Spoke on the phone to an Asian woman, seemed pleasant enough but very difficult to understand because she spoke extremely poor English. But I most certainly understood her when she repeated her rates for the deep tissue massage, $50 for 1/2 hour, $70 for full massage. So I made an appointment over the phone, and proceeded to her establishment. She allowed me into her business ( after being buzzed in) and I again asked her about the rates, which she again repeated, $50 for 1/2 hour, $70 for full hour. I chose the full hour, at which time she stated: " you pay now". I politely asked her why she wanted the money at this point before the massage, and she replied " it's business..". I didnt' argue, paid the $70 , and ultimately received the full body deep tissue massage. In all honesty, I thought the massage was okay, no complaints about that. HOWEVER, after the session was completed, as I was preparing to leave her establishment, she said : " ...how you pay?...". I reminded her that I already paid her the full price prior to the session and she said " ... no, $70 not for me, not mine, it's for business ( although she was the only one there, acting as proprietor) , I need you give me $30 tip...". I said I would give her an extra $10, but she became insistent, actually indignant, almost demanding that I pay her the extra $30 bucks. I didn't want to argue, I do admit that I gave her the $30 ( knowing that comparable deep tissue massages range from about $90 to $100 bucks an hour) , BUT, I will NEVER go to this place again. That's an extremely shoddy business practice, it borders on being dishonest and unethical, and as far as I'm concerned, broken English or not, she knew she played me. I gave this an extremely poor review for that reason, and I don't want any other potential customers out there to fall into this same trap. read more
