    Crowded House swag-Souvenirs and remembrances

You really need to head to Madisonville, KY, oand experience the best of small town life. Friends, do yourself a huge favor and go to The Crowded House !!! Chris and Kelly Nix Devoto and their staff will make you feel instantly at home with house-made, elevated gastro pub delights that you'll remember forever! There's live music on weekends, service with wit aaannnd wisdom, and the atmosphere says "come sit a spell" . It often seems that the food world has only two speeds: change for change sake, or, if it ain't broke don't fix it. The Crowded House strikes a near impossible balance between tradition and innovation. Jalepeno poppers in an amazing sauce, fresk, crisp salads, amaxing burgers, and unique and tasty chicken entrees. Food that is familiar, but with just enough of a twist to insure you'll never be bored. We can't wait to go back!!

I have recently been exploring Madisonville lately and one of the most highly rated places is The Crowded House. The restaurant is in an old building but it has a bar area, a dining area, and a stage area for music. My fiancé, stepson, and I started off with the hot pimento cheese dip. The dip was delicious but the chips is what I loved the most about the dip. I'm not much of a chip guy but these chips were made from a kettle. For my entree, I went with the COVID-57 burger. I wish the patty was more meaty but it was all right. It was an Angus beef burger. The burger came with 57, fried pickles, and brie cheese. It was suppose to also have red onion but they forgot it. Pretty good burger overall! Fries were hand-cut. My fiancé had the fish tacos and she enjoyed them. But the sweet potato fries she had were even better as they were crispy. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet. The menu has burgers, steaks, and chicken. If you are craving one of those, give The Crowded House a try.

Wow, this place is awesome! We were on the road for days and sorry to say but had nothing tasty until we got here. I'm vegetarian and my husband is a carnivore. There was plenty for both of us. Very much enjoyed the tempura mushroom dish and the roasted vegetable salad. He had the catfish with hush puppies and said it was great. Way to go guys - you're killing it!

Awesome spot in rural Kentucky. Here on business (from NYC) and met up with a few coworkers for a solid meal. This place is very hip and has similar vibes to spots in Brooklyn or Hoboken. Great craft beer selection. Great small bites. Friendly service.

Traveling thru and found on Yelp. Choose inside seating as it was cool outside. Fried pickles. how can you go wrong? Server recommended good beer. As I was sipping, noticed wall of 4 blackboards of whiskey choices. Asked server to have bartender recommend one under 10. Brought out the bottle and showed me like a bottle of wine. how did I want? One cube. Yum. I had the COVID-57 burger with Heinz 57 sauce. Perfectly done and tasty. Wife had the patty melt on a nice rye bread with homemade chips, she enjoyed very much. we were on early on a weekday so service was good. Server was helpful and fun. Food was great. Would def go back.

Went here with a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday. Staff very friendly, welcoming. Cool small town gastropub vibe. Waitress was very attentive. Kept our drinks refilled. I ordered the Glazed Salmon Salad. We also ordered the app sampler with fried pickles, pimento cheese dip and mushrooms. 5 stars just for the apps! They have an extensive assortment of beers and cocktails for those who enjoy those. Definitely will be eating here more often.

The Bang Bang Shrimp was amazing. You really need to consider making it an entree with steamed rice and a veggie.

Burger King - Grace at the Drive-Thru Chelsa Drive,…read moreMadisonville, KY Every time I visit this Burger King, I'm greeted with "Drive forward, Ms. Martha "--a simple phrase that carries warmth and familiarity. The staff knows my order, and they know me. That kind of connection is rare in fast food, and it's worth celebrating. Nikki, who became manager last year or so, brings a lifetime of experience and a heart for service. She listens, leads, and often works the drive-thru herself with the same kindness and attentiveness that define her team. Nick, always steady and thoughtful, contributes that same calm spirit--working hard and treating customers with quiet kindness. The food is consistently hot and fresh, the restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere feels more like a neighbor's kitchen than a corporate chain. On a recent visit, I was glad to see Nate had returned after being away for about a month or so. His calm spirit and steady presence at the drive-thru bring a sense of ease, especially during the busiest moments. Even when the line grows long, Nate moves with quiet confidence--and somehow, the wait feels shorter. It's a testament to the kind of presence that can make a fast-food stop feel like a sanctuary. I've seen negative comments online, but I believe in grace. As Ephesians 4:32 reminds us: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." We never know what someone's carrying that day. So instead of tearing down, let's build up. If there's an issue, speak kindly and directly. Words matter--especially the ones we choose to share publicly. What we say online can ripple far beyond the screen--into kitchens, cars, and quiet hearts. If we can offer warmth in person, we can do the same with our words. Fast food might be quick, but grace is never rushed. Porch Light Reflection: Sometimes the brightest lights aren't on porches--they're in drive-thru windows, held by people who remember your name and serve with a smile. Let's be the kind of light that reflects grace, even in the small moments. Thank you, Burger King team, for being a steady flame in Madisonville. You matter. Warmly, Martha Grace in Action Ministry
