All Day Darling is a 2025 Michelin-recognized spot, and what a surprise and cute name!!! While exploring near Grove Arcade, I searched Yelp for a local brunch place and found this gem. Like many cafés in Asheville, it's a self-bussing establishment, so guests return their own dishes after eating. The cafe is charming, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were warm, welcoming, and food was very good. We ordered drinks which was okay...next time I'll opt for water. Luckily, the Buddha Bowl and the breakfast sandwich served on a perfectly baked biscuit, and both were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I even bought their after-meal herbal tonic a try--not sure if it worked, but like to try it to give my stomach more energy and room to eat!!! read more

Stopped in for brunch. I got the Reuben and my husband got the GF pancakes. The food was out quick and thankfully they were not too busy when we arrived. I loved the open air concept of this place. My food was delicious, however, my sister's partner ordered the same and his sandwich was much smaller than mine - definitely not consistent there. My husband liked the GF pancakes (he doesn't have a sensitivity, he just likes pancakes and they only serve GF). He was not a huge fan of the added cinnamon. Little bit of a line but it went fast. It was also a chilly morning so it was very busy inside. The staff ask that you don't grab tables until you have ordered, so the tables turned over fast enough and most groups seemed to easily get a table. The woman at the register was a rockstar. Stopped by All Day Darling for breakfast and tried the chicken and biscuit along with the standard biscuit. The chicken and biscuit was really flavorful and satisfying overall. The biscuit was thick and hearty, though at times it was a little dense and hard to swallow. That said, it was still delicious and clearly made with care. I just wish it came with a bit more of the aioli sauce because that really tied everything together. The standard biscuit was a perfect morning meal. I searched for trendy veg-friendly breakfast spot, and All Day Darling delivered. I have never seen shakshuka on a breakfast menu, yet here it was. I could not help but order it. It was delicious. Rich, mildly spicy tomato sauce with feta, two poached eggs, and perfectly air-fried (my guess) kale. It came with a side of pita as is customary. My husband ordered the patatas bravas - a hearty serving of quartered air fried potatoes with a drizzle of mildly spicy sauce; he added two poached eggs. He enjoyed it. He also ordered the banana bread - it was moist and flavorful. I only managed to get one bite. Hubby was boring and went for drip coffee, but I threw caution to the wind and ordered a golden mocha: espresso, chocolate, ginger, turmeric and oat milk. This was an interesting and rich coffee choice. I'd order it again. I'll be honest - this place was pricey, but it was also worth it. We paid $42 and left stuffed. The inside is fun (converted garage?), the folks are friendly, and they allow dogs at 5 dog-friendly outdoor tables. Another local gem I just kept meaning to get around to and finally *got* to! The patatas bravas is so good, so well seasoned, and so filling! Would need to get it to share next time haha. Would recommend getting the poached eggs with it--adds a lot to the flavor. The chai was amaaaazing. I love me my chais lol. The lady taking orders behind the counter was sweet, she had recommendations and was easy to laugh with. In need of a breakfast spot that was actually open on Sundays, All Day Darling proved a fortuitous find. The bustling, light-filled environment and focus on Southern-influenced dishes reminded me of a superior version of the old Iron Hen in Greensboro. Though All Day Darling does keep busy, its line to the register (place your order, grab a number - they are friendly and efficient here) moves quickly, and there is plenty of seating. While I was tempted to order shakshuka, travel with something that heavy on my stomach seamed unwise, so I opted for The Standard (breakfast sandwich with a fried egg and herb mayo) with ham on a roll instead and paired it with a Golden Mocha (chocolate, turmeric, ginger, cardamon). My wife went with a Standard with avocado on a biscuit, and we split a piece of banana bread. All of the food cleared expectations. The breads and biscuits live up to their homemade billing. The creamy herb mayo was the perfect complement to the salty ham. The banana bread was as good as any I have ever made. Despite its bevy of components, the Golden Mocha was well-balanced and went down easy. All Day Darling is the kind of place where it would seem hard to go wrong. The food was absolutely delicious, my partner and I shared the Shakshuka and patatas bravas. The potatoes were crispy and the sauce was delicious. I was visiting Asheville on a few days r&r. An artist from the River Arts District recommended this place so I decided to give it a go. The food was decent & the service was fine, both get 5 & 4 stars but the vibe was one of entitlement. A guy a few tables over (we were outside on the front right padio) was on his elongated & overly loud phonecall all the way up to my meal & beyond & 2 ladies at a nearby table were quite loud . The servers did nothing to quiet them so I just ate in peace & left. It was an okay experience but I won't be back. If you're blue, this place is for you but if you're red, then don't waste your bread! I'm neither, I'm an anarchist that hates political vibe restaurants, sorry! I absolutely loved this neighborhood gem when I was in Asheville. The vibe is casual and welcoming - almost a Cheers environment for yummy, delicious food. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas. You stand in line to place your order at the counter and then your beverage is served at the counter (they call your name) and your food is brought to your table (based on your order number you place when you choose your seat). The hot beverage sleeves featured drawings from children, which was a fun little conversation piece. The food itself was clearly made with love. I was fueling up for a short morning walk before heading to the airport. The muffin was HUGE and the yogurt, granola and fruit was one of the best I've had anywhere (and I am a huge yogurt, granola and fruit person for breakfast). The hot food others ordered also was droolworthy. I know Asheville itself is a vibe, but All Day Darling is a vibe within that vibe that I would say is not to be missed. I don't know what's going on in that kitchen but it must be magic. I had the best, and I don't say that lightly, I mean BEST sandwich i've EVER had in my entire life. The chicken salad melt on GLUTEN FREE HOMEMADE SOURDOUGH literally stopped me mid-bite so I could call my fiancé and tell him that i'd died and gone to heaven. It's rich and buttery, yet refreshing, and bursting with flavor. The dill and red onion are the perfect balance. I am in awe. I've never felt compelled to call a restaurant (I got it to-go) and tell them about my experience but the spirit of God moved through my tastebuds and entranced me to pick up the phone. It felt criminal not to let them know! I am in town for work, and I will be coming here every. time. I. am. here. It could have used some more harissa and the chicken was bland. The fry on the chicken however was perfect. Crispy, crunchy and not dried out. Now the winners of this meal was the avocado toast and the yumyum drink! 10/10 for both! The avocado toast was so good, the portion was just right and the dressed greens balanced it out. He went back in line to ask for a refund because we had places to be, but because he paid in cash they refused a refund and said they would make it "right away". He waited an additional 15 minutes and they still did not make it. We ended up just leaving because clearly this establishment has no care for people's time. A coffee should not take over an hour to be made, especially after alerting them how long you have waited. Waste of seven dollars. All Day Darling. All day long! The best gluten free bread I've had since going gluten free! The only regret is that I did not find this place sooner. This is my favorite kind of menu and my favorite kind of place. Well worth it if you find this place pricy. Everything is pricy. You get what you pay for. Fresh Tasting and made to perfection. Very friendly service. I wanted everything when I got there and had to narrow down my choice. I got the fresh sliced bacon BLT with fresh tomato's and a sauce they made. It was great! There's an unexpectedly large number of outdoor tables, so even though there was a very large (and stylishly dressed!) Sunday crowd, the wait wasn't long and was accurately estimated by the efficient hostess. We spent a happy 20 minutes loitering at the incredibly well-stocked wine store up a flight of the Instagram-ready steps and a few doors down, which we'd recommend to while away the time. A lanky gentlemen there directed us to some inexpensive but excellent wines. The waiter who served us at brunch responded enthusiastically to questions and a request to help me choose between dishes.
