I trust these guys for the most part and have gotten my car serviced there for years. But they take so darn long to get things done. I can expect to have a two hour wait for an oil change. I had to drop my car off at 7:00 am for them to check why my car was not firing like normal and had to call them at around 1:30 because I had not heard from them. "Was just about to call you." they could not find a problem. I was told the car is starting fine. suggested a fuel injector cleaning and something else. I asked if my car would be done before they closed. He wasn't sure. I told him I need my car to be done because I have no other way to get home except uber and already did that this morning. Scheduling and customer service lack heavily at this store. The front desk people who check you in couldn't care less about talking to you and get snippy if you ask a single question. I left and didn't even let them work on my car because I wouldn't dare let someone that rude work on anything I own. Would recommend anywhere else in Wilmington. read more

The good is I got the service I paid for. Oil change, inspection, and brake system bleed. My brake petal feels alot less "soft" than it was. The bad is took a bit over 2 1/2 hours to complete with an appointment. Value was unknown cause not sure of cost elsewhere. read more

Black Tire continues be very disappointing experience. As directed by Customer Service I returned the store and asked speaker to the manager to resolve my issues. DMV sent me to Black's Tire & Service on market Street for an inspection. I didn't have an appointment, but they took care of me right away and I was ready to go in a half hour. They could not have been nicer and more accommodating. read more

They wanted to charge me $1800 and it could go up to replace a CV front axle and they said they couldn't get it out. That's a bunch of crap. I took it to The Car Guys and they not only were able to get it out. They use the part that I supplied Black wanted to replace my transmission oil pan. They said it was leaking in. The Car Guys told me that that was a bunch of hogwash, but there was nothing wrong with my transmission oil pan and using the part that I supplied, they only charge me $891. That's a far cry from $1800 and it could go up so I'll never take my car to blacks and neither should you cause they'll rip you off. So if you need your car fixed, call The Car Guys in Wilmington North Carolina they're not only nice but they do good work do honest work and that's hard to come by. read more

I've had great experiences at their other locations, but this one left me disappointed. I scheduled an 11am appointment for a standard oil change, and it was almost noon by the time my car even made it to the garage. I didn't get my car back until after 1pm, at which point I was late returning to work. I'd be less upset if there was any indication that it would take this long, but nobody warned me that they were behind schedule or understaffed. I'll probably try to schedule any future appointments with one of their other shops, which is a shame since this one is right down the street from my new apartment. read more

Service was great from the folks that work there but the speed of service was a little slow. I had 4 tires, Micky Thompson 37s, put on truck. The only thing I had problems with was that I was told 2 hours but it actually took a little over 4 hours to replace my old tires. . Because of the extra time my wife spent waiting, they gave us a discount off. I was at work. Although the wait time sucked for my wife, I would still recommend folks there. My truck runs smooth and the noise is almost silent. Definately going back if I need too. read more

I shared that the passenger side rear caliper has seized. I was told that they were swamped a may not be able to get to my car today. I explained that the issue happened on my way from Charlotte to Wilmington and that I need to get home by tonight. I was told that for my safety they would try and were able to fit me in. Update: your regional manager never got back to me, if I could leave zero stars I would! It's been 4 weeks and no one will contact me back about my tire issue. Super disappointed! Just bought two new tires, I understand they weren't the best but when you buy a new tire it shouldn't have issues. It's making a very loud humming noise that's noticeable while driving even with music on. They said there is nothing wrong with the tire so they aren't replacing it. I called ahead of time to see if they could repair my tire ASAP as I travel a lot for work - Jamie said he would do everything in his power to squeeze me in and get me back on the road. If I could give this place no stars, I would. I had dropped my truck off for a rotation, balance, and a nail in my tire. Ben was very nice and was able to get it "done" in about 4 hours. I took my truck home and noticed that the wheel was still in the same spot as before I dropped it off. The line they draw to put the tire back on the rim properly after patching it was on the wheel they were supposed to fix, was placed back in the same spot, meaning they didn't rotate. Upon further inspection I noticed none of the tape had been removed from the wheel weights meaning no balancing had taken place at Black's, like I had paid handsomely for. It was then that I noticed the damage that was done to my rim. I'll add that the truck has 14,000 miles and it's the first time a wheel had been off of the truck. I detail the truck and wheels weekly and know that the damage wasn't there before I dropped it off. I know that for a fact because I detailed the truck the night before i dropped it off at Blacks so it was nice and clean for them. After I confirmed with Ben that no balancing or rotation had taken place, and took the damage by to show him in person, i took it to Jeff Gordon for a balance. 3 tires were out of spec. Jeff gordon charged me 65$. Blacks charged me 135$. I paid almost double to have my truck damaged. My money for a balance and rotation was refunded by Ben. About the damage, Ben says the best that he can do is get my wheel to 90% of the original condition. He said that he doesn't want to pay to have it restored to 100%, the way that it was when it arrived at his shop. The rim place that he sent me to, said that they can't fix it to where I wouldn't notice it. That I'll always be able to see it and you can't fix powdercoat like new. Context for attached pictures: There are 8 spots inside the barrel with these gouges and scratches. There are also scratches on the lip of the rim also that are unable to be removed due to powder coating. I've been going to Blacks in Carolina Beach for years, never had a problem. First time I go to the one on Market Street, bam, irreversible damage on the rim of my brand new 88 thousand dollar truck. Thanks a bunch Ben. Please let me know when you decide that it's in your budget to get my truck back to 100% the way it was when I brought it to you. read more

First, let me give HUGE accolades to Blacks Tires on Market Street, Jason Mills scheduled an appointment for alternator replacement, oil change and tire rotation. Absolutely 100% very satisfied with the customer friendly staff. I had several questions concerning the replacement and Jason Mills took the time to explain what the process.
