After searching extensively for furniture for our new home, we heard about Green Front in Farmville and decided to make the trip. The sheer number of buildings and options was overwhelming, but we eventually found the perfect chairs--exactly what we had been looking for. Although they were more expensive than we initially planned, the quality convinced us they were worth the investment. We selected the fabric and were told to expect a wait. We placed the order on October 11 and received a call on December 21 that the chairs were ready. Excited, we made the trip back to pick them up--but thankfully, we followed instructions to inspect them before leaving. One of the chairs had noticeable black stains on the back and arm. After discussing the issue with a manager, we opted to send the chair back to be reupholstered, as the alternative offer of a $150 discount didn't feel fair or reasonable. We were told the repair would be expedited. Unfortunately, communication was poor, and despite multiple follow-ups, we didn't receive the reupholstered chair until March 12--five full months after our original order. Not once did anyone apologize or make an effort to take responsibility. The response we got was simply that "orders can take 10 to 16 weeks or longer," as stated in their policy. The chairs themselves are beautiful and exactly what we envisioned, but the customer service experience was deeply disappointing. Because of how we were treated and how poorly the situation was handled, I wouldn't shop at Green Front again or recommend it to others. I recently purchased a dresser from this location. My salesman, Edward, was fantastic -- pleasant, funny, and knowledgeable. He made the purchase process smooth and enjoyable. Later, when there was an issue with my dresser delivery (a missing support leg), Jessica from corporate customer experience was also wonderful. She was professional, kind, and quick to resolve the problem by arranging delivery and installation. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Patrick, the GM at the Manassas location. Even before my purchase, I noticed he gave off a dismissive, unsure vibe. When I had to speak with him about the missing dresser part, he was unprofessional, talked over me, and had a condescending tone -- even mentioning he was on his way to vacation with his wife, as if I should be grateful he bothered to call me. A GM should know how to maintain professionalism with customers, especially when the customer is calm and respectful. If my only interactions had been with Edward and Jessica, this would easily be a 5-star review. However, the lack of professionalism from management really soured the experience. read more

Was really excited to pick out items for a home I'm remodeling and thought I'd get good guidance from the sales associate. WRONG! Was assigned an associate named Rosemary who could have cared less. I found a great vanity and wanted to check about ordering, but after standing next to her for 90 seconds at her desk - with not a soul around, she completely ignored me. Seemed like there were 5-6 other associates that would have been happy to take the commission - as there were only 2 other customers in the entire place. I don't understand the negative reviews, especially about the quality of furniture. Those reviews must be from people who have not shopped there. I have been in the store twice, bought a nice Rowe sofa the second visit. Both times the service people were outstanding. The salesperson who helped me with the sofa, Edward, had the patience of a saint as I am not the most decisive. They have a huge selection of beautiful furniture and amazing art as well. Is it cheap? No, but it's also not junk, I was hoping to find something that would last, and hopefully I did. I gave Green Front every opportunity to prevent this post. Bought a $1,250 Precedent Ottoman that took 14 weeks to arrive and when it did, it was (unbeknownst to me) broken. Someone at Green Front tried taking the broken acrylic leg (that's supposed to be screwed into the base) and glue it instead. COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE. The leg lasted about 3 weeks until the thing broke off (see photos). I was offered a $100 store credit (which is an insult that I refused) and then waited 2 weeks for a new leg to arrive that could be screwed in. A rep came to my house, installed the leg and was shocked at how the Ottoman passed Green Front's "quality standards." All the while I was on the phone with the store manager multiple times trying to explain that someone in his shop deliberately made this piece of furniture unsafe and someone (my kids, family) could have been seriously injured. I was finally told, "I don't know what you're expecting. This is the furniture business." I sent a letter to the CEO and COO of Green Front documenting all of this and never heard from them. Buyer beware. Recommend you stay away. We have had the worst buying experience of a lifetime with Green Front Manassas. No accountability, responsibility or follow up and through. This is not a COVID shipping delay problem. The issues are leadership and complete lack of customer service. No stars was not an option, but that is my overall rating. Don't get sucked in with their showroom size and variety. They can't deliver furniture or customer service. We ordered a table and chairs in September 2020. Dealt with the stated delays in manufacturing and shipping due to COVID. Have bought other pieces of furniture elsewhere, actually received it and been treated as a paying customer. With Green Front Manassas, trying to find anyone interested in getting us an update on our order and delivery date is near impossible. Actually get someone on the phone to explain the situation and ask for an update ---- good luck getting that person or anyone in management to call you back as committed. They don't care one bit and if they do, they do not show it. Ask for management and you get someone just as incapable and unprofessional as their sales reps. It is April 14th, 2021 and after many missed delivery dates, they still want to call back after research to get me an update. Problem is, they NEVER call back. Message to senior leadership: reputation is everything. once you lose the COVID excuse, you will lose reputation due to customer service and that equates to lost customers and lost revenues. I had a wonderful experience shopping at Green Front Furniture in Manassas. Kerry is an excellent sales associate and was very supportive, helpful, and not pushy at all. She understood our needs and helped us find exactly what we were looking for. Green Front focuses on mid-range brands, many of which are constructed in the USA or Canada. No cheap particle board here! The shopping experience can be overwhelming in the massive warehouse space so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The sales person was horrible. This place is huge and had lots to offer. But don't expect help in finding it. The first thing she said was that the rug size was not possible. I find that strange as I own a rug that exact size. The sales person flipped through lots of rugs before I realized that she was not actually helping me look for the color I was looking for totally frustrating experience. I come here for the rugs, which I love. They have an excellent selection and great prices. Were it not for their policies on returns and commissions, I would give them five stars. The rug room is a completely separate part of the store with its own staff, who are awesome. They hustle all day taking down, hanging, and moving very heavy rugs to help customers find the right rug. They really go out of their way to make it easy, and it's a fantastic experience. Everything changes, though, when it comes time to make the purchase. The guys in the rug room apparently aren't allowed to ring anything up or make a commission. They ask instead if we're working with a salesperson. It confuses me every time they ask. "Aren't you my salesperson?" I respond. Behind their forced smiles I can see that they share my confusion, and we're both frustrated. They tell me I have to have someone in the furniture store ring me up. That's when I have to walk over there and wait in line for a surly furniture salesman with greasy charm to ring me up and presumably make the commission. They recite their return policy to me, which I despise: You can return for store credit or pay a 15% restocking fee. But here's the thing, you don't know if the rug you like is going to look good in your house until you put it in your house. And 15% doesn't sound like a lot, but when the rug is $2,000, that's 300 bucks! So once you've tried the rug, you're locked in at that price and at Greenfront. If you see something at another store, too bad. If you find something at a lower price at Greenfront, oh well. But here's why it really boils my blood: I'm a really good customer. I've bought six rugs from Greenfront, and when I point this out and ask them to maybe see the forest for the trees, they talk about how the policy is supposed to deter people from buying a rug to have at a lavish party and then returning it the next day. I found two carpets that I absolutely loved at Greenfront in Manassas Va before the holiday. I went there today for a purchase. As I walked in I noticed a dog walking on top of the piles carpets alongside some workers. So I had to remove my carpets in my house due to allergies. The previous owner had pets. So I politely asked if its normal to have dogs walking on the carpets that are for sale and he answered yes with a look of disgust that I even asked. I was disappointed and walked to the main store. I asked the woman behind the desk if it was common practice to allow animals on the rugs and she said "yes we are an animal friendly store". This is unbelievable. I will bet they would not allow children to walk on top of the piles of carpet. I will not be spending my money there. I think this is absurd. read more

I'd give them a minus 100 if possible. Huge showroom, lots of furniture. Very few matching pieces. And lots of orphan items. Colors are lousy and you have little choice of complete sets. Extremely high prices, well over list, for what are floor samples. Nothing on the floor is brand new. If you want anything in another color or size not on the floor, you have to pay more and wait for up to 9 months. I have no idea who buys from them - no middle income person can afford the absurd prices. They have a very simple return policy - none. Once you pay for it, It's yours, no ifs ands or buts. Buyer beware. Yes, they have some good prices. But, we spent about $12k in furniture and have had an issue with every single piece of furniture delivered- damaged in some way. This is an ongoing issue and I can't even get the store to call me back when they have promised to do so. They have a new manager. Greenfront is a good place to shop for furniture. There's a lot there, and a mix of custom order and stuff you can buy off the floor. Customer service at this location is good. The sales person I worked with was helpful but not pushy, and checked in without hovering. I bought one piece of furniture off the floor, and paid $200 to have it delivered the following week. The delivery people showed up an hour early with no notice (thank goodness I was home). Then the driver badgered me for a tip after I had already paid $200 for delivery. He was very persistent, and I felt uncomfortable. I would have let Greenfront know, but no one ever followed up to see if I was happy with my furniture or delivery. read more

A warehouse extension of the legendary Greenfront Furniture store. Based in Farmville, the Manassas warehouse on the outskirts of town is chock full of all sorts of furnishings. Be sure you take directions from the website before heading over here - the GPS won't find the street it's on beyond Rte. 234. And be prepared to drive through empty roads to find a simple warehouse marked by an unobtrusive sign. Every piece of furniture imagineable can be found in this store in addition to a HUGE selection of area rugs. And the prices - what a deal! You would pay just a fraction of what you would pay for the same item at Pottery Barn and Restoration for comparable (if not better quality). The large area rugs I was looking through were at least half of what you would pay at the main chain stores, and there were some at even bigger discounts. The one drawback to this place is that most everything tends to be of the more traditional aesthetic, so the Persian-inspired area rugs didn't cater too much to my transitional/contemporary design aesthetic. According to the sales staff the inventory changes depending on when they get shipments from the Farmville stores. If you're looking for something in particular keep checking their inventory and you should find what you're looking for. read more

You know, Greenfront Furniture Manassas,was a major disappointment. I walked into the main warehouse, all the workers behind the desk didn't greet or say a word. Obviously, it was our first trip to the store. It will be the last to Manassas, Walked around for 1 hour and only one person ever spoke, it was someone who was working in shipping. After hearing rave reviews of Greenfront, they must didn't talk about Manassas. I went to warehouse II where leather and entertainment centers are located. Interesting thing, no sales person and nobody else was there. I actually found a Century leather sofa of interest. I took a yellow sticky and got the stock number and determined that if I went to Farmville or another local furniture store, I would buy elsewhere. Still shopping around but never to ever return to that location. You drive around Northern Virginia looking for quality and unique furniture. The staff in Manasssas need to be trained on customer service. At least have a sign that says if nobody is in building xyz, call the main warehouse. I am sure the 5 or 6 other people who walked in while I was in 2nd warehouse they felt the same. Browse and leave and never to find anyone. Overall, great experience! My boyfriend and I recently moved to Centreville from upstate NY. We were looking to purchase a quality sectional for our living room as we left our old furniture behind. After visiting several furniture stores we kept coming back to how impressed we were with the quality and selection from Greenfront in Manassas. We ended up purchasing a Bernhardt sectional on our second visit to Greenfront and were blown away by how quickly it was delivered (purchased Wednesday, delivered Friday morning!). We have been going here for almost 2 years. Probably made 20 trips here. Furnished nearly our entire house from here. I read some of the negative reviews. I think all of those people missed the point. This place ain't Ethan Allen. It's a warehouse. But if you know how to shop you can find and buy furniture that cost 1/3 the cost of Ethan Allen and more importantly they have Sooooooo much selection and variety whereas Ethan Allen has very limited choice. Again, it's a warehouse. Many items are damaged. Don't get those. And the abundance of choice may be too overwhelming for most. But for the wise shopper you will find items you can't find anywhere else; you will find them at a fraction of the cost AND you will get your delivery a few days later and not have to wait 4 months!! We haven't always found what we need. We've made 20 trips and probably bought a stuff on less than half the trip but this place is THE best furniture store outside of North Carolina and for people who live in DC, VA or MD, North Carolina is too far a trip when this place is right here! I was in the market for a desk, so we took a little road trip here not too long ago. We used the TomTom GPS on my boyfriend's Omnia II and were able to located it with no issues. It is a large warehouse with all sorts of knickknacks and doodads. Sadly, I came out empty handed. The type of style they offer in their furniture just didn't jive with me. I agree with a previous reviewer: their furniture looked extremely sturdy but they were not meant for small spaces. It's worth a visit when you've purchased a home and are looking to fill it. Also, if you have allergies, pop a Claritin before making the trip here. Staff, however, were courteous. Best prices around, including North Carolina! My favorite thing is you can buy right off the floor which I have done many times. I have never had a problem with damage, delivery, or service ever. There is always a great selection. I can't see a reason to go anywhere else- in fact, you would be wasting your time if you did. So I just moved here and bought a house, as I'm scrolling to find a place to buy good quality furniture for less than a fortune I saw this store on google. It had 4 stars and the comments said they had decent prices, so I tried it out. When I walked in there were maybe 10 people in this giant store and each seemed to be with an associate. As I was walking around the store I was hoping someone could help me out as it can get confusing in there, but associates seemed to look at me and walk away. I spent about 45 minutes there walking around (even passed the front desk multiple times) and no one said a word to me. There were 5 people at the front desk just chatting away and they would even greet new people! I make decent money, and I was willing to spend up to 10k on furniture for my house. I went into this store with jeans and a sweatshirt on and I'm assuming they didn't want to help me due to this fact (picking up what I'm throwing down?). On top of this, I found an amazing sectional that I loved! As I'm sitting on it an associate with a customer walked up and I let the customer know "this is amazing", the customer looked at the couch then sat on it. After she got up she announced she didn't really like the look of it, the associated had the balls to say, and I quote, "yeah I guess it's nice if you like wrinkles and tack". Like what??! I just said I thought it was amazing, wow I must have horrible "tacky" taste then. Spent about $15k on furnishings for my new home. Most of the furniture arrived damaged. The furniture that needed to be ordered was not shipped, and it appears it was never ordered. They have been non-responsive since the delivery. While the salesperson told us the damaged furniture would be replaced with new, we have not heard if anything has been ordered or when we will receive it. If they make things right, I'll change my rating, but for now, I would not buy furniture here unless it's something small that you can take with you when you purchase. read more

I love this place. After living with roomies for years, I finally decided to get my own place about a year ago. Since I had nothing other than bedroom furniture, I had to start from scratch. I went to Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, and I forget how many other places looking for furniture. I'm picky about furniture, and I believe Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn to be overpriced for the quality. Restoration Hardware is nice quality, but way too expensive for me (I almost think you have to be shopping in the Stickley market to consider Restoration Hardware a deal). A friend of a friend told me about Greenfront. And I agree with the other reviews that it is a bit hard to find. I had a great experience here - I bought a couch, chairs, coffee table, dining room table and side tables. The quality is great (no particle board or couches that you can pick up with two fingers..). The prices are amazing . While it's not cheap, the furniture is far superior to most of the stuff you'd get at Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel for the same price. The service was great - the salesman who helped me was very knowledgeable and attentive, and the delivery was fantastic. My furniture was delivered to the minute it was promised (that doesn't even happen with pizza delivery at my place...). The only downside I can see is that most of their furniture is not meant for a small space - i.e. if you live in an apartment/condo in the DC/Arlington area, you're going to have to look harder to find furniture to fit your space. A lot of their selection seems more suited for McLean McMansions. That said, I still had no problem finding beautiful furniture that fit my apartment (in a contemporary style, although they do seem to focus on more traditional furniture). I absolutely recommend this place for buying furniture - I feel like good quality at a fair price is such a rarity, you should try and spread the word about retailers who do it right. read more
