This is a "self-serve" or better coined "self-suds" dog wash, which is an important distinction…read morefrom your average groomer. Reasons why a pet owner may prefer to wash their pup in person include, as stated on their website: + They have busy schedules and time constraints + They do not have enough dog grooming experience + They do not feel comfortable grooming their dogs themselves + They own multiple pets who require grooming + They own long-haired dog breeds + Medical conditions or injuries limit their movement and ability to bathe their dog + They have limited grooming space in their home and yard + It is easier than washing their dog in the bathtub or using an outdoor hose Our reason for checking it out: + Our short haired Terrier jumped into bed in the morning and dug his little snout under the covers, which was so adorably cute, we let him under the sheets completely, and when we finally got out of bed, we discovered a friggin' haystack of tan dog hair, holy Scarecrow does this dude shed. And our bathtub just doesn't do the trick. Puddles is the direct result of a small business owner, a groomer, who listened to her customer's requests. The venue charges on a sliding scale, from $5-$25 (depending on weight/size). Nail clips are $5. The dog stands in a small bathing bay, you spray the dude down, shampoo and wash (soaps are safe and all natural), dry with a shammy and finally, give 'em a blow dry (most dogs, including ours, hate that part). Employees stand nearby and assist as you request. Your dog stares longingly into your eyes, anxiety-ridden, whimpering, but at least you're someone he trusts. The shop offers other small bells and whistles like treats, accessories and a free bandana following the wash. They're also happy to post a Glamour Shot of your dog on their social channels. Oh, BTW, our dog was softer than we'd ever known, and shed-free for at least ten minutes.

But, at puddles the employee helping us out was extremely hands on and got the job done. I really appreciate what hard work they put in to get my dogs nails done. After a bath, they let you pick out a bandana which is just the sweetest thing.

I have had troubles with this groomer in the past! Six weeks ago I decided to give them another try…read morewhen my latest groomer suffered an injury that required her to give up grooming dogs all together. Some background info first: I have Chinese Cresteds, the powderpuff type. (If you Google the breed and type you will find descriptions and MANY pictures. In the past, several years ago I took my 2cresteds to All Angels for the first time with disastrous results. The boys returned to me looking like they had been attacked with rogue scissors! While I realize this breed is unique, I've known students who have done a better job than my boys got! So I told them I was unhappy and received no real compassion from them. I then found another groomer, who after a few years of wonderful care and grooming, suffered an injury that did not allow her to continue her career. So I returned to All Angels after not to finding any groomers who could handle the specifications. Success!! That groomer was very understanding of my requests. Being powder puffs means my dogs are fully coated in long fine hair. I like them shaved and clipped unto a hairless confirmation. Leave the socks, mane and shave down the body hair and muzzle. Its pretty straightforward if you follow the available online pictures. (They sort of look like "My Little Ponies.") This brings us to today. I am disabled and homebound so my husband brought them into the shop. Because I learned their groomer who last serviced them was not available, before their arrival I called and spoke to someone, trying to give instructions. All I wanted was for them to follow the previous line and trim up their face, necks and shave down the body. Did they have any questions? No I was shocked when my husband returned home with them. No line was followed. Their ears look like the hair was hacked from them and the mane is unevenly chiseled throughout! It will be at least a year or more before the damage is healed! I called to complain and got a "mansplaining" explanation that I didn't get there soon enough and being crated caused all the damage. Yeah, Right! My timeline of their text to me telling me they were ready and my husband's payment is less than 30 minutes. I was told I could return them tomorrow for repairs. Yeah, Right! I don't think so. If I could give this business less than one star I would. Needless to say, I am again on the hunt for a groomer who excels in special grooms. Thank you for listening.
