, or even crabcakes. (If you see crabcakes as a special, get them!) Also be sure to check out the smoothie and juice list. Everything is so yummy and healthy. You really feel good after you eat here. I only wish they were open year-round! read more

I've now eaten at Green Cuisine twice. For the 1st visit, I'd have given 5 stars, for today's visit, I'd give 3.5 stars. The menu is quite broad and eclectic, and includes many vegan and vegetarian options--I love restaurants that offer me excellent vegan food! The specials are a mix of vegan and omnivore. They also offer a tempting selection of desserts. The service is very good and the food arrives promptly. They have a lot of great fruit salads, and the produce quality is outstanding. I've had the eggless egg salad twice, and today it was very weak, almost entirely celery with very little tofu--disappointing. My husband had the veggie burger and he thought it was also quite good. This place rocked my world! I went with my parents for a quick lunch, and we didn't even know the treat we were in for! We all got salads- i went for the eggless-salad platter which came with a good amount of lettuce to it. It came with the most delicious potato salad which i could tell was home made. The eggless egg salad fooled me! To have something so delicious that is still good for you was eye opening to me. Our waitress was great, service was quick, the iced tea i had got me through a pretty rough day... all in all this was just a great expereince. The menu is varied, and as meatatarians my partner and I were quickly able to find satisfying choices (mine ended up being veggie, go figure!) Our waitress was around exactly when we needed her (and absent when we wanted her to be--also important) and the food came out crazy fast, though we were at the tail end of a lunch crowd. Her chicken salad in a pita was tasty and balanced in flavor. No complaints from her as she finished the whole thing! My choice was not quite as expected-- described as a zucchini mushroom melt "from the oven," it was actually piles of shredded raw veggies on top of a pita, cheese on top with only the slightest suggestion of having touched heat. Most certainly only a fork-and-knife sandwich, I still demolished the whole thing, and it felt even healthier because the veggies were essentially raw. Both choices came with plenty of seasonal fresh fruit like black cherries, yellow watermelon, and obviously local strawberries. Big plus! I also liked the "add-ons" section which makes for a very make-your-own style. For dessert we tried the peach berry cobbler, which we decided needed more of the cobblery crumb topping simply because it was so good, and the fruit part was fresh and not too sweet. If you like peanut butter, this is the one for you! On my next visit, I got the brie and turkey wrap. It was good, but I feel it's hard to mess up a sandwich. I tried some of my friend's crab quiche. First off a single star is way to much for this place Do yourself a favor and don't even venture to this establishment! My family and I (10 month old child). Waited for over and hour to even get our food which did not come. We asked and still nothing. Finally had it and left. One waitress for 6 plus tables who btw attitude stunk and prob not her fault. The management/owners should have Robert Irvine give them a visit. Sorry I am willing to give every circumstance consideration when eating at an establishment but there is no excuse. Not even a sorry when we left. The amazing thing is that we saw some plaques of restaurant awards/reviews on the way in. Wonder who was paid off. Sorry no excuse!
