Getting a last minute appointment for a mani pedi was easy on a Saturday and I can see why. I've been here 3 times but months apart going back bec out of desperation and distance. The work done is just not up to par and maybe each time I was unlucky . The last time was the last straw , I've heard the owner and his wife are good but his staff pretty much are not which explains why they are always available. I had a mani pedi, the guy who worked on me did not even cut my toe nails and just filed them off the top until I asked him to. The polish was not done well as other places leaving polish in my skin. The same for on my gel mani and the polish was done so bad that my polish shows on my outer skin on some fingers . He didn't file after the polish and they were certainly getting caught in my silk pants. Overall, I should have looked at all the reviews on Yelp before going to prevent me for making a mistake again. read more

I needed to get a pedicure and walked in there at 6:52, which they closed at 7. Not only did Nina do my repaint on my nails, she stayed overtime to give me a pedicure!! Found this new nail salon which just opened this week. Clean and beautiful salon with friendly owners and staff. I had a spa pedicure and dip manicure with Kay and he did an amazing job. They had a great selection of color in dip, gel and regular polish. He did the best pedicure I've ever had and paid close attention to my nails when doing the dip powder. This place was nice and the staff was super friendly and the place was so clean and new! Only open a week my yelp buddy Ruby shouted out this place first and fro verge picture of her toes I thought I should give it a shot! I'm glad I did Helene did my pedicure and I decided to upgrade to the hot stone last minute... so glad I did she did a long really good massage on my feet and legs well worth the extra 10$ . The chairs are new and really nice they don't hurt your back and you can adjust them very easily even for intensity. Everything was clean and they used a bath cover in between and brand new tools that had been auto claved and even their supplies were in a new bag so everything wasn't used on the previous person at all which was really a plus. read more

My 17 year old daughter went alone to get her nails done and they were extremely rude to her to the point that she left in tears. I called to complain that they treated a child in such a way and the person I talked to just made excuses and took no accountability. That's all I needed know and we will never return. This is after I walked in two weeks ago for a wax and stood at the counter for 5 minutes without anyone ever speaking to me. I walked out and decided they didn't want my business. Twice we have encountered rudeness. I blew off my experience because I didn't have an appointment and just wanted to see if they had an opening. I was asked twice why I was getting tips to begin with, and was told no in an aggressive voice, since I wanted them a little shorter. I was super excited to go to Lux nail bar. I've been looking for a salon near me & the reviews were all amazing and from the photos I could tell I was able to get what I needed done. I needed a fill, with acrylic and gel polish; pretty simple right ? I walked in and was asked what I needed. I was then sat with a young lady who was kind and began on my nails . Another customer walked in and asked for a pedicure. The women who was doing my nails was then asked to start on the pedicure and put me in another chair to wait for someone else. I waited for 10 minutes, which is fine but when Kan (not sure what his name is) sat down he did not introduce himself or even say hi, or how are you doing. He started working on my nails and didn't even ask what I needed. I told him what color I wanted while pointing to it . He very rudely told me I was saying the wrong number. My mistake, a mistake that anyone can make. He proceeded to do my nails in an upset matter, like he didn't want to do my nails at all. He asked what shape I wanted and I told him round like they were. He began to tell me how I'm wrong and my nails are pointy and round is completely different. From that moment on I knew I was in for a ride. He rushed on my nails, did not file them properly and did a horrible job painting them. He was super rough and rushed through it completely . Being the only Black Woman in the store , I knew I couldn't complain because I was scared of the thought of being labeled an angry black woman. I just bit the bullet, and went to the register to pay. I was charged $45 for a fill?!? Nothing special was done at all & I came in with all of my nails on. My nails look horrible and I left upset and crying . If you are a Women of color, I do not recommend going to this salon. I will not come here again ever & I will make sure to look for a salon where I'm welcomed and deserves my hard earned money. I had to tell her how to make the design I asked for work out. after messing my nails multiple times all I could think of was getting out of there. When you mess nails up no client wants to stay there for one more hour for you to try to fix the mess. I've tried a couple nail salons in the area and not happy with them, so I gave this place a try. I'm so glad I did! I got a hot stone pedicure with gel polish which was excellent. Then I got pink and white powder dip on my nails. He did a fabulous job, smoothed the edges around the cuticle and sides, and shaped them nice and even. It's been 3 weeks and they have held up great! No rough edges along the powder edge near the cuticle, which is a huge bonus. I just made another appt with the same tech, Sell, for this week. The first time I went, it was fine. The second time I went. It was horrible my nails chipped after two days I will not go back.

LOVE. I came in with destroyed nails (I have no patience when my nails grow out & I end up peeling them ALL off) but Ronnie RESCUED my nails just in time for a family reunion. After just relocating back to Florida and trying out a dozen nail salons I felt at home at the Lux bar and know I'll be coming back once these nails grow out! SEXUALLY HARASSED. This is the first time I have ever been here, and I made an appointment for a pedicure. I did not ask for anyone specific. I sat down in the chair and the only man working came over to me and began the service. From the beginning, he asked about my boyfriend and where he lived and how old he was and if we were getting married. I thought it was normal enough. He began to ask if my boyfriend could massage like he could, and if he was as good as him. He asked me if my boyfriend gave me full body massages and asked if they were romantic. He kept going, asking if the massage was good. He told me he liked my skin, and kept jiggling my legs and thighs. I am a thicker build, and I was wearing short athletic shorts. I felt so exposed at this point. He even referred to me at one point as a "good girl" because I put my foot in the right spot while he was painting my nails. Finally, when the service was over, he shook my legs one more time and goes "sexy legs. ugh. long legs. i like it" I am absolutely horrified. I sat through one of the most uncomfortable pedicures of my entire life. This place should not be in operation if he works there. It is NOT a safe place for young women. read more

if i could give more stars i would, it is hard to find a great nail salon. i work in a restaurant which leaves my nails hit on things, in water too much, etc. i moved down here in august. i usually hope that my nails last 3-4 weeks since it is quite expensive. lux nail bar makes the money worth it. i get compliments all the time from my tables. i recommend Sarah at this salon. even though my sets are detailed and can be difficult, she gets it done and we have fun doing it. she talks with you and hears you on what you want. she works hard to make sure her customers are happy. i have a roommate that i live with and let's just say it's hard to get to her standard sometimes, and sarah completely left her surprised, making my roomate feel understood, happy, and comfortable. here's some of the pictures of my nails. i've been going here more almost half of a year and the longest my nails have lasted is a month and a day, no chipped nails no damage i just don't have patience..... Prior to stopping at Lux, I've had a difficult time finding a great nail salon in the area. For context, I typically do a gel manicure and standard pedicure, so nothing too fancy. I noticed Lux when I was picking up from Ninja Thai and Sushi, and decided to give it a try. It was fairly busy when I arrived after work, but they were very efficient in beginning the soak off process and keeping customers moving in and out. Sarah was my technician and she did a great job on my manicure and although I did not get a pedicure, offered to fix an imperfection so I did not need to have a full polish change. I would absolutely recommend the salon, it was clean, friendly and overall a great experience. read more
