Was in town for work and one of my colleagues suggested our group go to Greens for dinner. Turned out to be a great suggestion. When we arrived around 6:15 they were fairly empty and sat our party of 7 right away. They filled up fast and by the time we left there were several parties waiting. I don't think they were expecting a rush on a Tuesday evening. We started with the Deep fried rolls- the strawberry butter and cinnamon honey butter are to die for. They take very donut like especially with the butter. All in our party who ordered steak had it cooked perfectly. There were also several great comments about the broccoli, that it was "fall off the bone", so tender. I had the Gish's chicken. Which tasted very good although the chicken was a tad dry. The waitress was obviously slammed for Tuesday (our party of 7 and party of 11 sat right after us) but made sure to check in and service didn't suffer. We were thoroughly impressed with our meal at Green's. I opted for the 8 oz sirloin, medium rare with a sweet potato and onion rings. The steak was cooked to order perfectly and was one of the juiciest sirloin cuts I've had in a restaurant. No complaints on the sides either, the onion rings tasted fresh (the onions not just sliding out of the batter with the first bite being a hint of that) and the sweet potato was good. My wife had the salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes. She was impressed with the flavor of the salmon and the broccoli was delicous (helped by what we determined was a huge slathering/marinade of butter which probably also undercut any benefits of eating said broccoli). We were with folks who also enjoyed their food and I tried a rib one of them offered and it was truly a well-seasoned slide-off-the-bone work of art. My wife and I were trying to determine what was different about the rolls as they look like average dinner rolls but taste like what we decided was Chinese Doughnuts (this isn't a complaint)--so my guess is they're saturated in butter and possibly flash fried? Definitely different than any dinner roll I've ever had. We wanted to try dessert but they were out of cobbler. We didn't order drinks but the drink menu had a lot of interesting items to choose from. The food took a while to reach us but it was relatively busy. Service was friendly. My only advise/pseudo-critiques: make a reservation (at least as of 2021) and if you're watching your salt/butter/calories/carbs it might be difficult as even the healthiest selection on the menu (salmon and broccoli) is heavy on all of the above (minus carbs). read more

Just moved to the area so the wife and I decided to try this place. Great atmosphere and food. Service was great. Ordered potato skins which are cut cross way instead of long on the potato, really very good. Ordered the ribeye, ask for medium come out extremely rare. However, they took it back and cooked me a new steak they didn't just heat up the one they sent out. Very impressed with that level of customer service. WORST EXPERIENCE IN FOREVER AT GREEN'S IN MADISONVILLE TONIGHT What a night to forget my phone!!! First of all, pretty sure NO ALCOHOL made it into my "top shelf lit". Had it remade so I could at least tell it was an adult beverage, but it was so sour I had to order a coke to add to it, and STILL left most of it sitting there. All time worst LIT. (Btw, BE was not behind the bar.) Was real excited about the prime rib pasta, until I got it. Mushrooms out of a can, tiny pieces of asparagus I could barely find, all mixed up to hide the ROUND STEAK they made it with. Tough, tasteless, square chunks of colorless meat. No way that nastiness was prime rib And on top of all that, the other waitress they left "in charge" couldn't even be bothered to come deal with me. Our poor waitress was so embarrassed and upset she was in tears. It was all I could do to walk out without making a scene on her behalf. If the person you leave "in charge" can't do any better than that then perhaps don't leave her alone to abuse other staff members. This was a top 3 best steak I have ever had! The ambience is perfect and the staff is super friendly. Me and my girlfriend had an an amazing time and meal. She loved the loaded sweet potato and my Ribeye was amazing. It was cooked medium rare perfectly and so tender. We showed up about 30 min earlier than our reservation and it was no problem we were promptly seated. I will definitely be going back here and you should definitely give it a try! read more

We had been saving Green's for a special occasion and finally got to try them out tonight. The atmosphere is great, they have a pianist who plays from a large repertoire, really brings the place to life. The staff is very attentive and we were excited to see the owner making rounds on all the patrons, really felt like a family! We started with the potato skins appetizer. They were not traditional potato skins, more like a half inch slice of potato topped with cheese, bacon, and green onion. Never the less they were very good! I ordered the 6 oz sirloin with brussel sprouts and squash. While the plating may have looked a bit rushed, the food was fabulous. To me, the mark of a good steak is not needing steak sauce. The steak was very well seasoned, leaving a nice crisp crust and great flavor. The squash was not overcooked and had a nice bite to it. The brussel sprouts were also well seasoned, may have been slightly on the soft side for me. My husband had the half rack of ribs which fell right off the bone, delicious. The macaroni and cheese was hearty and very cheesy, and he really enjoyed the broccoli. Overall we had a fantastic experience for a very reasonable price. First visit. They were busy. We were told 35 minute wait but got a table in 20 minutes. Yay! Unfortunately after an hour and a half at the table still no food. We saw our waitress once after taking our order and she explained they had 2 big parties come in and we really didn't need to hear that. It only added anguish. Then finally when she refilled our drinks we asked how long before we would get our food and she said "I have no idea but there are two in front of you". At that point we had enough and left. Okay, I didn't know a restaurant refused carry out or chose which night they would do it. During Covid the community was begged to support by doing carry out, which we did. Delicious food but SLOWWWWW service. Our server was very friendly but didn't seem too knowledgeable on the menu or drinks. I asked for a "Tito's club" and the first was gin and tonic the second was gin and club the third was vodka and tonic, I eventually asked for a red wine and our server said our manager made this one and brought a Tito's and club soda try it.... So I was like uhm ok... the food was good once we finally got it, literally an hour after we ordered, we would give it another try but not take the kids and hope that it wouldn't take 3 hours to get sat, order and eat dinner. read more

The steaks are great and the bread is amazing too. 2 people in our party had sirloins, 1 had a ribeye, and the other had the salmon and none of us had any complaints. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the fact that when we arrived they didn't have the reservation I made on their books. This was only our second time at Green's, and it just wasn't great. I ordered the pork chops and added the premium side of asparagus. The chops were tough, and I got 4 1/2 pieces of asparagus, as did My daughter in law. As a premium side that I had to pay extra for, I expect more than 4 1/2 pieces. My husband and son both ordered the 14 oz ribeye. The steaks were switched so my husband went through half of the meal thinking his steak was overcooked, while my son went through half of the meal thinking his steak was too rare. So neither enjoyed their meal. The mac and cheese was dry, the silverware was dirty, there was broccoli floating in the water and my drink was never refilled. Tonight, it was a very overpriced meal. We went to Green's on 9-3-20. From start of our order to the entree delivery was 25 minutes. Excellent. Didn't feel rushed and our server was attentive. We had the potato skins and it turned out to be a potato cut width wise in 3/4 inch slices and topped w/ cheese, bacon bits and green onion. I would probably change the name to more correct description. We both had the bigger ribeye and when brought out it was clear there were 2 different SIZED steaks. I had the brussel sprouts as a side and to my wonderment they were from a CAN!!! A bit overcooked but that's what a microwave does to canned veggies. Local grocery stores has them fresh on the shelf. To boot, I noticed if you wanted an order alacarte it will set you back $3.79. I found that outrageous!!! Someone there needs to be reminded that In this day, people expect fresh, if available, but certainly not for canned. I would pay that amount if they were fresh and prepared smartly. Not sure when we will try them again but was an eye opener that this relatively new restaurant would settle for canned vs fresh. read more

This place is a gem! Very sophisticated on the inside and has a piano player sometimes. The food was good, service great. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and suggested tremendously delicious food! Very satisfied and full as a tick when we left. Definitely recommend this place for date night!
