Leaving town tomorrow and needed a dip manicure and gel pedicure... even though I told them that is what I needed and after rushing through my morning to get to my appt. The place is dirty and empty .. not a good sign then they are like .. the girl that's good a dip isn't in today ... sorry. Horrible customer service too. She was so snide and rude about it. The decor is light and bright. They did have availability on a Saturday morning without appointment which was great. The no-chip mani I got was messy at best. The nail tech completely skipped over my nail beds - I had to ask her to go back and fix some. And there are bits of nail file edges skin stuck in the varnish and the tips of my nails are jagged. It already looks like this mani has grown out by a week. No impressed. They offered to fix it when I was paying but I had other appointments to get to. I only come here when I am up in the Park Ridge area visiting friend. So I have been a few times but then my friend said they changes ownership and you can totally tell. Here are my list of reason why we will never be back. So, thank goodness another nail place just opened not to far from here. It was clean when my friend and I came in on a Sunday and it was empty that others feel the same way. This place used to be packed on weekends. 1. I loved that they used green products. My nails always felt great after going there especially since I have really sensitive skin. Not any more. They use the stand products you find any other Asian run nail salon. This is nothing special about this place anymore. 2. There was no one waiting, in fact the place was empty on a Sunday afternoon. We had an appointment and one of ladies kept rushing me to pick a color. So much for a relaxing experience. 3. I had a cut on one of my cuticles and I told her 3 times but she continued to get nail polish remover, alcohol and lotion in it. My friend even said something when I jumped a bit because it hurt. There was one girl who was nice and helpful and the rest were rude and laughed at my mother and I while we were asking for help and sitting there confused about the prices. Came here during my break since it was near my work but unfortunately I will not be coming back. The individuals at the salon were very sweet and nice. The inside was also very clean and sanitary. I personally like a salon that has a lot of choices to pick and walking in I thought there were a lot but when I got closer all the colors were typically ranging around the same shade. I also was not a fan of the manicurist doing my nails after she took off my no-chip and cleaned my nails they usually have my cuticles soak before pushing them which they didn't here so I thought that was different and very rough to my nail. Also the shaping of my nails were all uneven. I asked for no -chip but less than a week later my nail polish and nails started to chip. read more

I visited Green Nails for the first time today, let me start with the good.. it was easy to get an appointment and when I arrived I was the only customer, the space was bright and clean and the staff was pleasant enough and the mani/pedi I received was pretty standard, nothing spectacular but above average. Prior to booking my appt I checked yelp and the reviews were pretty positive and I also checked the website for pricing. now for the reason for the 2 stars, upon arrival I was told to pick a color and so I went to the color wall and grabbed the one I wanted, I didn't notice the tiny label under the paint that said an additional $5.00 for certain long stay colors.. this in my opinion is ridiculous, an entire bottle of this longer stay essie polish is 11.99 at target (and that's retail pricing), so why on earth would you charge an additional $5.00 to use it on your customers who are already paying for the manicure service and that's per service so an additional $10 if getting a mani pedi.!?? Then, on top of that when it was time to pay I was charged $45 for the mani pedi even though the website clearly states $40 for this combo. They said prices were raised because of covid.. So all told, my $40 mani pedi ended up costing $65.00 incl tip! I don't know about you but that is craziness to me. I typically get my mani/pedi's downtown so I'm no stranger to paying higher prices for these services but the nickle and dime tactics here are where I draw the line. I won't be back and honestly with several other salons to try in the area I would steer clear of this one. One more thing, only one day post pedi and my heels feel so rough like I never even got one, so there's that. :( read more

I am extremely picky with my nails and they did a great job! I've been coming here since we moved to park ridge in 2021. they always do a great job and have lots of options for colors. They don't charge for no chip removal and they have recently started doing little shoulder massages after service. I've been to a couple other places in the area but this is my favorite and I think has the best prices. read more

I was a walk in and the front door was locked, first red flag. Why would the business be open with a locked door? The lady locked the door after I walked in which was discomforting. I don't get why they had the door locked. The salon furniture is mainly white. If you're going to have white furniture then make sure it's clean, the place was dirty. No one seemed very friendly, there were barely any words exchanged and my lady was handling me like I was made of glass. She exfoliated my feet and ankles and managed to make them look crusty. Lol how'd I walk in with nicer feet than when I left? She didn't clean my nail beds and she only cut the cuticles on my big toes. The place felt like a library. They had two televisions on with no sound. No one spoke at alll. After fanning my feet for a while they put cuticle oil and a bag over both feet which damaged my polish. I wore very loose slip on shoes and a live no more than 10 minutes away. Not TERRIBLE but I definitely wouldn't go back. They didn't didn't paint a few of the nails completely and cut the nails unevenly. read more

Do NOT come here. The pedicure was the WORST I have ever had. Every pedicure I've ever had has always lasted 45-60 minutes and this place was only half an hour from start to finish. I did NOT get any type of massage on my legs or feet, and only got one lotion rubbed on. She also made me hold my own light for the gel polish instead of being able to relax during my pedicure. The manicure was not much better, with zero massage and it lasted a whopping twenty minutes. The price chart did not match the price we paid, which is very unprofessional and misleading. The place was very clean, but it was not worth the money AT ALL. My group of 3 plus myself will not be returning. read more

I think this is a good idea and sanitary for the customers and the workers. This is my first review ever, and I'm sorry it's a negative one. I was a walk-in for a pedicure. After a long workout across the street at FFC, I wanted to treat myself for a pedicure. Since I live in the neighborhood, wanted to support local small establishment. The salon seems clean. After I picked out my polish, sat on the chair at 10am. My pedicurist was done with everything at 10:13am. Everything was nonexistent, my massage was like 3 seconds on each leg. I'm super disappointed in the service. Less than 20 mins pedicure no thank you!!! I understand it's hard during this crazy times with the pandemic. But if you gonna do the job, treat people like how you would like to be treated. My 2 daughters went in for pedicures on a Monday afternoon. Salon was not busy. The pedicure was completed in under 15 minutes - no attention to detail, just rushed to get it done and the polish on. Maybe they were in a hurry to leave but it was a full 90 mins until closing. Also would not take the coupons I was given and claimed the owner wasn't there. Ridiculous. Disappointed in the pedicure I got. Even though I told the nail tech I was not happy with how she cleaned the bottom of my feet, she did not care. She told me if I wanted that it's $5 more for "sports pedicure " or something like that. I said that is fine but she did not do it. Green Nails is extremely clean, and always has been, even before COVID-19. They take their time on your nails, and they always look great! It is rather pricey, and sometimes I have had the problem of my nails chipping within a few days of my appointment, but not all the time. I heard that they have switched ownership recently, which you can certainly tell, but not in a bad way. read more

Today was my first experience at green nails and spa! I want to say that I love it, I really do. I have a few big problems that are critical when I choose a nail salon. The selection of colors. If your looking for something different, special, or a variety of "fall colors" just forget it. There is no selection for no chips, maybe 20 colors. They also don't have exact matches so I had to settle for a different brown on my toes. I am a huge believer on massage. It was ok. Things I did love- it wasn't ur average place. Beautiful inside. Clean, wonderful relaxing music, nice people around you. My pedicure lady spoke great English, that is nice. They seriously did 6 steps when I bought the green tea package- it felt never ending that was wonderful. They offered me tea/water. So nice! I want to change to 5/5 stars but I just can't. I tried this place for the first time on the first Saturday in December based on a friend recommendation. The inside is nicely decorated but the staff are not very friendly and you could hear a pin drop in the whole place. An Eastern European girl took care of me. We started with the pedicure, the water was cold and so were the towels they use towards the end of the pedicure. I didn't say anything and tried giving the place a shot because I desperately wanted to find a go-to nail salon in the area. Then we went to the no chip. All in all the service took longer than expected but you can tell she wasn't overly experienced. My no chip ended up being all bubbly with a few bloody cuticles. At the time of payment I was told tips could only be in cash however when I made the appointment and stated I was a first time customer they didn't mention that. I had to leave the salon to drive and find an ATM and come back to the salon so I can tip the girl that waited on me. That's absolutely ridiculous! They weren't even willing to make an exception because of the circumstances of not being notified initially. All to save on the merchants fee. Sadly, I won't be back and still in need of a go to salon in the area. read more

On my previous message I acknowledged that my sisters had good experiences and that I have nothing bad to say about the place itself. My review was about the bad experience I had and I actually understand now that you had to hire outside employees due to busy schedule. It just makes sense. I wish you stopped there though. A simple acknowledgement or apology would have been ok but you went ahead and made us look really bad. Why? To discredit that I had a bad experience? Geesh You were sorry but not really? Awesome customer service. What record are u talking about? We set up an appointment for 5pm not 4 because one of us had work til 4. Maybe somebody on your end didn't get the correct time. And yes, for 4 people. Due to bad weather, we actually called ahead of time saying that we're going to be a little late and that the 4th person couldn't make it. Somebody actually picked up the phone and told us it was ok. We showed up and paid for the services. Besides, it's not our fault that you had to cancel your two regular customers' appointment to accomodate us. I think that's bad business. And it didn't take us 30mins to pick our colors, that's just ridiculous. Who takes that long? With that being said, it looks like your strategy is to make us look bad to make you look good? We came there because of the good reviews you have. You already have a good team. No need to bash us. Lastly, if the comments you said were true, is it a justification of the bad behavior of your temporary tech? I have been a customer since the doers first opened. I have always been satisfied with the services and ambience. Unfortunately, the last two times I have been there it has not been the same. Last week was by far the worse. I came in for a manicure and pedicure. Honestly, my nails looked worse leaving than from when I came in. They are shaped/cut uneven and the nail polish is sloppy and also uneven. Lastly both of my last visits I have had someone mop the floors behind me and directly next to my feet while I have been finishing getting a manicure or sitting and drying my nails. The last thing I want to smell is the strong scent from the mop bucket and feel it swish past my feet. Such a disappointment. read more

Worst service ever. Rated 1 because zero is not an option. I went in for gel removal and I left with gel residue on every single fingernail. Nail tech uses the same dirty glove on multiple clients, which is not very sanitary. Finish one client, stick the glove their pocket. Next client comes, take it out, blow it out and reuse. Really I want to give 3.5 stars I went to Green Nails for a pedicure. Let me first say that I like my callouses sloughed off. and very roughly sloughed. (Say that 10 times fast!!) I went last minute without an appointment on a Wednesday late afternoon. I was taken right away. Pros: VERY clean just as the others have said. Typical pricing ($40 for the green tea pedi) Plenty of polish to pick from Gel or regular polish available Beautiful job on the polish Cons: NO cheese grater for the callouses (that may be in the PRO category for you) The girl who did my pedi kept forgetting things and the woman in charge had to keep reminding her. Massage was not hard or long enough for the price While this was not a bad pedicure, I've definitely had better. I'm not sure if I will go back. I'm somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I recently went for a no chip mani & pedi. I called ahead and made an appt specifically for these services. I arrive, no welcome or hello, just stood there for a bit before anyone acknowledged I was there, saw this happen to a few other people. Why do all nail salons have to be so sad face and unwelcoming? I mean if you don't like what you do, don't do it?! First, the decor seems a bit run down, no massage chairs, seems they were built by hand of plywood and painted white. As you can imagine paint is peeling, looks dingy. Floor dirty, looks swept never washed, which this made me skeptical of cleanliness overall. You place your feet into a copper bowl, but I didn't see any bleach or cleaning going on in between people like I see hard core scrubbing at other places that have the bubbly foot baths. I hope they are not counting on copper's bacteria resistant properties that heavily. The chairs are uncomfortable, if you are tall, there is not the appropriate amount for leg room. So sad faces aside, the services.... The pedi was ok, no hard core scrubbing of the soles, more like "maintenance scrubbing" meaning they assume you have a pedi every 2 weeks. Less work for them I guess. I asked for square nails, got rounded version. I did enjoy the hot stone massage and that they offer to add in baking soda, lemon or green tea to the water. My cuticles were trimmed nicely, but under nail cleaning of dead skin was omitted, not cool. Mani time... the music they play there is so relaxing, I was ready for a nap. They also have 2 flat screen tv's with movies going which is nice. The same lady that did my pedi started my mani. Mid way through she got up and left. I thought maybe she had to do something, but there I sat for a while with no one. She ended up just going to start someone's pedi that was directly behind me, and I had to wait until another manicure was done before my interrupted one would be finished. I ended up in there for nearly 2 hours due to this. The second lady did a mediocre job on the no chip, she put extra nail polish on the tips, and when dry this looks like duck lips, not professional. Finally, about their scheduling. The music is about the only "zen" experience here. The lady who answered phones stated at one point that they are absolutely booked right now (at the time 2 people in the salon, with 4 nail techs), a few min later a lady walked in with no appt and they took her anyway. No real organization. Overall, pricey $65 for no chip mani and regular pedi, not super clean, not comfy chairs, and definitely not friendly. Park Ridge has a ton of nail salons to choose from, think I'll try a different place next. read more

This single star is for the poor business practice. GIFT CARDS BUYERS BEWARE! I called to make a mani pedi appointment and disclosed to the person who answered the phone that I had a $50 gift card my husband had given me 2 years ago at the start of Covid. She then said "that is too old"; I will give you $25 for it. I asked if they had a policy and told her there was no expiration date on the card, after a pause, she came back and said OK, you can come in. I showed up for my noon appointment a few min. early and was greeted by Ana who did a wonderful job. I gave Ana her tip in cash and gave her the gift card to pay for the service. The young lady who was answering the phones and processing the payments told me that "your card is only worth $20"!!! She kept repeating that "the computer says it is only worth $20". To the best of my knowledge, nobody could have used this card. My husband and I are empty nesters and the card had been in a drawer along with other cards I have received since Covid for spa services etc (from other vendors). I have been too afraid to have services such as these until now. So, before you buy a gift card for services, ask the business about their policies. How long will that card hold its value? read more
