My family has been using Engel for years. Sadly, we reached out in advance of the recent January 25, 2026 winter snow storm to get a component replaced for my 93 year old mother. We were told the part was in and it would be replaced the Friday or Saturday at the latest BEFORE the storm arrived. My mother/I called on Friday/Saturday before the storm and Sunday/Monday during/after the storm. We only get voicemail and no one has called us back. We have tried THREE different numbers which all end at the same voicemail. However, our neighbor three doors up, who also uses Engel received a call back and has an appointment on Tuesday. They are getting a full heater replacement while my mother is only having a component replaced in order to control her fluctuating temperature. Unfortunately, without the new board, her utility bill has doubled! The lack of response and the unrealized and undelivered expectations for an elderly person who is trying to survive the winter with temperatures in the teens is unacceptable! Shame on Engel for the poor attention and customer service to a 93 year old woman's simple needs. Note: Engel managed her to this timeline, not the other way around. read more

Engel Air installed my mini split system in July 2024. 9 months later they still have failed to pay for the permit needed by the township, so I am now facing legal action by the township unless I pay for the permit myself... except the contract I had with Engel stated that they would be responsible for it. Dave Jackson (owner of Engel Air) is not responding to my emails, it seems like he is not willing to honor his contract. I'll tell you that he is extraordinarily responsive while trying to win you business. Afterwards? Doesn't seem to care. Avoid at all costs. read more

I had Engle put in a system 6 years ago. Recently the heater wasn't working. It has been going on 3 weeks without heat. They diagnosed it wrong three times. I am always waiting for parts. There is never a sense of urgency to get this fixed properly. If it doesn't get fix this time I am going to call a different company. I will gave to pay because the warranty won't be covered. never ever use this company. read more

My dad bought a new heating system for $10000 3 years ago. It is now leaking. He has offered to pay them to come out....for 3 months. They've diagnosed it over the phone- first the gaskets. Now something else. How do you know if you don't come out to look? It's been 3 months of the run-around. He was happy with the service and we were going to use them for our property but I am so glad we didn't. He has gone most of the winter in a house that won't warm properly. Had a system installed in summer 2013. System was new and did not have it serviced in 2014 or 2015. Already need to have a leak check done on the system in 2016 and 2017 which is why I had a new system installed in the first place. System needed 1lb of refrigerant in 2016 and two pounds in 2017. No leak found on the initial encounter and was charged full price. 110$ per pound of refrigerant... which they get for 10$ btw...Here I am again requiring two pounds of refrigerant this summer and was told the balance for the refrigerant needs to be paid before they will come out and perform the second leak check. Which I had to call and follow up myself because I didn't hear anything before I received a call back five days later....Don't worry I'm not hot or anything....I still don't even know if I can turn it on and depending on the issue could cost me anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Company charges you every cent on a faulty system they installed then doesn't want to call to speak to you about why it doesn't work and defer to whether or not they serviced your system leading up to the problem ....which they did the year prior so ? I was told the system was not maintained because it was not serviced the two summers that it actually worked correctly leading up to the current issue. I feel bad for their future customers having any issues with their work. Apparently it was "dog pee" or some other freak accident. Don't worry engel air I'll make sure you get paid....pfff read more

My Ac crapped out Friday 7-22-16, I called them and left a message, today at 12:30pm no reply, Made a service appointment several months ago, they made a service date but never showed up, never responded to my calls. I am disabled and do not sweat plus my wife is 72 years old and her health is also failing. they installed the condenser unit, guess they got their money and disabled people have to die. read more

Engel is fantastic. Had a house heater installed this season. Professional service, clean installation. The machine experienced a manufacturer fail and Engel TOTALLY stood behind their product and service. Engel performed multiple service calls to help remedy the issue. Their team of Chris, big Dave, manager Dave, "the other Dave", Ed, Todd, Nick, Steve, (I hope I'm not missing anyone) arrived on time, every time and we're completely attentive to our issues. I was so so pleased with my experience with Engle Air. The technicians were right on time, worked quickly, and were very polite and professional. They put coverings down on my floors and didn't leave a mess in my home. There was a little trouble when they were removing my old oil tank (a little spill on my driveway), but I was thrilled with how they handled the situation. The manager got in touch with me quickly and my driveway now looks great - but not as great as my new furnace! These guys really went beyond my expectations and were a pleasure to work with. read more

Engel installed a Fujitsu ductless combination A/C and heating unit in our kitchen about five years ago. Both inside and out, the installation was (and is) clean and unobtrusive. Engel has continued to provide excellent maintenance to the unit. The Fujitsu system has performed most satisfactorily. Last year, the unit experienced a significant performance decline. Engel diagnosed and repaired a valve leak in the outside heat exchanger that appeared a bit unusual. Recently, the same problem reappeared. We called Engel two days ago. At our convenience, they come out today (a technician could have come yesterday). The Engel technician, using improved test equipment, found the problem and made the repair. He explained all this to us and why the previous repair hadn't solved the problem. We were not charged for the visit or the repair. We have found Engel to be highly reliable and reasonably priced. Its technicians appear most knowledgeable and courteous. We fully expect to continue to use its services whenever possible. read more

I have 2 zones in my home for A/C and Heating needs. I purchased both from Engel. One unit was purchased a few years ago the other 2 years ago. The installs and the professionalism were outstanding. They also did a very good job cleaning up after so it was spotless. The reason I am writing this review is because recently one of my AC units went down. We called Engle. Engel was quick to responds On a Saturday no less. They have hours from 9 to 2 very convenient. They had us up and running within 2 hours. My family and I are very grateful especially when this occurred during a significant heat wave. If you need a unit or HVAC service call Engel they are top notch! read more

They installed both inside and outside heat pump units in my home in 2010. At that time I got a 10 year complete warranty covering everything except for the refrigerant. Good thing, because the unit needed lots of work during those 10 years, the warranty has now expired and the unit needs more work so I decided to try another company. The technician from the new company assessed the unit and showed me five (5) problems that Engel either caused (4) or ignored (1). The technician from the new company told me my unit needed refrigerant and searched for the leak (something Engel did not do). He found a leak in my inside unit coil. Over the last 5 years Engel just kept adding refrigerant and charging me instead of looking for the leak which would have been covered under the warranty. On one occasion, early on, they did do leak checking. But only because I found a leak and called them. On that occasion they had to tear apart the whole inside unit. They broke the condensate drain line and never told me. They also removed the coil from the inside unit during leak checking and replaced it incorrectly (it fits in like a drawer where the guides have to slide in tracks and one of the guides was slid in above the track... In all fairness the other possibility is that it came installed incorrectly from the factory, which I highly doubt, but even if it was installed incorrectly by the factory, Engel didn't notice it, whereas the technician from the new company noticed it immediately). Unfortunately I am completely dissatisfied with Engel and would never use them again. read more

Worst company I ever called. Took a week to get a small part, turned out to be the wrong part, but they stuck it in there anyway. Heater still didn't work. They also broke clip on door and never replaced it. I called 3 times to tell them that heater was not working and they never got back to me. I called someone else who came right out with the correct part and replaced a larger part and fixed the door, all at a much more reasonable price. The heater now works great. read more

Really fantastic, honest company. AC wasn't working, our system was old, so we were prepared for a very costly replacement. Even after we were discussing, and agreeing to, costs for system replacement, the repairman evaluated a few things just in case, and ended up fixing our AC on the spot for only a couple hundred instead of an entire system fix for thousands. Highly recommend, and will definitely use them when it is indeed time for an entire system replacement!! read more

I was not pleased with their price structure at all. I had a part replaced and the part was marked up close to 300%. They said the part cost was so high do to a 1 year warranty and if something fails they would replace it......They can replace it 3X without losing any money. They also said part of the cost was higher for the installation but you are paying an hourly fee to have the technicians install it. I will say that the technicians was knowledgeable and found the problem pretty quick. Last but not least I was scheduled in a 3 hour window but then got a call that the technicians would be there in the first hour, the technician showed up in the last five minutes of the 3 hour window. read more
