He was very flexible and fit in an estimate the next day at a time outside of his normal schedule. He was able to do an estimate without me being on site but was also willing to stay in case my husband or I had any questions for him. I haven't completely decided whether I would use his services to fix the fence but it the estimate sounded reasonable and he was able to understand my needs/wants instead of trying to sell me something completely out of budget.

Several of the boards had rotted, and two of the posts were broken. Bill was one of the guys I got a quote from, and his was stunningly reasonable compared to the others. His crew did the job in one day. My fence is still over 20 years old, but it is functionally new again. Bad boards replaced, broken posts replaced, everything tightened up. And it looks--by my standards--better than new. Like an antique table that is deliberately "distressed" to give it a little character without lowering its utility. I'm going to call him back in 20 years and have him do it again.

Up until recently never had a bad experience and always left thinking about what would be next on the list! However, just had my first bad experience after 20+ years very recently. Involved a written quote obtained while in their office regarding the specifics of the job, and after the service was completed - I was yelled at and cursed on a phone call afterwards - a proposed 50% a increase in price was demanded for the job completed. Legal action was threatened if I did not comply. Ironically - less items on the list were completed and manpower present had decreased from 3 to 2 workers. Reason - that their written quote had been wrong - only discovered after the job was finished and the crew had left. Long story short, won't go back ever. Payment based on original written quote - sent.
