Buyer beware. I hired them to instal some artificial turf and it turned into a total nightmare of an experience. So bad in fact they had to do it twice. The first attempt at the instal was horrible. The turf was patchy with huge visible seams. Not to mention they left their junk behind (roller for the turf, wood skiffs). They emailed me then declared the job done and requested final payment. When I got home from work I took one look at it was like no way. The turf looked completely fake, and felt weird. Not to mention laid in awkward patterns. See pic. I had a contractor friend take a look, and he told me the quality of the turf was the cheapest on the market. Which makes sense because it looked like trash. I called Meir the owner, and expressed my discontent. He was nice enough to agree to redo the work, however I needed to pay an extra 600$ for the labor. I agreed, and he then dropped off samples for me to chose from. I found one that I really liked, that looked NATURAL like what I wanted from the beginning. Two weeks later, the men showed up and installed it. Only to discover that they installed the wrong turf and NOT the one I had selected. See pic. When I called the Meir, he told me that the one I chose was not in stock for three weeks and he didn't want to wait. He then went on an on about how this was better quality...completely ignoring the fact that I did not chose this turf and was very unhappy about this. It looks better than the first, but still super fake and unnatural. He refused to correct the issue and instead just deducted 300 bucks of the extra labor cost..which I incurred to fix his horrible first installation. So I'm left with a lawn that Im very unhappy with, a bright green turf that doesn't look very natural at all for SoCal. And they did it one big piece, then four squares that don't blend perfectly. But whatever I just approved it to be done with this company. The way they do business is not cool. read more

I contracted with Green Planet Builders twice; the first contract was to replace my house's fifty-year-old main sewer line with ABS pipe. Meir and his plumbing crew performed an excellent rebuild of the sewer line in a timely manner and within budget. I was so impressed with Meir personality and professional attitude that I contracted with him for a second time to redesign my guest bathroom. This project involved replacing the drain lines under the concrete floor, rerouting plumbing to accommodate the new setup, redoing the new walls, tiling the floor and shower walls, installing shower and toilet, installing wall mounted vanity, installing recess lighting and new exhaust fan, installing new doors and finish painting the bathroom and doors. Meir's workers were professional, and the work was completed on time. Meir even took care of repairing any cosmetic damage caused to a wall of the adjoining room, the hallway and the even the entrance door that needed patching and painting. Overall, I am so satisfied with Meir's professional and friendly attitude that I am going to contract with him on multiple projects in and around the house. His team members are extremely hard working, and they go out of their way to finish the job on time and within budget. More importantly Meir is very knowledgeable and detail oriented, which is very hard to find nowadays. What I like the most about him is his calm and reassuring attitude. I searched numerous roofers and general contractors to find someone to box-in the eaves (and presumably leave the house a bit less vulnerable to fire). Several contractors came to the house, and then "ghosted" me. I'm thankful to have found Meir and GPB. He responded quickly, and within a few days we had contracts signed and work had commenced. Everything was done professionally and efficiently, and all was completed within a week or so. At first, the price seemed a bit high, but overall within the range to be expected. (You get what you pay for.). I did have to contact them to do a little more cleanup, but Meir sent his crew back within a few hours and everything was finished beautifully. The good: Lowest quote of 6 quotes. Well maybe 2nd lowest so that's very good. The Not so Good: While we really like our finished patio for some reason one paver stone of the trim is the wrong color. We have extras and yet they didn't fix that glaring mistake. Nice dark grey trim and then ONE LIGHT GREY paver... sigh. Also, 3 maybe 4 paver stones have slight chips. Noticeable since it's brand new and again because we have extra pavers. Why did they not catch this? I'll tell you why -- Jacob/Meir came to our house the minimal amount of time. They did not manage their workers. Constantly arguing in my presence and in front of my wife. Do not post a response that denies this. Completely unacceptable... sigh. I wasn't going to write a review one way or the other but I'm disappointed and will not hide my subpar overall experience. The process was not smooth at all. Time to pay or sign contract, I'm getting called, emailed, and they show up. Time to talk about the job or oversight of the crew and... uh... where are you? I thought I was hiring Jacob that's why I chose this company. Nope, he's not the one doing the work. Atleast not for us. Workers were very nice and hard working respect that. But what a shame. Such a beautiful patio. All that effort and noticeable imperfections that were easy to catch. It's brand new. You're doing the work. We have left over pieces. So easy to fix in the moment just needed someone there paying attention... sigh. I caught some stuff and they promptly fixed. But it was not my responsibility to watch them like a hawk. Mad at myself for not looking over their shoulders more... you're right -- that wasn't my job! Workers left some waste behind. I find it reasonable. But perhaps that is unacceptable too since cleanup should be part of the job. I was expecting to see Jacob to end the day as he said to "settle up" and take final payment. But as it went the entire time, tell me one thing, tell the workers another. So... settled up with the workers. I don't care about that. But had Jacob showed like he said and should have. I certainly would have asked him what he's going to do about the chipped pavers and wrong color in the trim not being corrected -- again we have extras what was the problem... sigh! read more

Highly recommend for outdoor work. Very fast, very clean, and a great value. They widened the driveway apron, redid the parkway with mulch and paver walkways, redid the side of the house, which was a weed jungle to all pavers, repaved areas we took out trees with concrete, and replaced a half-assed paver job a previous owner did with clean concrete. They also redid our kitchen, which was super fast (2.5 weeks), and really clean at the end. It could have been faster if the electrical guy didn't flake a couple of times, leading to needing to re-patch and paint. Jacob and Meir made sure to get everything exactly how we wanted and wanted to make sure we were satisfied. We were a bit picky, so that took a while. read more

We had an old concrete patio, crackled, even dangerous for the kids. After having seen some pavers contractors, we decided to wait for 2021 to start the works as we were not convinced. Then, we gave us a last chance and contacted Green Planet Builders. We met Jacob on the next day. He is not the typical commercial guy with his tie. He is super friendly and knowledgeable, from A to Z. I'm a civil engineer, so I know what he was talking about. And he was the first (and only) one who didn't tell mistakes. Same day, we signed the contract. He was not the cheapest one, but we know why. Because if you want a great job, you have to pay for it. So they replaced our old concrete patio with pavers and the wrapped up our old concrete stairs, in about 6 days. We have lawn and flowers everywhere around, so I asked them to be careful. That's what they did. They even never walked on the grass. No dust. No mess. Just super friendly workers who knew what they had to do. Hired Green Planet Builders for a remodel project which included converting a patio to livable space, relocation of a bathroom, and kitchen. This only includes rough framing, electrical, and plumbing. The project may sounds smalls, but at the end of the day, the entire house was gutted, rewired all electrical, and plumbing was redone. Meir (owner) quickly responded to the initial yelp request. Always very responsive to text and will call to provide latest update. Timeline to start the project was relatively quick (1-2 weeks) and approved permits were pulled without any issues. Inspection for all rough components were also coordinated with the city and passed with flying color. Overall, Meir and GPB has a team of contractors that is reliable and professional. We interviewed 5 contractors before we met Meir and Jacob. We knew our job required patience with the local building and safety dept. along with the engineers who designed a new retaining wall. Upfront Green Planet said they would work with us to obtain the permits and assist with the coordination with the civil and structural engineers. We have used GC's in several residential projects and always trusted our feeling about first impressions. In this case, we were right in trusting our difficult project to Green Planet. We tore up our entire backyard (4000 sq ft). to build a spectacular remodeled pool, added a bbq station, and an entertainment zone along with a new Trex fencing. We've decided to use JACOB'S company after a long search. We sifted through numerous over the top quotes by other contractors who's main mission was to sell us projects we didn't need at this time. I was growing so disenchanted with the other contractors I actually vowed to take the time and do the project myself, that is if the last guy didn't pan out. Fortunately the last guy was JACOB. He showed up, humming a tune, was personable, focused on our needs, goals and timeline. Knew exactly the kind of bids we've received and offered us the best deal of them all. During our first meeting, We set a schedule, a day later he called that his crew was available even sooner. That worked well for us. The three men arrived in masks, were professional, and worked on the hottest day of the summer (105°) as if it was just another day. They mentioned they liked Coke, so I ran to pick up a case of Mexican Coke, and bought them a couple of quality lunches, which they didn't expect but truly appreciated. It may not be something everyone does but we feel strongly people should be treated with the gratitude and respect they deserve. In any case, the patio and pathway turned out beyond our expectations. I will post pictures once the entire yard is finished (we're creating an outdoor space for our COVID work from home environment, plus bulding a studio). This is my response to Meir Pinto because he's still complaining about not receiving his final payment. I will not pay for work that is substandard and wrong material used. He claims that he didn't charge me for additional artificial turf that was never installed. I stopped him from doing that because The turf was used and terrible looking. He never offered to fix the project until I posted pictures of the trash left behind by his crew. There is nothing he could do to repair it because it was a done deal with the wrong materials used and substandard work. I explained to him in the beginning that I wanted a hard and compacted surface for the front and backyard. He should have used stabilized DG which he failed to install because it's more expensive. So, the neighborhood cats were using the front and backyard as a litter box. He tried to place a lien on my home but failed, now we are having a hearing on 7/21/2023 with the CSLB Arbitration Board. I refuse to pay him one penny, especially when I had to pay more $$ for Turf Bros. to fix the backyard. I could not afford to have the front yard redone. read more

Meir is great!! Meir recently completed a major renovation at our new home in Westlake Village - and he did a great job! His prices are very competitive, and his payment schedule is incredibly fair. You pay in stages, as the project is being worked on - so, you never have to lay out a huge amount of case before the job is done. A little context: even before we moved to our new house, I had met with Meir to discuss a renovation at my previous house. He was always very communicative and never impatient. Not only did he come back several times to my old property, when I told him we were moving, he never seemed annoyed or upset that the project would not happen for a while. Because of this, we decided to have him renovate our new home. It needed a full kitchen remodel (down to the studs), and a full master bathroom remodel. We met several times to go over the plan, and Meir's estimate and timeline were great. This was going to be my first major renovation - and I had heard all of the disaster stories - but Meir delivered on the tow biggest things: he came in ON BUDGET and ON TIME! The only expenses that we incurred outside of his initial estimate were for a new power panel (which needed to be upgraded) and a few minor things that I had him do (add recessed lights to another room, etc.) There were a few hiccups, mostly with his workers - one of his workers damaged our new refrigerator (which we were able to get replaced), and a bottle of tequila went missing after a few of the workers were around. Also, sometimes the communication is a little less specific than I like (I am very detail oriented, and I like to have specific schedules) - for example, sometimes the schedule will be off by a few days (due to workers availability, materials, etc.) But, in the end, the project was done within the timeline that Meir played out - and again, the budget never changed. When I tell people that we fully renovated a kitchen and master bathroom (with a massive shower tile in herringbone pattern) in 6 weeks, they can't believe it. Meir is very knowledgeable and very even keeled - which is a very good trait. Even when things get stressful, he stays calm and is always reassuring. In a time when trying to get ANYTHING done feels like a losing battle, Meir came through for us, and I would definitely recommend him for any of your renovation needs. J read more

It's been a long time coming getting my fence erected and front yard redone. We live in a craftsman home and it's been really difficult deciding what look and design would be the perfect complement since it's so one of a kind. We met with several contractors and got a whole range of pricing and style opinions, but in the end chose GPB because Meir, the Project Manager was the most sincere and knowledgeable to us. He was well informed and clearly had many projects under his belt without being pushy or a know-it-all. From the beginning he was relateable and conscientious about not having us having to overspend, and had no problem working with us to get a quick fair and reasonable quote and estimate. He came over 3 times to make sure everything was right and didn't give any attitude when we had a concern with the contract and didn't sign at the second meeting, he made the change and worked with our schedules every time. As with any contractors, be very clear in writing with everything discussed, because things might slip later on or be forgotten or unclear. Sometimes it seemed like he had a lot on his mind and would forget certain things we discussed, but I will say he was always quick to take care of any issues immediately. If there was ever a concern he would show up at my property to discuss it with me, so communication was great in that regard. He was there to oversee the crew almost every day and would check in with us to give us a brief summary of what they did and what the next steps would be. They did change out crews several times, all the workers were kind and respectful despite it being in the 100's outside, some days no one was around because of materials being prepared or maybe because of the weather, but they usually would start around 8am or later. The only complaint there would be that two of the crews would fill our trash bins, which we wouldn't have even really minded but they would do it in our recycle or yard waste bins so we would have to manually take it all out and put it in the trash bin. Meir was quick to apologize and was upset because they shouldn't have used our bins at all. So other than that and them leaving other trash around the "work site", they were generally nice. There was a little bit of an issue with the paving stones being the wrong color, in the pamphlet it was presented as a dark charcoal color similar to the color of the stucco we chose, yet when it was laid down, it was significantly lighter and looked like another grey option that was next to the one we chose. Meir insisted it was the right color and that happens when colors are printed on paper, they don't always match the real product, which we weren't happy with that. Eventually we made peace with it and our property will probably be cooler with a lighter shade of stones, at least this is what we're telling ourselves. The work is done pretty well, and he even threw in the middle medallion design for us as a gesture of good faith in the beginning, along with the smaller LED lights in the retainer section in front of our fence that'll accent our future plants wonderfully. The only other mishap was some sort of strange miscommunication about a huge design part of the custom fence. I still don't know what happened but somehow we claims the design only included the frame for the roof, but not an actual roof.. We disagreed adamantly because the design and reference pictures all have roofs, and we even spoke about whether it would be shingled or wood planks etc. He was leaning on a hand drawn design I initialed certain aspects to since there were other concepts we spoke of, so like I said be very clear on the design and agreements made on your projects. He did fix it immediately after all of us panicking, and did try to add more money to what we agreed on paying for the whole project but we didn't budge and his general attitude didn't sour the relationship after. He found an quick affordable option that was better than the original solution and had it done promptly. I am happy with the project overall, and love seeing the design come to life, it goes perfectly with my home, and I do appreciate that Meir generally genuinely and sincerely had enough attention to detail and his supervising during the project. We all wish the property and fence were in a boujie side of town, but hopefully this will inspire more care on our street. I would use them again and recommend them since they did much better than previous contractors we worked with. Don't mind my partner's creepy face in the night time photos, as well as the odd angling of the LED lights, someone had fun messing with them and I was in a hurry, they actually do rotate to illuminate nicely and symmetrically. read more

CON ARTISTS, AVOID! Save yourself some time and trouble and go to the myriad of trustworthy contractors in Los Angeles. Weird experience with this company; They called me in response to my request for a contractor through 'Homeadvisor' website (loads of good peeps on there though!) The initial call was strange, when arranging an appointment for a quote the woman on the phone asked if my husband would be there. When I questioned this with great surprise, they told me that for legal reasons all decision makers must be on site at the time of quote, this is the first I'd heard of it. When I said no, it would be just me, they forgot their earlier 'legal' obligation and arranged an appointment. The guy who showed up was a shyster, who after much time wasting and a barage of personal questions tried to con me with an exorbitant bid, over 3 x that of any of the other 5 bids I had received (ave bid $2600, his bid $9000) When I said politely, thankyou but that is too high for us to consider, he proceeding to try to bully and argue with me. I tried to extricate myself politely, but in the end had to basically tell him to get off my property. A nasty unexpected experience. I then looked up this company, the testimonials on their website smack of being made up by the same person, one of their 2 positive yelp reviews is not recommended by yelp, (based on quality, reliability or user activity on yelp..) read more

The worst experience I have ever encounter with an incompetence company. They were hired to repaint my stamp concrete in the backyard and to demo the small section to match the existing stamp concrete that we already had. The work was supposed to be complete at the end of January 2020. It was not done until 5/14/20. Jacob started the work originally, he messes up so bad that his dad, Meir, had to step in to fix the job. They had to demo the small area twice because the stamp pattern was wrong the first time. When they demo the second time and try to pour the cement, the cement machine EXPLODE and got cement on the wall and driveway. They had to repaint the concrete twice because they got the color wrong. Got paint ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF MY POOL. They clean ALL OF THEIR EQUIPMENT AFTER USING ON MY YARD AND GOT CEMENT RESIDUE ALL OVER ON TO MY NEWLY INSTALL TREK DECK. My deck is pretty much ruined. THEY HIRE A DAY WORKER FROM THE STREET THAT HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. At the end of the job, Meir asked me to pay the day worker because he was out of town and have no way of paying him for the day. Unbelievable.
