This spot came highly recommended to me by locals as the go-to breakfast place. The oatmilk latte was good and very foamy, no complaints there. I got the southwest omelette for breakfast that I thought was so-so, nothing to write home about. It's a bit pricy for just breakfast food but so is everything else around downtown Asheville. A decent spot to go if you need breakfast and they have a pretty extensive menu so maybe other dishes are better.

Seth is the man! They were short staffed today but he, the cashier lady, and chef held it down. Very stressful situation but they handled it with grace. Great job guys!

Fantastic breakfast once again! Have eaten here for over 12 years when I visit! Today we really enjoyed the banana nut bread, lemon blueberry muffin and the egg sandwich! Great iced espresso with oat milk! Love the space! Great music Clean bathrooms Service was fantastic! Thank you! Congratulations 5 Yeehaw

The Green Sage Cafe is conveniently located in the middle of Downtown, and it's a nice place to grab a bite and hang out with wifi. I went twice this week while in town, and they just expanded their menu again after the hurricane with some great vegetarian options, like bowls and salads. When I first came here, I tried the TLT Tempeh wrap, and wow was it great! The marinade they use on the tempeh is really good and full of flavor. Also, I never go for a slaw, but this is the best slaw I have ever had. I love the ginger flavor! It's so great seeing a place get creative with their veggie offerings! The second time I came, I just had one of the iced teas - the elderflower hibiscus - which was very good. I appreciate they don't mix in the sweetener or any syrups unless you request it. I also had the chocolate walnut cookie, which was amazing. Service was also friendly :) I will definitely be coming here again soon!

My husband and I are always looking for plant-based restaurants to support. Green Sage Cafe did not disappoint. Wr enjoyed a Vegan breakfast that's whole food plant-based and filling. Great vibe. Awesome tofu scramble.

Huckleberry bowl. Heaven. Refreshing and light. Tastes as good as it looks!

Yuuummmm, just my kind'a place! I saw this while searching for places with breakfast bowls and came the morning before my flight out of town back home after a girl's weekend. I was staying nearby and was easily able to walk - otherwise it's going to be street parking or pay for a local garage. I arrived just a few minutes after they opened and ordered a coconut milk iced latte and a Huckleberry Bowl to dine in. The latte was out quickly and the coffee had a wonderful flavor to it. Super good. Didn't need to add anything else, just enjoyed it plain. My bowl - SO good. So pretty (see pic) but also the coconut chia pudding was a nice texture, not slimy, and slightly sweet. The granola was crispy and delicious and paired very well with the pudding and the blueberries which were also slightly sweet and seemed to have been soaked in something to make them more moist. I added a bit of local honey and it was heaven! If I'm ever in Asheville again - I'm going to hunt this spot down! Super friendly staff inside - great food options for everyone - and plenty of seating inside their cafe. I love that they have burritos, eggs, bowls, smoothies, coffee, lunch sandwiches, you name it. Literally something for anyone at any time of the day. Win!

What a great way to start the day! The everything avocado toast is delicious! I added an over easy egg and sheep's milk feta. LOOK HOW MUCH FETA I GOT!!!! A few dashes of hot sauce and you are looking at breakfast perfection! The cold brew is great. And I ALWAYS appreciate simple syrup to sweeten. Being a CA kid I forgot that the South's sweet tea addiction allows me access to simple syrup for my cold brew. Pumpkin muffin smelled amazing when I got it and the taste was wonderful! Great breakfast spot in Asheville!

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. It is located in Dingle Creek Strip mall in Asheville. Vegan restaurant, but they do have some other options on the menu. Reuben Tempeh was delicious. Crispy tempeh with lots of flavor, just the right amount of sauce on a toasted bun. Side salad with tahini dressing. Falafel Sandwich was absolutely amazing. Toasted Ciabatta fresh roll. Fresh crisp veggies and crispy falafel that is not dry was nice. Nice, clean restaurant with super nice staff. Definitely will go back.

    Zen bowl - delicious!!

When I first moved to a Asheville, I loved green sage. Like many things, the prices have risen and it's become a little bit touristy. I appreciate that they remain true to their natural and healthy foundation, and they tend to source a good amount locally. I ordered a BLT with chips. You can upgrade the size for a dollar but nothing really seem that appealing to me. I'm pretty picky about my fries and I was saving this for later so the other sides didn't make sense. The bacon was incredibly chewy and thick and tough. I like that it was local, but it was incredibly difficult and kind of uncomfortable to eat. For a BLT, there was no lettuce. Maybe I read it wrong? The sweet potato chips were actually quite delightful. Especially the ones that had a little bit of chewiness mixed with a crunch. I feel like the portion was nice as well. I veered from my normal path to get a rap, but I think in the future I will just stick with my salad self. I also could have been happier if I just gotten a farm burger homemade veggie patty because that means you around $10 or less wow this wrap cost me 15 with tip. Yow. Inside was really nice and bustling. The counter service was incredibly kind. It did take quite a long time for the simple wrap to come out but I think they may have had a few people waiting on orders.

The signature gravy was heavenly! We scooped it up with our forks when we ran out of biscuit. The coffee is excellent and we all enjoyed the fresh squeezed juice. I found Chestnut on Yelp and decided to wander in. The space has this elevated modern rustic vibe with a southern twist and a little bit of sass. They even sell shirts that say neither hoity nor toity, which cracked me up. Honestly, the atmosphere was great, but our waitress was the real star. She was absolutely phenomenal and looked after us perfectly. My palate was pretty fried, so I started with a Bloody Mary to wake up. Truth be told, it was just okay. The house mix had an odd flavor that nobody at the table could quite identify, and it seriously lacked spice. It was just kinda bland. I noticed a bottle of Firewalker hot sauce on the table, and splashing that in helped a little bit. After that, I transitioned to a mimosa. You really cannot mess up a mimosa too much, and it was a solid, reliable second drink. For the main event, I ordered the southern chicken and waffles. This came with a fried chicken breast sitting on golden malted waffles, smothered in sausage gravy, and drizzled with chipotle honey. It was a really great dish. The kitchen did a solid job with the fry on the chicken, and the gravy had a nice flavor. It leaned a little on the sweet side because of the honey, but it was not totally overdone. The real sleeper hit of the morning, though, was the side of cheesy grits. Those grits were absolute heaven. They were incredibly creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you go, you have to order them. Chestnut is in a great location, and despite the weak Bloody Mary, it was a stellar visit.
