This review is from the perspective of a shopper at Bluestem estate sales. I'm also an online…read morereseller of vintage goods, so I go to lots of estate sales. Positives: The owners are very nice and always greet each customer. The homes usually are well-displayed and items are visually appealing. Most items have a price tag (except at their"discovery sales," in which almost nothing is priced and you have to dig out items and negotiate a price). Negatives: Prices. Absolutely ridiculously high prices. Some unsold items reappear at future sales. Summary: Despite some positive traits, I can't recommend this company as a shopper because the prices are outrageous. I don't even bother to attend their sales anymore unless I just happen to be nearby already. It's sad because when they first started out, they had very reasonable prices and I would attend all their sales. Sadly, now It's just not worth the time and effort. And often, they are in nice homes with interesting inventory. I would spend some money, but you have to leave a little "meat on the bone," so to speak. There's no way I could make money reselling any of this. Maybe they don't want resellers and if that is the idea, then mission accomplished. I'm just not going to pay above retail or eBay prices, whether as a reseller or for my own use. These are used items and you only have a few days to sell them. Why are you asking $4 for a used light bulb? Or $5 for one random electronics cord? (See pictures). Those are prices for junk items. Use your imagination on how much they try to ask for items that do actually have value. Even at half price day, I would still consider their items overpriced. You get the point. My bottom line is that I can get better deals at Brown Button estate sales, and they are notoriously overpriced. And at least with Brown Button, the items almost always come from ultra high end million dollar homes. That's not the case with Bluestem. To this company: Please reevaluate your pricing strategies. I like pretty much everything else about your business, but you've priced me and I'm sure many others like me out of the market.

I don't want to get into bidding wars with people just trying to find a new fun thing to have in their lives sorry about the new approach. again like another reviewer said before they went to all online betting I would have given them a five plus star rating

They washed the extensive amount of glassware, polished my mom's silver, setup tables and truly transformed the house. Its pretty amazing. They did what we couldn't do..Detach emotions and memories to do what needed to get done..The sale was much more productive than we thought it would and within a week the house was completely empty and payment received. I expected the second day would be more crowded (50% off) but there were fewer people lined up, maybe 10. The Cashier was super friendly and not stressed! They took apart a king size bed frame for us!
