Bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll
    Meesh G.

Love the atmosphere, love the coffee, love the food, love the service. Just a great place to walk to and grab a delicious cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich. I enjoy a solo trip, but it's still good with a group of friends, too . It's got a nice and relaxing vibe. When it comes to the coffee, it's nice and earthy. The bacon, egg, and cheese was amazing - bacon had the right amount of crisp, egg was runny, and the roll was nice and soft.

This place couldn't be more Asheville. It's a funky, southern eatery, kind of in the middle of a neighborhood. The line of people going in shows how great their food is. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, & their take on it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. The bread was beyond excellent. The pastrami was almost like a mild bacon. Their sauerkraut was reddened by beets perhaps, or maybe mild horseradish. And the sauces spread on the inside took the sandwich over the top. I also had an iced orange latte. What a perfect pairing!

Little bit of a line but it went fast. It was also a chilly morning so it was very busy inside. The staff ask that you don't grab tables until you have ordered, so the tables turned over fast enough and most groups seemed to easily get a table. The woman at the register was a rockstar. So friendly and calm even with the long line. Food was really good! The cherry almond latte was on special and awesome!

    The standard and chicken biscuit

Stopped by All Day Darling for breakfast and tried the chicken and biscuit along with the standard biscuit. The chicken and biscuit was really flavorful and satisfying overall. The biscuit was thick and hearty, though at times it was a little dense and hard to swallow. That said, it was still delicious and clearly made with care. I just wish it came with a bit more of the aioli sauce because that really tied everything together. The standard biscuit was a perfect morning meal. Simple, comforting, and exactly what you want to start the day. Definitely a solid breakfast stop in Asheville.

What a cool place. The service is so friendly, the way you order at the register is damn brilliant. My son had the all day breakfast and I had the potato's with poached eggs. Whatever they season those potatoes with and the sauce on top. Out of this world. And their bloody Mary mix has to be homemade because it's also phenomenal. Next time we're in Asheville we're definitely swinging by again.

    Shakshuka

I searched for trendy veg-friendly breakfast spot, and All Day Darling delivered. I have never seen shakshuka on a breakfast menu, yet here it was. I could not help but order it. It was delicious. Rich, mildly spicy tomato sauce with feta, two poached eggs, and perfectly air-fried (my guess) kale. It came with a side of pita as is customary. My husband ordered the patatas bravas - a hearty serving of quartered air fried potatoes with a drizzle of mildly spicy sauce; he added two poached eggs. He enjoyed it. He also ordered the banana bread - it was moist and flavorful. I only managed to get one bite. Hubby was boring and went for drip coffee, but I threw caution to the wind and ordered a golden mocha: espresso, chocolate, ginger, turmeric and oat milk. This was an interesting and rich coffee choice. I'd order it again. I'll be honest - this place was pricey, but it was also worth it. We paid $42 and left stuffed. The inside is fun (converted garage?), the folks are friendly, and they allow dogs at 5 dog-friendly outdoor tables. It was too wet for us, so we left Jack Jack tucked in the van and enjoyed our breakfast indoors.

High five chai tea latte, patatas bravas with poached eggs

Another local gem I just kept meaning to get around to and finally *got* to! The patatas bravas is so good, so well seasoned, and so filling! Would need to get it to share next time haha. Would recommend getting the poached eggs with it--adds a lot to the flavor. The chai was amaaaazing. I love me my chais lol. The lady taking orders behind the counter was sweet, she had recommendations and was easy to laugh with. Seating was a bit cramped inside but there are options outside which was nice when moving about with a stroller. Parking is street, but there was plenty of it to be had just a ways down. Happy i got to go!

We walked to this colorful restaurant. Very open air and lots of seating. Ordering is at a counter- not a good or bad experience with this person. They weren't talkative, but that's okay! Food came out fast and was very good. I was full for hours after my breakfast bowl. Not sure what we tipped for because we order and bus our own table, but delicious food.

Stopped in since it was close to where I was staying. It's also not too far from downtown. You seat yourself and it can be a bit tricky to find a table though they also have outside tables (it was cold and had rained so all the furniture was wet outside). The food overall was decent. The breakfast biscuit was good but the chicken sandwich was a little bland. The banana bread was sweet and the miel latte was a delicious hot treat while walking back in the cold weather. I did also get the potatoes at the recommendation of the staff but honestly, it was too salty for me. I was not a fan of the flavor either.

    Cappuccino

Perfect spot for a coffee with breakfast/brunch. We each got a breakfast sandwich, he ordered a regular coffee and a green match while I ordered the cappuccino. All were delicious! The outside seating was delightful. We would certainly come here again when visiting the area.

We stopped by All Day Darling in Asheville for breakfast and it was love at first bite. We'd heard it was Michelin mentioned, so expectations were already pretty high and it absolutely delivered. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and had what can only be described as a minor out-of-body experience with that biscuit. I'm honestly not sure if it qualifies as a biscuit or just a lightly structured butter delivery system, but either way it was melt-in-your-mouth incredible. Everything tasted fresh, rich, and thoughtfully executed... the kind of breakfast that makes you immediately start planning your next visit. If you're in Asheville and looking for something exceptional to start your day, make sure this place is on your list.

    Patatas Brava +poached eggs +baccon

We originally stopped in Saturday morning for coffee but it was super busy and also Valentine's Day so we decided to go somewhere else for coffee. The food smelled amazing so we made plans to come back Monday morning while everyone was at work or school. I had the Patatas Brava with added poached eggs and bacon. If you like savory breakfasts, this is a no brainer choice! The potatoes were well seasoned, it comes with a creamy aioli and a pop of freshness from the green onions. My eggs were poached to perfection, the bacon was nice and crispy. My husband had the avocado toast and lentil frittatas (which were basically falafel) both he really liked and thankful he had vegetarian options. We both had specialty lattes they had on the daily board. Well enjoyed our breakfast!

The Standard with avocado on a biscuit
    Zac G.

In need of a breakfast spot that was actually open on Sundays, All Day Darling proved a fortuitous find. The bustling, light-filled environment and focus on Southern-influenced dishes reminded me of a superior version of the old Iron Hen in Greensboro. Though All Day Darling does keep busy, its line to the register (place your order, grab a number - they are friendly and efficient here) moves quickly, and there is plenty of seating. While I was tempted to order shakshuka, travel with something that heavy on my stomach seamed unwise, so I opted for The Standard (breakfast sandwich with a fried egg and herb mayo) with ham on a roll instead and paired it with a Golden Mocha (chocolate, turmeric, ginger, cardamon). My wife went with a Standard with avocado on a biscuit, and we split a piece of banana bread. All of the food cleared expectations. The breads and biscuits live up to their homemade billing. The creamy herb mayo was the perfect complement to the salty ham. The banana bread was as good as any I have ever made. Despite its bevy of components, the Golden Mocha was well-balanced and went down easy. All Day Darling is the kind of place where it would seem hard to go wrong. The next time we're in Asheville, we'll be back.

The decor gives you that classic down-home Southern feel, and they even have an area set up for live music. The band was getting ready as we were finishing dinner, so we didn't get to hear them play, but it definitely looked like a fun place to hang out, eat, and listen to some music. The nachos were SO good! They were loaded, full of flavor, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. We also got the BBQ spread so we could try a little bit of everything. The brisket, smoked wings, and pulled pork were all delicious. The meat was definitely the highlight! The collards were probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. I could've easily eaten a whole bowl of them and been perfectly happy! The baked beans had a pretty strong beer flavor, so those weren't really my thing. The potato salad could've used a little more seasoning too, but overall, there was plenty of food and everything had that comforting, casual down-home feel. I also tried the fresh lemonade, and it was really good...bright, refreshing, and definitely tasted fresh. It was $5 a glass, which is a little pricey for lemonade, but I still enjoyed it and thought it was a nice addition to the meal. And only had one glass. Thanks to the waiter for letting me know as I wanted a refill! Overall, Daddy Mac's was a great experience! Between the amazing nachos, flavorful meats, incredible collards, fun decor, and live music setup, it feels like the kind of place where you could easily spend a few hours eating, relaxing, and enjoying the atmosphere. I'd definitely go back, especially when there's a band playing!

Mama Mac (BBQterie board)- Brisket was cooked perfectly, but did not have much flavor or seasoning. Pulled pork was my favorite of what we had- that was seasoned wonderfully and cooked perfect. The wings (dry rubbed and smoked) were yum. Collards were good. Baked beans were good but super sweet. Cole slaw was nothing special. Pickles were super sweet as well. The BBQ sauces were great we tried all 3. Our favorite was the cheerwine one. They were out of 2 appetizers and potato salad which was supposed to come with the barbequterie board, so they let us choose what to sub it with. We picked cowboy caviar which ended up being okay, not much flavor there. The salad in a jar was good, you dump it into a bowl yourself. The jar was great because everything on the salad was portioned perfectly! Loved the chicken in the salad too. Only waited a few minutes for a table at 2:30p on a Sunday holiday weekend. There is an attached free parking lot and we were able to get a spot, but when we left there were no spots left and someone was waiting for our spot. There is street parking as well.

Our evening started with complimentary champagne....booked in advance and told the staff we were in town celebrating and they took great care of us. We skipped the apps, but were impressed that they offer smaller plates, along with their entrees. My wife ordered the 4 Oz filet, which was so tender that it didn't require a steak knife to cut it. Her butter knife was sufficient enough. Honestly, her fork would've been enough. You can tell they have good beef quality....the filet was very tasty. Was served with a sauce and whipped potatoes, along with fresh green beans. I ordered their scallops and polenta dish. Honestly, I think the garnish was a bit over the top.....however, their scallops were delicious and tender. I normally like a good sear but can appreciate how they prepared theirs. The seasoning was flavorful and their sauce with the garnish went well with it. The only mark I can make had to do with the polenta. It was quite tasty, but the consistency didn't match the description of the dish. Regardless, it paired very well with the scallops. Ended the night with complimentary dessert, which was their blackberry peach crumble with ice cream, which was delicious. One of the best desserts we've had in some time. Our waiter James was fantastic. He was great in describing dishes, and was timely with the service and making sure our drinks were taken care of. The manager on duty, Brooke, was wonderful as well and even extended well wishes on our celebration. All in all, their staff did a great job. You can also tell that the other tables got similar service as well. We had all intentions on coming back and checking out their brunch, which was highly recommended, but ended up doing something else the following day. This is a solid option for date night dining. Very intimate setting downtown. Parking is ridiculous to try and get close by, especially on a Friday night, but theres a parking deck under a mile away from the front door. This is another Asheville spot we'll have in the rotation. Very impressed and can't wait to try other options there in the future.
