I've been coming to this nail shop for many years (at least 7 years). All my friends knew this was "my nail place". I wouldn't go to any other place. In January/2020, I got my pedicure done by one of the older women there. This lady was nice. However, I wasn't happy with the overall pedi she gave me. I had dry skin on my feet and expected smooth feet once I was done. She only spent about 10-15 seconds scrubbing each foot, which didn't do much. I went home and felt the bottom of my feet. They felt as if I never got this pedicure. I called the owner (Hana) and told her the issue. I was very nice and understanding and told her I'm not calling for compensation or a free service. I simply wanted her to know so the employee is aware and hopefully doesn't repeat this. Hana, on her own, said my next pedicure is free. I told her that I'd like her to do it next time. Fast forward to March 2. I came in for the free pedi. I find it shocking that when you're a "paying" customer how nice and respectful Hana is towards you, but when she offers you a free service, she is rude as hell. Hana wasn't as friendly as she always was. She put my feet in scolding hot water and hurt me while clipping my toes. I've never experienced this there before. She had a sour look on her face the whole time. Hana showed her true colors. I'm not going back there again. It's sad because for many years, I liked the place/staff, but once they aren't profiting from you, they view you as a waste of time and money. Well, you're actually making up for the crappy service your initial employee provided. There are many other great nail salons. Please stay away from this one. I found this nail salon in desperate need of a manicure and pedicure. I walked in on a Wednesday evening and only had to wait 10 minutes to be started on despite not having an appointment. I told my lady the color i wanted for my toes and asked if they had the same in Gel (no chip) for my hands, and she told me there wasn't but she could find a similar matching color, which was absolutely fine by me. The pedicure was very relaxing and she scrubbed the heck out of the bottom of my feet. The polish was even and no bubbles. My manicure was done by Sue...and she's fast but my mani came out looking clean and the gel polish was nicely painted, covering my whole nail, and no polish was on my skin(which is important to me). She did a great job considering i had very short nails and i know how tedious that is to work with. Next, i had my eyebrows waxed and a different lady took me inside the wax room and she cleaned up my brows the way i wanted it. Everything took about an hour and forty minutes. The service i had was fairly priced except having to pay $10 extra to take off gel polish that were on my toes in the beginning which i thought was a bit much.. Overall, I think this salon is pretty and clean and staff is friendly. Its been 5 days and my pedi and mani still look fresh with NO CHIPS!! read more

First and foremost when my little sister and I walked into this nail salon, no one greeted us. They just said what are u getting? And a little kid walked up to us saying hello. Maybe she's the nail tech daughter but she was the only one courteous. My lil sis and I were first to come in then another lady came in after. We all wanted pedicures. They set us up in the pedi chairs and only started working on my sis and the lady that came in after us. So I'm just sitting waiting and the girl working on my sis didn't tell me the other tech would be working on me soon, I had to ask. Everytime I've driven by this place, I wonder if its actually open, as no one ever is seen going in or out. Now I know why. I called on a Saturday morning inquiring if I needed an appt. They said no, so I said I'll be there in a few min. When I arrived, the place was dead empty, not one client (when most nail salons are packed on Sat morning's). To my surprise, I was asked "do you have an appt?" I responded no, that I just spoke with someone over the phone. The 3 ladies there, all looked at each other in a kind of "can we handle this volume of customers?!" They agreed to take me, which seemed like they were doing me a favor. The whole 1.5 hrs I was there, no clients ever came. The one friendly lady was in the middle of doing her daughters nails, then her son ran out from the waxing room, and she did his pedicure too. While there are 4-5 pedicure massage chair stations, they only use 1 for customers, rest are decoration. The place does have potential, its nicely decorated, 2 flat screen tv's always have a movie going. But while sitting there, you get this odd vibe, like "should I be here? did I just intrude on some family time?" Dad was there too, doing handyman type of work throughout the place. They have a huge wall of OPI colors to choose from, seriously a huge selection. But I'm not sure if what is in the bottle is OPI... I chose a color I had at home, so I could do touch ups if need be. Well the color at home, which was authentic, was a few shades off. They use some cheap top coat, not Seche Vete like other salons. I asked the lady doing my nails (who did not speak a word of English, nor could crack a smile or pretend today was not the end of the world) to do square nails. She nodded her head. Hmm, did she understand me? She continued to make round nails, like a 5 year olds nails... so I asked can you file that straight? She said ok, and made them EVEN MORE ROUND?! Hmm, communication problem? We finished the pedicure, and she lead me to the manicure station, and all of the sudden she spoke english "you pay, you pay now", ok, I'm getting the money out of my purse, while she hovers over me in a less than friendly way. "ya pay now". I HEARD YOU, you see what I'm doing? And this my friends is why no one comes here. While the mani/pedi is mediocre at best, this lady has some interpersonal skills that could use a tweek, or million. read more

Feels so good~ I'm a little embarrassed to be writing a review on this shop - NOT because of anything they did wrong...they were excellent! I'm a little shy because I don't know many manly men who get their nails done. In fact, this will probably be my first and last time.... or so I thought... I actually ended up going back a second time. The first time I just went along with my gf. She was getting her nails done. First off, the owner is EXTREMELY kind. I am fussy and picky and she is always so kind. I'll be honest, I'm the kind of person that if one nail is not up to standard, I want it fixed. The owner always treats me well and makes sure I'm satisfied. The place is extremely clean, nice bathroom, and the massage chairs are phenomenal. I love their movie choices and the 2 tvs are great because you can see them form any chair. They have an extensive no chip color range BUT only use the opi one, the other chipped really easy. With the manicure you get an AMAZING massage, with hot towel and everything. I swear that alone is worth coming here. Bonus? Avalanche smoothie next door is amazing and a refreshing treat after pampering yourself. I think they might own both places and I'll gladly give them my money for such good service. read more

I am usually not picky when it comes to nail and hair. If I get a bad hair cut, it will grow and I will not visit the place again. I feel the same about my nails. If I get a bad nail job, I just wont come back. And that is how I felt about N design. I came, the no chip was really bad so I figured I won't come again thinking that i will need to change it in 2.5 weeks. Well I went home and a few hours later my no chip, chipped. It bubbled and it peeled off. So I didnt just have a bad nail job where it was crooked on the beds, it bubbled and fell off all together. That's when I got pissed and decided to give them the benefit of doubt again and said please help me because I look ratchet. Well, the place was empty but they told me to come back around 430 or maybe 5 because they are not busy then and can take me in. I couldn't come back then so I took my butt to nail essence where they were busy as hell but managed to fit me in and do a kick ass job. They looked at my nails and said, did you do these yourself. I keep wanting to love this place. So many things to rave about - the service, cleanliness, pricing-specials during the week, selection of colors (lots of OPI, Essie, and no-chip) and general cuteness (details - little doggy ring holders at each station, decals on the walls, chick flicks playing throughout the day). 4 stars for the quality of no-chip manicures. I've had it done twice here, and both times I've caught bubbles under my polish, pretty much every nail. During this most recent visit, I said something about one nail, and she corrected it quickly, but left the others in place. Boo. Will be back for pedicure and regular manicure, but I'll probably go elsewhere for my no-chips. read more

This is probably my least favorite nail salon in the area. They do a very sloppy job and are basically lazy. If you get there early, they won't even let you soak your feet for a few minutes. They advertise that they are open until 8, but they openly say that they close between 7:15 and 7:30. I wanted to get a mani/pedi done today and I stopped by this place since it's close to my house. This place is very clean and organized. I love the set up! All the employees are very caring and nice. The nail technician there drew a flower on my toes and they're soooo beautiful. The 5 minutes massage that they give felt really good. The massage chair during the pedicure felt so relaxing. Love this little place! It was my first time here, I was in the neighborhood, yelped a nail salon nearby and came across this cute little store. Its clean, quaint, and the staff is polite. I came on a Wednesday so mani/pedi was only $30 and they have a huge selection of Essie and OPI polishes. They have big screen tvs playing chick flicks, a massaging chair while you get a pedi and a shoulder/neck massage while you get a mani!! it was perfect! Loved every second of it. The lady who attended to me was sweet but very quiet, which I don't mind, I don't like the chatter. It was very relaxing and just what I needed! I walked in and I was not greeted. So I spoke up and said hi I'd like to get a no chip manicure and I also have some acrylic that need to be removed. They told me they do not remove acrylic. This place is great. Everyone is so friendly. It's super cozy, very clean, tastefully decorated and they have a large screen tv that plays movies while you get your nails done. Both times I was there, someone came over and placed a warm, ginger-scented pillow around my neck. The first time the manicure was okay, not the best color application or cuticle clean-up that I have ever had but still decent. The second time I went, I got Sally and she was amazing. Very friendly, talked to me the whole time and was very thorough with my cuticles and really great polish application. I will be back to see Sally. I have gone to this salon since it opened and have never had a problem getting an appointment or service when I happened to walk in. Today was different... When I walked in, the salon was moderately busy. I asked if I could get a pedicure and the girl behind the front desk rolled her eyes, looked annoyed and asked if I had an appointment. I said no, and she then said, "We can't.". I was in utter disbelief that she refused a customer and never even offered to try to schedule an appointment or ask me to come back a little later, so I just walked out. I will NEVER go to this salon again and will make sure all of my friends in Morton Grove avoid it too. If your business is so good that you can afford to turn away long-time customers, who walk-in, and offer such atrocious customer-service, then I am happy to spend my money elsewhere. The service is great- as long as the owner (Lisa) is there. She's so sweet and actually cares about her customers. Jessica, another employee, was also fantastic. She was extremely kind and did my nails PERFECTLY. I had my nails done by 2 other girls and my nails turned out bad/didn't last long each time, but when I went in on two different occasions to have Lisa & Jessica fix my no-chip manicure it lasted 3 weeks!! They also have a special Monday-Wednesday: $25 for a no-chip. $25!!! The price is great and the service is too. You get a huge selection of polishes, entertainment during your services & a complimentary hand/arm/back massage with every manicure. These girls are great. I got my nails done there and they are stunning. I had Lucy as my manicurist and she was very thorough and careful. I love this place for mani/pedi's. They play movies while you are there so you get lost in the movies while they are doing your nails. Everyone that works there speaks English and they are all extremely friendly. If your nail chips with in a few days they will let you come in for a free touch up to make your nails look fresh again and last a little longer. I feel so relaxed after I leave here.
