We have lived in Carrollton for almost 2 years now and it was time to get regular pest control going. Since we try to live as toxin-free as possible and have fur babies, Green Defense seemed a good choice. I sent them a message through Yelp and they were extremely responsive and answered all my questions. We moved into a condo that we purchased that was empty and had been renovated. The building was older but the grounds are well-kept etc. We soon noticed a roach problem in the common-wall kitchen which we tried to take care of ourselves for a little while. Between your quarter, they'll come out as many times as needed -- which had been key. This company is amazing!!! We contracted them for Bi-Weekly Mosquito Service! They came and sprayed our yard yesterday. Already I can tell the difference! It has been wonderful to hang out with our family for the 4th of July today without worrying about whether or not if we were going to get attacked by mosquitoes! The mosquito solution used by them is non-toxic for both pets and human interactions. No more hiding inside our house and wishing we can be in the swimming pool. Now I can go for night swims!! Do not do business with Green Defense! They are dishonest and will rip you off! They came by our house and said they were spraying in the area and offered a special deal. We agreed, they sprayed, we paid. They assured us there was no would be any contract but they might follow up later. A week ago they sent an email saying they were going to come by and spray again. We replied to email saying "No thanks, we're good!". Today, 06/09/2023, they came to house and knock on the door saying they were here to spray. I told them we had replied to the email indicating that we did not want the service. They said they didn't "hear" anything from us and then walked away. I have a copy of the email I sent and a copy of their reply saying they had canceled the appointment. Later today I seeing that they charged my credit card without providing any service and without authorization. read more

We used GD for rodent control in our attic. They patched the holes we had and then have been very diligent in return trips and placing lots of traps to catch all the animals in our attic. I would definitely use them again. read more

I had a raccoon that was getting into my attic via my chimney. Shane came out and explained exactly what he was going to do to catch the raccoon or to get it out. He put new mesh around the chimney cap and sealed up any possible open spots where critters could get in. He also noticed that we had acrobat ants and caught them before they became a problem. He made many visits to make sure the raccoon was gone for good and even set traps for Rats in case they were keeping the raccoon company. It's expensive but it's worth it! read more

I can't believe how nice and HONEST these guys were. We were afraid we had a termite problem in our wall. Ricardo came out promptly to take a look and, based on the residue found at the chewing site, said he didn't believe it was termites, but rather ants. We expressed great relief and said we would take care of it from there with common baits. We are getting ready to sell our house and much more concerned with termites! No charge for the inspection and advice, which was also nice. So we didn't use their services, but what a nice guy and a nice company to deal with. read more

I've been using them for years, back when they were originally Venus Pest Control. One person in my neighborhood recommended them so I gave them a try. Really glad I did. WhenI bought my house in 2013, it had been vacant about 3 months while it was having a minor flip. April, May, June, and into July when I bought it. Just enough time to have bugs all over it soon after I moved in. I had a horrible infestation of German cockroaches, it was horrible! They were everywhere, on all of my electrical outlets, dozens in every room. I had never seen anything like that. I didn't want to use harsh chemicals for personal/medical reasons, but I was starting to panic about it as I knew I couldn't live this way any longer. These guys were great - came out and told me about the biologicals they use to stop reproduction of the pests. They were straight up telling me it won't stop overnight, it takes time but once it works, it works. They were correct. They came out every 3 months (quarterly) and did an inside and outside treatment. Nothing smelly. Nothing that would hurt me or my pets. It took 6 months or 2 full treatments to notice a big difference....and that was that. I've been clean ever since. Not a trace ever since early 2014. They continue to come quarterly. You can choose to not have them do the inside (and during Covid-19 they are only doing outside) so then you don't have to be home for the outdoor treatment. They send you an email a week before and then 3 days before the appointment in case you need a reminder or you need to reschedule. My next door neighbor was so impressed she now uses them and has been impressed with the results. They also have one time options you can add on. Never had an issue in 7 years that I have now been using them, only positive experiences. Highly recommended! read more

I will be updating this review once we can tell if the mosquito service worked, but for now, I would just like to say, Green Defense does customer service right! I was wowed by the level of kindness, respect, and professionalism. I called at first and received the voicemail. In the voicemail, they stated that sometimes they can get back to you faster via text. I would rather text as well, so I hopped on the opportunity and received a message within 5 minutes. From there, the exchange was great. They answered all of my questions regarding pet safety, price quotes for both mosquito and general pest services. They are practicing social distancing and will enter a home only upon request and with a mask. I was able to schedule an appointment within a week of contacting them. They not only came on time, they were in the neighborhood and ended up asking if they could come 45 minutes early, which I was of course okay with. Our tech was very good on the phone as well. I received an invoice via e-mail about 30 minutes after he finished, so no human-human contact was necessary. I will update with more details on the service itself as I notice a decrease in bugs. read more

We had Venus come out for a second opinion after having been told by another pest control company that we had termites that required treatment. Rob from Venus did an inspection for us and determined we in fact did not need termite treatment. Rob was super professional but also friendly, and he did not charge us for his very thorough inspection or his time. We are now going to switch to Venus for our routine pest control service. Rob answered the call and came here rather promptly.. apparently his company has been inundated with work orders due to mosquitoes and worries about the west nile virus.. he got rid of two paper wasps nests and sprayed down the rest of the exterior of my property got rid of any mud daubers.. hopefully i won't have to call him again.. but if i ever need pest control.. he'll be earning back my business read more
