Been a life long Mandy's supporter since hitting it with old man Larry when you were still aloud inside. Today I called to ask what hot sandwiches they had while I drove on the parkway there. The woman on the food responded with "we have our menu posted on FACEBOOK and it gets posted every week" it took her longer to make that nasty comment then just tell me they got meatballs or maybe meatloaf or nothing at all! As a life long lover of Mandy's and I'm friends with the owners son I am hanging up the "good word" I serve on Mandy's because of the flat out snobby service. Shame on Mandy's. Not a huge fan of the "shore roll" (that's what I am going to call it), and I found the roast beef to lack a tiny bit of seasoning, BUT get a hot pepper spread with it and the tiger sauce that comes on the side makes up for everything. Finally tried Mandys after driving by for several years and only getting gas. I have to admit it was a fantastic sub (enough for 2) and probably had more meat in the Italian classic than I had ever had and a similar hoagie. The meat was fresh and full of flavor. I wish I had requested some mayo but I had that at home and the sandwich was perfect. I'm going back to try one of the other specialties they have. read more

Was planning to head to Cape May from Stone Harbor, but changed my mind mid way and stopped to get gas at the location where Mandy's Sub is located. Given the other Yelp reviews I decided to give it a try. The shop itself is pretty small. There is counter space to eat and 2 tables, otherwise I expect people are grabbing things to go. I had the roast pork + provolone with spinach, and the crab bisque soup. Overall my meal was great. Soup was good with lots of meat chunks which always is a highlight. The roast pork was also excellent, the meat was cooked well and the sub roll was dense enough to keep it all together without being an overkill on bread. In short very happy with my meal, and the staff was nice and friendly to boot. read more

I saw the positive reviews and decided to take the drive to Mandy's on a rainy Saturday downashore. Went with the "Classic Italian " with oil and vinegar. (Side note a hoagie should default come with lettuce +tomato+onion , there's no need to ask). The shop is small but cozy and was quite busy. The lady taking orders was friendly and the gent was the sandwich builder. I'm always cautious with anyplace that says "subs" not "Hoagie" The sandwich: hated the roll. To me the roll makes the sammy. Was too doughy and soft. I prefer more of a harder seeded roll like Primos uses. The meats were pretty good and came with sharp provolone. The oil was used sparingly but the vinegar was adequate. Iceberg lettuce and nice tomato were topped with nicely thin sliced white onions. Overall: a decent sandwich. The price of $8 combined with the lousy roll was a 2 star deduction. If you are going to charge Primos prices you better deliver that level quality. I also got a Crab Bisque for $3.50 that was excellent and filled with crab meat throughout. The soup was delicious! read more

Excellent family run business. Stopped in today with my family and we enjoyed our lunch. It is right behind the gas station but inside the place is nice and air conditioned. The soup was great, and homemade by the owner. The sandwiches were huge and very fresh. One of the owners Mandy gave our kids some fresh cookies which was a nice touch! Stopped by here yesterday after getting groceries at ACME. Ordered a turkey and Italian sub to go at 10am for the beach. Pricing was good for 2 subs. Got down to the beach a few hours later and wow. They make a good sub would return. We're staying in Avalon and did beach subs from a few other places. Tasted terrible compared to this place. Would recommend here and portions are big. The sandwich is decent, however they never answer their phone. The bread was hard, I had to almost pull it away to rip off a bite. They also tried to get over on us, we ordered 3 sandwiches and 2 soups which should have been around $30 something dollars, she tried to charge us over $50 and refused to give us a receipt.
