My experience They did so much extra diagnosing everything possible that was wrong with it EXCEPT for what i brought it for.. the FIRST $155.00(That's what I was quoted over the phone to find out what needed to be fixed, has/fueling issues.... She ABSOLUTELY knew the issue that I was having before i dropped it off because SHE asked a bunch of questions... Only cut off after getting GAS, happens after I reFUEL, GAS pump clicks while I'm getting GAS...SHE could've told me then that they had to drop the GAS tank, SHE didn't until they had my vehicle for almost a day... she calls and tells me that it would be an extra money $240.00....Just to tell me what I had asked about (THE ONLY THING I ASKED ABOUT OR WANTED CHECKED OUT OR REPAIRED) I had to agree, I had to pay $90.00 to get it towed there, so I was under the assumption that it was still not drivable... Come to find out he had drove it after it sat there over the weekend waiting for the appointment that was scheduled 4 days after I had it towed there. So we're at $$395.00 just diagnostic at this point. and it was drivable, could have come and got it but I'm in $400 deep at this point. found out after the fact). Then they didn't even take any of that MONEY for just the DIAGNOSTIC FEE off my repair. Then I get the call that it is the charcoal canister and they already have my gas tank dropped anyway so they won't charge me labor but the part is over $250... (Look it up online CHARCOAL CANISTER for a 2006 Kia Sorento -you can get a brand new part for $50- $75 at most) and broke my plastic piece that holds my dimmer switch, told me to come back before 4pm, (Im having to work overtime at this point) that I wasn't putting it back in correctly (not true, a friend has purchased a piece to fix it ) That's what really happened so tell me how I'm supposed to feel? Anyway a $75 part cost me $600 dollars and took 4 days, they couldn't move my car up even though I had it towed there 5 days earlier. I have attached pictures below. My personal advice... go somewhere else first.. and second. Just avoid if at all possible. They quoted me $240.00 to get my AC inspected while they already had my vehicle there and had paid for the repairs. Needless to say she said that the $240 diagnostic fee would not be taken off the repair bill. So I absolutely would not go through with another nightmare. Thank God I didn't... I went to JS AND J AUTO in WILMINGTON this week to get my AC serviced and repaired. They charged $125 to diagnose and fix, I needed an extra part fixed, they went above and beyond, took the $125 diagnostic fee off of my repairs, offered me a cheaper replacement part, if I wanted it, an after market part, saved me a couple hundred dollars and replaced my condenser, the lines, cleaned out everything and recharged it.... Best experience and customer service ever... Got an excellent deal, they offered to pick me up and my AC is so cold sometimes you have to turn it off or you will freeze. So there is a happy ending to my story thanks to JS AND J AUTO. The $600 for a charcoal canister in a 06 Kia at Green Meadows Auto, single woman's nightmare. Stephanie did not want to work with me at all, she was really rude going back and forth with me on text messages after the fact. The owner did try to reach out after that but I have nothing to say to a business that takes advantage of people. Note : I was NEVER ugly or said anything out of the way, I wasn't raised that way. I'm southern girl from NC where I was raised people didn't take advantage of each other and handshakes actually meant something. That's just my two cents. Was having stalling issues with my 80s van. Was told it would be a $400 diagnostics fee to start and find out what's causing the issue. All they did was clean my spark plugs and they wanted to inspect my gas tank - changing my diagnostic fee to now $1650. Instead, had Towed it back to my place and personally diagnosed my fuel delivery with a new fuel line to a full gas can and 20 minutes with no difference. The fuel pump was working, the fuel tank has fuel coming out, the fuel filter has gas in it. But charging me almost $2k just to tell me that and change a fuel line is bit ridiculous. Highway robbery even. Diagnosing fuel delivery should take less than a couple hours in most older model vehicles - especially with an experienced mechanic and it most definitely shouldn't cost that much to do it. If that were the case, then I saved $1500 in my driveway in less than an hour today. Very disappointed with this experience. Wont be coming back or recommend you to diagnose classic car issues here unless you have deep pockets for fun. read more

I have three cars that i have had serviced at Green Meadows for the past 5 years. I would not take my cars anywhere else (with the exception of Euro-Tek that services my Range Rover). I will stake my reputation as a reviewer with the following comment: I would not consider any other auto service facility in Wilmington. Not having taken my vehicles to all of the other auto service facilities, it would not be genuine to say Green Meadows is the best place in Wilmington. I just don't know for the reason that I haven't been to all of the other auto shops. The reason is because i have no reason whatsoever to try any other auto service shop. Every single time they work on my car, i get personal treatment from people like Daniel who look at repairs from my point of view. That alone is worth everything to me. As far as the things i'm supposed to comment on like "Service Requested" & "Quality" & "Value", it should be obvious that i consider them to be the exceptional. read more

I was looking for an honest, transparent auto repair shop, and they told me they offered "dealership service without the drama." I got home and looked closely at my bill and discovered they charged me $111 in hidden fees(!), including a $37 "credit card fee" (they never told me this when I paid or that I could avoid it by paying with a check) and a whopping $74 for "shop supplies." So no transparency, plenty of drama. read more

General car service. Green Meadows is our go to car place for routine or acute car needs. Ask for Dave, he is the best. Pros: -excellent customer service -honest - car troubles are among my top 5 most stressful life situations, I'm a novice and vulnerable, and seldom know how much something should or shouldn't cost in this situation.
