I had a really positive experience with green home solutions. I was referred to them after completing a PECO energy assessment. They work with peco so customers can get access to energy efficiency rebates. Peco gives you a home report and that gives the green home folks a map to properly insulating and sealing your home. They fixed a failing heat pump outdoors and insulated my basement. Truly was impressed with the work completed. The guys were always very respectful of my home and my multiple pets. I also value the way they do business. I live in a older home and we ran into a issue trying get insulation into my attic. In order to do the work the bill would have gone up another $5k for various reasons. They very transparent as to why. I did not move forward on the attic insulation and I never felt pressured to do so. Have to save up a bit before we tackle the attic insulation but would certainly go with this company again and will get a quote from them when the time is right. read more

So as not to bury the lead: Shoddy workmanship, unprofessional communication, and an anxiety-inducing process the entire way. Would never recommend. Be cautious if considering doing business with this company. In 2016, we selected GHS from a list of PECO recommended companies to install an entire HVAC unit (indoor air handler and outdoor condenser unit). After our horrible experience with GHS, I can't imagine how they made the list. On the installation day, the technicians dropped the system on the ground. One year later, a normal power outage fried the wiring to our thermostat, something that had never occurred before GHS installed our unit. A team came to replace it and left two poorly spackled holes in our ceiling (hallway and bathroom). Fast forward to 2019, and our heating bills skyrocketed. During a routine preventative maintenance, we learned that the unit was sorely low on refrigerant. GHS blamed hypothetical teens stealing refrigerant, another company messing with the system, etc. After at least four visits from GHS technicians in futile attempts to locate and repair a leak during the heat of summer, during which we needed to invest in multiple window AC units, a new outdoor condenser unit was installed. Fast forward to September 2020, and unit was once again 2 lbs. lower on refrigerant. GHS's owner could not fathom how we would be upset with his company rather than Lennox, claiming we had somehow received not one but two faulty units in a row. We have zero faith in GHS to fix the problem at this point, and we have invested over $10,000 in the process. read more

We had GHS do some work in our home called air sealing to improve the insulation and that worked out well. We had them also replace our heat pump and air handler with a new Lennox system. It required repairs twice in the first 90 days. Now, 5 years later, the coil in the air handler is leaking and so corroded that it requires replacement. We have a 10 year warranty with Lennox but the GHS did not have the professionalism or the courtesy to return my calls. I called 3 times and left messages each time but did not receive a call back. Clearly they do not stand behind Lennox or their own work. I had to call another HVAC provider who scheduled a call right away. They will work with Lennox to replace the coil but had to charge me for all of the labor. Now I have a $2100 repair bill on a 5 year old system. Thanks GHS! Green Home Solutions - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Morrisville, Pennsylvania

(July 26th 2022) I have been without A/C since 7/6/2022. A part is supposedly on order but I have not heard from these folks since their visit on the week of 7/6 or so. I will try to outline occurrences in chronological order. This company- GHS Audits/ Green Home Solutions (Morrisville, PA) Ross Lopez- owner Michael Reichert- service, was referred to me by PECO after a completion of an energy audit of my home. I assumed their referral was to be trusted. I subsequently hired them to "weatherize" my home, install a heat pump (supplemental to my existing oil furnace) and central air. ($11,077.98) They have been out at least 4 times now to "fix" things that were done improperly from the install which occurred around 10/2020. (October 2020) Shortly after the install, I notified them of a leak and the smell of plastic when my furnace was running. (January 2021) They finally came out and "fixed" the leak. (refrigerant leak due to poor brazing) Did not address the smell of plastic. My winter electric bills INCREASED from prior to install. (To be fair, I did cut down on oil usage.) (January 2022)- I have a different company come out to clean the air ducts in my home. They inform me that whomever installed the A/C, has the condensation hose line running from the coil INTO my basement emptying INSIDE the house, not exiting outside as is proper procedure, causing must , mold and mildew. I notify them, (GHS) They come out and "remediate" . (February 17, 2022)- I woke up to the smell of smoke and saw that there was black smoke coming out of the vent of my bedroom and filling the entire house. Shut down furnace for safety measures. I am strictly using the heat pump at this time, (set to 67) will not get above 61. A Furnace, service person comes out to evaluate the situation. Cracked heat exchange on the furnace. Okay, furnace is old. I am going to need a new furnace. Going to find out why the heat pump isn't working up to snuff: There is ANOTHER refrigerant LEAK. The pressure is way low and he (furnace service person) had to add 9 lbs of refrigerant. ($405) ( He also added dye so that they could detect where the leak is) However, afterward he found the/a leak. There is a crimp in the copper tubing just inside, near the furnace area that will need to be repaired. He (furnace service person) was not going to work on that since we agreed that this something that should be repaired by the installer. (GHS) GHS did come out to repair the leak. Still awaiting reimbursement for the refrigerant. (July 6, 2022)- I went down to change the air filter on the HVAC unit(s) There is Water everywhere, slowly pouring out of the bottom of the set up. There appears to be no water or condensation exiting through the line. The condensation is now just pouring down through the furnace and into my basement. The AC unit shuts down. GHS comes out to investigate. The plastic condensation pan melted. Supposedly they have another pan on order. I've been told, and now know, this happened because there was not sufficient clearance between the furnace and the a/c coil installed by GHS, resulting in the pan melting. I have also been told that the coil should be replaced as it is more than likely compromised because of the exposure to heat. I honestly do not want GHS to touch anything in my house again... A new HVAC company will be installing a new furnace for me AND making recommended adjustments to the poor install that was done by GHS. (11,499.00) The company is well respected in the industry and said their work was more than haphazard. read more

We used Green Home Solutions for adding insulation to our attic and then contracted with them for servicing our HVAC and AC systems. They are very reliable and honest. All charges are quite reasonable, and we never have felt that we are being taken advantage of. We have had the same technician Mike every year so he is familiar with our system (unlike prior companies). Mike has come out on weekends if we have a problem and never leaves us hanging. And the head of the company is very accessible and on top of every aspect of the business. You won't go wrong with Green Home Solutions. read more

Had PECO audit done and picked GHS for some of the recommended fixes, including new attic insulation & flooring, ventilation fans in the bathrooms, and a new HVAC unit. When they were finished 1/3 of our house had no power and switches for the fans that were installed were not flush to the wall and had holes around the covers. We also discovered later that the inside unit for the HVAC was not completely sealed to the ductwork. The back of the unit had a 1 inch gap the whole length. We have had the new HVAC system for 4-5 years now and have had nothing but problems with it. Something needs to be fixed/replaced every year and we have spent over $3000 in repairs. Would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I called this company to inspect our home for mold. The guy showed up on time and checked around and allegedly did some tests. He told us to wait 2-3 business days for the results. It has been over 3 weeks, I have contacted multiple times about our results and quotes for possible remediation services, and they keep telling me they will check on it. Very unprofessional company. Save your money for someone more organized and professional and who will actually follow through with doing the actual job. read more

If you look at their website they have only 5 star reviews, because the company only posts those that they approve, so obviously they don't publish the negative comments, but look elsewhere. We used Green Home Solutions to have mold removed from our basement and install a waterproof flooring barrier. We took off work to be home during the project. James (the owner) was over two hours late to show up the first day. We scheduled the flooring work for a few weeks later. We had not heard anything from James since he left our house the first day, so we contacted him the day before the work was scheduled to confirm he was still coming. Only then did we find out the materials were not in so he wasn't going to show up and we rescheduled for the following week. We had originally been told 3 days to a week for materials to come in. Again we took off work and again he was several hours late. He was a nice enough guy so we were willing to overlook all that... Then we got the final bill and there was an error. The price was correct, but things were listed incorrectly and we needed it fixed to settle a claim with our home warranty. Green Home had already been paid in full and we were not disputing anything. So we contacted James to get it resolved. But we haven't been able to get ahold of him. We have repeatedly emailed, called, and left voicemails but he has completely ignored us since he left our house. We tried calling him and he doesn't answer the phone, we tried calling the number on Green Home's website and did talk to a person who told us he has been very busy and she would make sure he called us back. Nothing. The work was done in August/Sept and it is now Feb and he just keeps ignoring us. We haven't been able to settle our claim with our home warranty because the bill is still coded wrong. Also the quality of the work you get for what you pay, is a joke. Completely unrelated to that billing issue, they charged us $500 for mold containment. That sounded reasonable when we got the quote. But the only containment done was literally putting blue painters tape around the basement door. Also the $3000 waterproofing solution we were sold, and then had to wait to arrive, turned out to be nothing more than rolls of textured black plastic duct taped together. What a joke. read more

I just had an energy audit done the first week of January. The audit was a program that was offered by PECO and that led me to this company for contract work. They were all very professional and very thorough, from the initial auditor, the contract guy and the contractors. They examined my home (which is all electric) and found areas that we were having substantial "leaks," which are not the same areas I was assuming that the air leaks were coming from throughout my house. (I assumed I needed new windows).. I invested in the service just in time for a winter weather advisory of "30 mph winds with gusts up to 50mph and temperatures that range record lows of 1 degree to 15 degree high".. That weather would have been intolerable in my house before this contract company fixed the source of leaks. During the month of January, before the work was done, we had our heat set above 72 degrees and we were still walking around inside house in jackets, hats and scarves. The job was completed this past Friday, right before this winter advisory, and today we are comfortable in our house with temperature set at 69 degrees. The contractors completed their job and told me a few other things we can do to increase efficiency, for example "fix our fireplace flu and replace 2 windows." At least it's not the 20 windows I initially thought had to be replaced! read more

Wow, what a huge nightmare dealing with this company has been. They've cancelled appointments, no-showed, had to return to do another assessment because they lost our paperwork, not returned calls, and, finally, they said the work would cost $1200, instead of the $230 we had already paid them. I feel like giving these.....people..... a star is too much. After staying home from work to meet Ross (the owner for god sakes) several times before he actually showed (and still late) i felt like i was fed BS and what I wanted to hear to get a sale. I'll admit there is some knowledge from this "business" person but the estimate was supposed to be coming my way in a few days to get things moving was months of waiting and calling and not getting anything. TERRIBLE FOLLOW UP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. i can't imagine what would happen if they had gotten my money. Finally they said they had to come back out to finalize the estimate and from the other reviews i read here I am assuming that is code word for "i lost your information". I talked to someone else who actually made it through there nightmare "process" to getting the work done and there were a myriad of issues as well but mainly from the sales/owner the workers and installers seemed nice and professional-ish. Maybe this salesman should go back to his old job of tricking people into buying time shares......and stop pretending to care about the customers.... Had a much better, lovely wonderful process with another weatherization company. This one was legit and professional and seemed to actually care about me and my home. But I will be nice and not advertise for them..... read more

Their FREE audit was worth every penny! What a waste of time. They promised a report by the end of that week. After 3 or 4 weeks went by, I emailed the person who scheduled our audit, and she promised to look into the missing report right away. Another 3 or 4 weeks went by, I emailed her again, and got no response. I don't know how they expect to make any money if they don't make recommendations. read more
