Your not going to believe this one. 4th of July downtown, walking around eating and drinking new places, exploring our new city and having a great time and decided to head home. It is an end spot up near the street by the Spice/Tea Place, I started to pullout and thought I was by the nose of the curb and when my back tire tracked in, I caugght the curb just right 3 blocks later....I am changing my tire. I get the donut put on and of course nothing is open and I am supposed to be headed to Charlotte at 5 am, not happening. So I pull out my old trusty YELP app and look for tire places, BLACKS is all over town but, one place caught my eye. "Aspen Tire" 5 stars (Shut the front Door, No one gets 5 stars out side of restaurants) with 25+ Reviews, what have I got to lose. I get there at 10 till 8am and the bays are already hopping with the Tech's and management in the lobby, so I tried the door, crap still not open (8am on the Dot), so now I am going to be here till at least 10am and way behind on my scheduled trip to Clt. So go up to Trey at the counter and he is lackluster as you would expect for 8am lol, but he lets me know that he has some appointments ahead of me and he will get to it when he can. So I decided to go across the street to get something to eat, a coffee and hang out for about 15mins, come back across and have a seat for a long wait for my car. The it hits me, I have entered bizarro world, it is 8:28 am and Trey calls me and says my car is ready??!!!! I Look towards the front door and it is sitting right there. This is the way business should be done, set the expectation low and when you get it in advance of the expectation, you finish sooner and you look like a hero, and ASPEN is My Hero! Super great service today! I just showed up a few minutes after they opened with a screw in my tire!! I had no appointment and they happily took my car to patch the tire and do an oil change and a state inspection. I want to give a long overdue shout out to Aspen Tires. I originally purchased four new tires and rims from them almost three years ago. They regularly rotate the tires as past of the included services. I drive all over the East coast and now, at 80K I needed a new set; got them last week. Wouldn't you know, I picked up a nail this morning and went immediately to the shop. They repaired it at NO CHARGE as part of the service for purchasing the tires. Needed an oil change before a trip.... read all of the great reviews about this place so I gave them a call! Trey was extremely helpful, and fit us in the schedule on the same day. He let me know that it might be a bit of a wait and it took about two hours, but that was pretty impressive considering every place in town was quoting 5 to 6 hours or "next week"! My boyfriend goes in with a flat tire gets denied for a patch says that can't get him in until 4 pm to patch it?!? I call them right after they denied him they tell me yes that they can fit me in in half hour?!? Sounds like we have a bit of sexism going on in the company and I do not appreciate it when they put people lives in danger when it comes down to some measly tire patch?!? This is where I usually take my car. They do a great job with general maintenance like oil changes, new tires and rotations. They are awesome at diagnosing problems. With my last car, I took it to 2 other places and they told me they couldn't find a problem. I knew there was a problem because I heard it everytime I drove. Took it to Aspen and they immediately found that my motor mount was loose and that evey time I turned my motor shifted. How did those other places miss that? They are always super friendly, quick and I feel like they are honest and not trying to get you to spend more money than you already need to. read more

While I was there I mentioned to Mason that it's been making a noise in the front end and the dealership could not find where the noise was originating from. It all started when I went to the Midas on Oleander for an oil change and was handed an ultimatum. I was recommended to change all tires, my front break and all TPMS for $2300 plus service. Intended to get a second opinion, I went to another Midas in Monkey Junction (why Midas again?). They told me the same thing in same scary working, saying it's so dangerous if I don't replace my front break right away and that my tires are so evenly worn it's going to hit the rim. Their quote is $1600. I waited for the weekend to be over, and today I decided to do more online research on customer reviews and found Aspen. The shop is very conveniently located and easy to find. I went in and told them that I want to get a third opinion on what needs to be done. They were very nice and courteous. The guy immediately went out and checked my tire sensors. After checking, he told me only two need to be replaced at this point while the other two may be low but still working (but later suggested that I replace all four, which may be suspicious to some. I will leave it to your judgment.) With regard to tires, only one tire is fine, so it's reasonable to replace all four. Their quote on tires looked good compared to my experience at Midas, so I decided to go with it (again, I'm not in a good position to judge the true value as I know nothing about tires.) After they took my car in and checked the brake, the guy told me that it's still in the "yellow range"(4mm?) and a replacement is not completely necessary until it's 3mm. At Midas, they sounded as if I will die the next day if I don't replace it right away. Both said I will fail the state inspection and so on. All in all, I think I appreciate that they didn't do the fear mongering trick on me. I have no way to judge, but it seems to be they are an honest business. read more

Buying new tires is never fun, but Aspen Tire was probably the best tire replacement experience I've ever had. The service tech, Steve, walked us through our options, but was never pushy in any way. He offered his opinions on the various options, but we never felt that he was trying to "talk us up" on the purchase. When our new tires were installed, it was completed in about an hour, notably faster than the estimated 90-120 minutes.
