I had to drive an hour to get my car serviced here. This is a nice dealership and appears to be fairly new. It's easy to locate. The lounge are is nice and comfortable. They had a nice coffee machine with lots of choices, water, sodas and snacks. I waited a while for my car to be serviced. I was happy they could repair my car quickly as other Hyundai dealers closer to home were busy and unable to see me for weeks. I would recommend this dealership for service. They kept me informed with what was happening with my car via text and attached a detail report with pictures of everything that needed addressing with estimated costs. As we looked at various models Steve was very informative and patient showing us details and specs that helped greatly. Part of our decision ultimately was due to Steve pointing out both the gas mileage and powertrain warranty for the Sonata. Impressive to say the least!! This Service Center should be avoided. I have been to your location more times than I care to recall. Each time, the "I don't give a s***" attitude is everywhere. I get a runaround, changing stories, conflicting information and recommended services that are not pinpointed at the problem. There is little communication. I sit in the waiting room for hours and I have to return to the desk to get updates and when I do, I get "Oh yeah, let me check" The manager Brett (or Brent?) is rude, dismissive and unhelpful. If not for my warranty with Parkway, I would never return. Vehicle was stalling, I was told because it was so low on oil, the engine was misfiring. The Hyundai has a habit of burning oil. We need to do a full oil monitor check in 1,000 miles. I asked why the "low oil" light wasn't present. I was told "yeah that doesn't come on until its almost out of oil. that's the way Hyundai is". I come back after 1,000 miles. 0.4 qts low. "That's within the Hyundai specs" So I ask what that limit is and I am told 0.5 qts. I bring it back after 2,000 miles (we had a trip up north) and it is 1.5 qts low. "That's within the Hyundai specs" So I as again what that limit is and I am told 0.75 qts per 1,000 miles to 1.5 in 2,000 is justifiable. I bring it back after another 1,000 miles. 0.9 qts low. "That's within the Hyundai specs." I checked the oil before I brought it in - the oil was below the acceptable line on the dipstick. When I ask what the plan is, I am given nothing. I ask Brett/Brent and he just looked at me blankly and then recommended I get a GDI Fuel Service for $200. (Which I just did in August). I know I am being treated like a dumb car owner. Am I really expected to believe that a 2022 vehicle with 80,000 miles is expected to burn a quart of oil every 1,000 miles?! And the service people there have actually told me "Cars are different today, they actually do burn a lot more oil than they used to" read more

Service Dept was unable to repair the hard shift so they replaced the transmission. The new transmission was worse than the original one. I took the car in several times and each time was told different stories. I found them to be very dishonest and would say whatever to get me out the door. Corporate refused to help. Although the car was under warranty I was left with having to accept that the hard shift that started just after 6500 miles was something I would have to accept. After speaking to a friend who worked AAA Auto Repair and taking my car to them they fixed the issue within an hour and didn't even charge me. Simple fix! How Incompetent do you think Parkways Hyaundai service dept. has to be to follow the course of action they followed and to have never fixed the problem. read more

My wife and I went to look for a new car and we were greeted by Bob Hart. He was very helpful and patient and we took several cars for a test drive. My wife fell in love with the Hyundai Kona turbo and she wanted it in orange. This is apparently very hard to come by and there was only one available in Virginia. The dealership in Virginia didn't want to give it up but Bob and his manager went to work and they were able to deliver us the car within a couple of days! We went to pick up the car and everyone was so helpful making the process quick and easy. During the process the owner stopped by to thank us and chat for awhile, she is very nice! I scheduled a service appointment for one of numerous recalls on my Santa Fe, and dropped my vehicle off for that repair plus another two service checks related to dashboard indicator lights. I was quoted $175 for *each* diagnostic of the service lights, so I declined one. Three hours after my appointment time I called to inquire about the status and was informed that they were getting ready to start working on my vehicle. They finally finished the recall repair and checked on the indicator, and came up with a list of 8 other needs for service, many of which had been recently completed. I asked what one of the repairs was, and the technician said he didn't know. I was informed that the diagnostic fee would not apply to any of the related repairs, and that my bill for the $175 diagnostic fee actually would be $230 due to a required $30 "miscellaneous fee," plus taxes. When I questioned the miscellaneous fee, I was told that "everyone pays it." The service person assigned to me knew nothing about the cost of each individual repair of the $2000+ list provided, and could provide no further information. I do not know what type of sales program Wilmington Hyundai works under, but it is not customer based. My son went in looking for a new car and did a test drive, he liked the car, and he went in with his salesperson to talk pricing as we set down another salesperson had taken the keys to test drive the car with another customer as we set down. Our salesperson made a point to tell use that another person was interested in the car, and he would not be able to work on the pricing as the other customer set in the cubical next to ours. I did not know we had gone to an auction house vs a dealership. I can say we will never buy anything from this location and will tell our family and friends not to buy from here. On a good point Hyundai of Jacksonville was great to work with and we got the same new car for a 1,000 less than what was listed in Wilmington. read more

Service department treats you less than human and if you have to drop off a car on the weekend the sales manager is worse, doesn't lift a finger for you. The sales manager took one look at my black face and decided he would do nothing to help me get a courtesy car. Told me he " does not like to be pushed into a corner" because I told him if they didn't TRY to call the service or general manager to get me a courtesy car I would not use them. My repairs will likely cost thousands because my engine is burnt out. There is no customer service in this place worse yet they have no compassion for the needs of the people who come there. Especially if you're black. During this conversation with the sales manager I didn't raise my voice or be mean to anyone. What I did was relay how Important it was that I have a courtesy car. I have a 2018 white Sonata. In February, the paint started chipping and peeling off on the top near the front windshield. I went to Parkway Hyundai and asked them about. Oh I'm sorry, they said, but the paint warranty wore off in January. We can't fix it. I googled white Hyundai vehicles and the white paint they use seems to be peeling off of all of Hyundai vehicles. It was very weird because the 2017 white Hyundai Sonatas have a 6-year warranty for the paint and the 2018 white Sonatas have a 5-year warranty for the paint. I'm sure Hyundai USA knew what they were doing and knocked down the years for the paint warranty. I do think the local dealership should have fixed it anyway. read more

No one helped or greeted me when I walked in. The staff kind of just looked at me. I sat down in the waiting area while everyone continued to look without offering help. Eventually this guy came over, took me out to the lot, and told me they didn't have any cars. That's it. Didn't offer a solution or any help. So I awkwardly kind of just left. My husband called to talk to the service department about the excessive oil consumption issue that is affecting certain years and types of cars, including the 2017 Sonata, which is what my son drives. The service person acted as if the extra oil we were having to add was normal, and indicated that it wasn't a severe enough problem to be covered under warranty (crazy because eventually this issue can damage the engine!). My husband asked if we had any recourse other than keeping oil in the car and not buying another Hyundai, and the service person actually hung up on my husband. I came to trade in my 2016 Hyundai, which I actually really loved while I had it, for an newer upgrade and found an Acura TLX. We were met with excellent service and attention from Leroy Montgomery. Leroy has years of experience but he is not pushy. He is the most considerate and thoughtful sales person we have ever met. This was a completely hassel free experience and it was a joy to get to know Mr. Montgomery. If you ever have the privilege of his service you'll be blessed. I also got my newer car for a good price coupled with a good trade in value for my old car. The sales manager there was also wonderful. All of the staff was top notch. Of the handful of car dealerships I visited in Wilmington, Parkway Hyundai was, by far, the most professional and comfortable, with a beautiful, clean, climate-controlled showroom. In my 54 years, I haven't ever purchased a car with such ease. The Hyundai Tucson that I bought is my 9th or 10th car. I always buy new cars. Usually, I end up spending almost the entire day at a dealership for a new car purchase. But buying this Tucson was cut and dry. I was presented with a breakdown of all of my discounts: the discounted price, my car trade-in value, my loan payoff amount, and the out-the-door final price. My salesman, Mitch, didn't mess around with sales tactics or hard sale techniques. It was a no-pressure, relaxed, initial meeting, and when I let Mitch know I wanted to go and check out a few other vehicles just to be sure, he had no problem with it. He was just a genuine, down-to-earth guy, and I appreciated his straightforwardness. I was in and out of the finance office in under 15 minutes. The Hyundai Tuscon has many features that made it a no-brainer purchase, compared with other brands, such as the Mazda C5, the Kia Sorento, the Kia Sportage, the Ford Escape, and the Chevy Equinox. For the money, you get a whole lot more with the Hyundai Tucson.... not to mention an outstanding warranty. (You have to see the full-length sun/moon roof!) If you are in the market for a mid-range SUV, go and see Mitch at Parkway Hyundai. He'll take good care of you and make you feel like you're a valued customer! If I could give zero stars I would. I was treated with the least professional behavior that I have ever experienced in my life. I would highly suggest that if you need your car serviced, to take it elsewhere. I will never be back to Parkway and I advise the same to anyone else. Take your business to people who are trained in customer service and who have professional communication within their own office. Katy Mills was my service advisor. She never returned phone calls and she didn't inform me that my car would be there an extra day so I ended up having to take off work -unpaid. I left two voicemails with Phillina Grainger the service manager and she never returned either of those. When I went to pick up my car after being told it hadn't been checked yet after sitting there for three days, all of a sudden it had been checked. I had been told my Josh another service manager, who was also rude to me, that my file showed that it hadn't been checked as of Friday at 1:20. So when I arrived at 2:30 I was shocked to find out they had run diagnostics, driven the car 20 miles, changed my blinker bulb that I had brought with me, and inspected the car. When I finally got to speak with Phillina Grainger in person, she was immediately rude to me and interrupted multiple times while I was telling her what happened. I was in her office for less than three minutes when she told me to leave because I "raised my voice". I had a witness with me taking notes and she agreed that I did not raise my voice. While we were about to leave Phillina flipped her name tag in our faces and said "This is how you spell my name, you can write that down in your book too". I have never experienced this type of treatment and I know that if I were a man, I wouldn't have been met with this rude aggressiveness. Not a single apology was made to me. The only people who were even nice to me were people who could not help me get answers; Bailey the receptionist and Brent(I think) who oversees finances in the sales department. They were very trained in customer service. As a young woman who works in customer service myself I would suggest that the entire staff receive customer service training as they obviously have no idea how to help an unhappy customer. It would also be nice to receive an apology for the lack of compassion and the unprofessional behavior. It's also concerning that they passed my car for inspection because on the way home my friend noticed that I have two brake lights out. read more

They sold me a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy at MSRP and I could pay in cash! On top of that, I was able to do most of the transaction from home. The finance manager was not pushy and I bought the extended warranty because I wanted them to get a kick back for being the best dealer experience I have had to date! They had the car parked out front, washed, and fueled. They had the keys ready on the desk! They even called my insurance to insure that I had the car covered before I left. parkway sales department is first class.....they got us exactly what we wanted at the price we wanted. unfortunately, after the sale, you have to deal with a completely inept service department. we have returned the car for two issues.....both went unresolved. after they rotated our tires at 15000 miles the front end of the car started shimmying alot ! they told us this was common, that the rear tires wear differently than the front tires and when they are put on the front they can cause a shimmy......don't worry, you're completely safe !!! what the hell !!!! fix my damned car !!!! each time we have had a problem, they told us we didn't have a problem !! we still have both problems. We love our Hyundai, we got a good deal on it, we don't like your service department. My husband I set out on Saturday to "look" for a new car as our current car was not meeting our needs. We agreed that we would not make any decisions before "sleeping on it" and doing some thorough research. We planned to visit several dealers- drove through Kia- no go. We then came to Parkway Hyundai...as we got out of our car, out came salesman Sean Hogan. He was friendly and very hospitable. Sean asked several questions to gauge what our needs were. He suggested 2 vehicles to look at, drove them both around. Sean did not bring out the "loaded" models, but a mix to allow us to decide what features we wanted. We were in between two models and wanted to see what the numbers looked like. While they were looking over our trade in vehicle, Sean brings out keys to what was a demo vehicle. Okay, we thought we going to take our time and "sleep on it". After seeing and driving this car- we were very interested. Sean never pressured us (completely the opposite), he assessed what we wanted, what we didn't want and found us the perfect fit! We were very pleased with what we were offered for our trade in and the price on the vehicle. We did end up leaving that day as 2013 Hyundai Sonata owners! I sort of new what I wanted when going in, and she helped me clear the blurred lines and found me a car in the area ( because there were only 2 on the lot to choose from). All of the sales people were very nice and put up with my 2 year old running around the office for about 4 hours during the car buying process. Alright let's get to the point, bought a used car back from parkway in April, bought a 2013 veloster that was still under factory warranty while testing the car noticed it had a very bad shake when sitting idle salesman named David said that's normal so I believed him. Idle got worse within a few days of buying the car took it to service and they said opposite that it wasn't normal. Katy who's the advisor I always trust with my car took a lot of honest time trying to get it squared away. Which eventually was fixed and I appreciate katy for being super professional. Took the car in a few times and within a month I got it back and the tail light acquired a crack and the car had a few dents placed on it while in Parkway's possession. Now by no means am I disappointed with katy she did her job well. But why was the car put out for sale with the flywheel cracked? Yes flywheel cracked with a little over 45k miles on the car. Sales is where my problem sat I requested they fix the dents and cracked tail light and nothing. Update the crack in the tail light has gotten bigger. Dents still there. Service department is pretty on point and professional. Sales.... not so much that's why I give this review. Most likely wouldn't buy from parkway again.
