Went on a Sunday around 1pm and it wasn't so busy. The son who was behind the counter took after his Dad's business and they made it through the pandemic. So kudos just for that. I love the modern renovation. There is a sitting nook that could maybe fit two groups of four. While we were there the takeout orders were coming out swiftly despite made on the spot. Korean style dishes that are vegan, filling, and so very flavorful! The price is about the norm for a quality lunch in midtown. Plenty of cold and hot drinks to choose from! Lots of really tasty-looking vegetarian options! I went with the Yummy Vegetarian Wrap and I'm pleased to say that it was, in fact, yummy! However, it kind of fell apart as I was eating it - the wrap wasn't strong enough to hold the contents without ripping apart. Would definitely still order again, though! Just giving a heads up that it might be a bit of a messy eating experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful! They gave recommendations, which I always love hearing. Tip: they have MINIMAL seating here! So if you show up during lunch hour, plan to take your meal to-go. They can probably seat a maximum of 12 people in their seating area. read more

I got a scoop of Genmaicha gelato, and it was the best flavor of gelato I've ever had. The flavor tasted just like the tea, and the flavor had the perfect level of sweetness. The gelato had the perfect creamy texture and didn't melt too quickly. The staff member kindly allowed me to sample a few flavors before I ordered. On a weekday night, it was quiet and I was able to peacefully sit down at one of the many tables to enjoy my gelato. read more

I used to come here years ago, when it was the only healthy spot in the theatre district to eat before seeing a show. So happy it reopened, as their juices are so well priced ($8!) and so stinkin delicious! Also like their buffet-style salad bar, where you can get a big bowl of their salmon, their kale salad, mushrooms, guacamole and more. I was craving for a healthy bowl/salad and this place really topped of having fresh food ready to go and everything looked vibrant. If you need to stay away from carbs and gluten, you got yourself a good meal. When you walk in there is a menu for you to make your own bowl or you can get premade bowls, the workers know what you need so ask away. Holy tofu this place is good! My coworker and I found this place on a whim while searching Google for something I could eat. Being WFPB -SOS (whole Food plant-based, sugar-free, oil-free, and salt-free) it can be challenging but, oh, so worth it. Anyways, we find this place on our quest and realized it was close to the hotel so we figured we would give it a try and we are so glad we did. I got the kale salad and lentil soup, both were very good. I'm sure there is salt added to the soul but it was still good and full of lentils. The kale salad was topped with perfectly ripe avocado and juicy tomatoes. Paul (the young man who works there) recommended the sesame ginger dressing saying it was the most popular. I can see why, it was delicious. The kind Lady (I'm so sorry I did not get her name) asked if my co-worker and I were interested in trying their sorbet. We tried both the Korean Pear and Red Dragon Fruit, they were very good, an excellent vegan option. My coworker is not vegan nor vegetarian but is always willing to support my diet so he was game to try the place. They do have meat options so he was pleasantly surprised that he was able to try dishes that more along his diet preferences. It is very appreciated that there is a place like this who offers multiple options for different diets. As a WFPB person it helps for business trips. We were both so impressed we went back the next day to see what changed on the menu and try different things, again everything was excellent. The roasted Sweet potatoes were fantastic, an absolute delight. I paired it with their gochujang sauce for a sweet and spicy meal and it was absolutely perfect. This place is certainly on my must-return-to list. The family were so very nice and remembered us and our names which just made it even more special. This is mostly a takeout place but there's a small seating area across from the counter. A very interesting selection of entrees, both meat and veggie. Turkey meatballs were somewhat underwhelming but the orange spicy pasta-like strands made up for it. Reasonable prices, especially for the location. All counter-service. There was a selection of hot dishes behind the counter that it looked like customers could pick and choose to make a meal. There was also a refrigerated section with to-go chicken salad, bottled drinks and the like. However, I opted for a gluten-free wrap and hot drink, which were good. The person behind the counter was nice and friendly to me and other customers. The seating area is secluded behind a wall so you can't see much of the street or the front door, but it has a fun paint job and the benches were warm on a cold day! This healthy little store is back and revamped from the pandemic. The buffet is now not self serve and includes one entree and choice of sides. I had Turkey meatballs with roasted vegetables, and charred cauliflower among other things. There are only a few seats now and even though the area is a bit gritty it's one of the few healthy spots in midtown with vegan and vegetarian options without serving "faux meats". Staff is great. Green Symphony is so good it plays a melody in my stomach. It's a small vegan friendly health food restaurant and store. Very convenient from the Broadway area. It has a small buffet. There's also freshly made smoothies. I had the Pure Creamy Green smoothie. It's about $8 for a smoothie, but it's not the junk from Smoothie King. This was very filling, not tasting so overly sweet. A lot of good cookies at the counter. I had the vegan chocolate chip, and a vegan pecan bar, both excellent. A much healthier option than any of those chains along Broadway. It's only a few blocks. Great healthy lunch spot in a desolate office neighborhood, with so many vegan options and humane prices. The mandoo bowls are nice, though I wish they sold the dumplings separately because they are very good and I'd like a side of them with many things. The fakin' BLT (vegan) is amazing and has all of the qualities you probably miss about real BLTs. Even though it doesn't list mayo as an ingredient on the menu, it does come with the perfect amount of vegan mayo. Even the multigrain toast with [vegan] butter hits the spot. So I am stopping by to grab a smoothie for lunch because I ate my lunch for breakfast working out has certainly caused my hunger to increase. I work in the area and want a healthy option this place was recommended by a coworker. I walk in, get to the counter and was not acknowledged...meh, it's Times Sq shop owners can afford to be a bit ruder around these parts. I shrug that off and look at the menu. I start looking and FaceTime another coworker to verify her order she decides to forgo ordering because she's not sure what she got last time. I ask about the types of vegan protein they have and it appears they have two flavors (I pointed that out to him). Only one cup size is served here I can see how that helps with their one price within each category flow. I ask for the vegan protein in my beverage the up charge posted for protein is $1 he charged me $2. It's strange I raise the concern and he states because it's vegan it's more because it's better for you. I don't see this posted nor is there a different price for their drinks that state whey or vegan protein. All the same price, hmmmm. I pay because I'm pressed for time and came out of the way. Ugh! Just discovered this place from yelp. Kind of hidden but super cute inside! Lots of yummy looking food options. I really wanted a dessert and was almost going to get the banana chocolate cake but the "sugar free" sign on the peanut butter oat cookie made me feel like I was getting a guilt free cookie. $3.50, and it's huge. Definitely a little dry, but that's what you get with all oat based cookies in my opinion. My friend got a large lunch for ~$11 from the hot bar. I recommend! Edit: tried the chocolate banana cake. Little spot on the side of 43rd street, but so glad I stumbled upon it. I wanted a smoothie, and had stopped in Europan Cafe on 8th around the corner, but didn't feel like paying $8.50 for a smoothie mixed with orange juice. So I walked around the corner and ended up seeing this place offered non-dairy smoothies for $5.25 each. For just under $12, I was able to get two smoothies, one Rain Forest and one Tropical Treat. It's so refreshing to find a place with affordable quick food options near port authority and Times Square. I got the shrimp and broccoli dumplings, they cost me under 9$ with tax they were ready in 4 minutes. They weren't oily or over salted they were fresh and delicious. I felt like I was living in a world of gray when I ate my order. Where did the flavor go? Just because the food is vegan doesn't mean pizzazz should be discarded. I ordered the vegan protein salad and acai blueberry bar. The salad was good--hearty portions and interesting mix of textures. Flavors were overall lacking, though. I liked the somewhat crispy smoky-flavored "bacon" made from tempeh, the curried chickpeas, and the sautéed mushrooms (wish there were more of them). Lots of peas and tofu (which were somewhat bland). Also wish there were more romaine salad greens as opposed to quinoa, which just filled one up. The acai blueberry bar was very dense. While I often appreciate desserts that aren't too sweet so that you can enjoy natural flavors, particularly with fruit, this bar again lacked brightness. It's about time I write a review for my favorite healthy lunch spot in Midtown. I stumbled upon Green Symphony last spring and it was love at first sight/taste. Now, over a year later, I'm a faithful Yelp user and must sing the praises of this diamond in the rough. ...and when I say rough, I'm not exaggerating. This unassuming spot sits in the heart of Times Square, which I choose to call Hell on Earth (it's 15 degrees hotter than the rest of the city and it houses the worst kind of people and worst kind of establishments...I rest my case). But the downsides to Green Symphony end there. This place is a perfect example of yet another overused idiom - good (GREAT) things come in small packages. Green Symphony is quite a tiny place, but the vast amount of health food options they offer is overwhelming in the best kind of way. What can you get here? Anything you could ever want. They have a well-stocked buffet that's divided into a hot section and a cold section. As one would expect, the hot section is filled with different types of chicken preparations and other various meat dishes. On the cold side (the only one I can reliably speak to), you'll find a nice variety of salads - a few tofu preparations (tofu curry w/ chickpeas, Asian-style tofu w/ mushrooms and peas), edamame salad, broccoli, quinoa, kale salad w/ pumpkin seeds and flax seeds, etc. etc. That's the side I've always opted for (see my picture for a visual). The food is flavorful, fresh and healthy. Has yet to disappoint. If the buffet doesn't suit your needs on any particular day, they've got rice bowls, salads and plenty of other options. I can speak to the Kale Salad (kale, gluten-free tamari, sesame, oil, tomato, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, ginger) and the Chicken Vegetable Rice Bowl (vegetables and a mildly spicy sauce. Organic brown rice, free range chicken, spinach, bean sprouts, carrots, wild-root, shiitake mushrooms, chopped greens, kimchi and egg). Both are delicious and nutritious and bring a smile to my face. I think it's because all of my vital organs are smiling themselves when I eat this healthfully - for with these meals, they can bask in the ecstasy of knowing that their keeper cares about their lifespan. More notes: -They have smoothies/shakes aplenty. I have yet to try one, but they seem to be quite the popular item here -It DOES get busy but the line moves quickly - so just be a bit patient. It's not a big establishment, so it can seem more packed than it actually is -***PRICES!! *** I am starring this because you've probably started to nod off from this novel I've been writing...some of the MOST REASONABLY PRICED HEALTH FOOD I've found in the city. I'm in the godforsaken land of 'Time Square'. Hey, it happens sometimes and this time I was on my way to Hell's Kitchen for a function. Walking past the guy trying to sell comedy central tickets and ecstacy, I step into the small deli-oasis. A good amount of modest seating in the front, some standard packaged food and beverages up front in fridges. Then to the good stuff. A huuuuge cafe-style selection of meals and arrangements. Can't recall exactly what I grabbed (I'm a big food mixer) but everything had well developed flavor and character. Am I singing to myself again... did I just dance my way to the cash register and purchase some acai-magically baked good... Yes, yes you are I told myself Price was incredible. $12 for a large plant plate and dessert (was not super sweet at all, but had plenty of power plants in it!). Never got a chance to physically visit Green Symphony but this review is for the seamless order! Quick delivery and one of the healthier options to order from in the neighborhood. Food: Everything is vegan and very healthy! :) I ordered the Dalai Lama bowl because it appeared to be one of the more popular dishes on Seamless and my sweet tooth pushed me to get one of the snack bars too- I think it was the chocolate brownie but can't really remember, another popular item and I read pretty positive reviews about it. The bowl was pretty bland but with the help of soy sauce (ask for it on the side!) it was edible. The veggies were fresh and the dumplings were delicious. The sweet snack bar on the side however was SUPER dry and tasted terrible-- almost felt like I was eating cardboard. I ended up throwing it out after a bite. I did order at the end of the day so I wonder if that has anything to do with it since I believe all their desserts are baked fresh in house. Why did I only recently discover Green Symphony, after living in NYC for almost six years and when I used to be around the Theatre District ALL THE TIME?! And now that I'm not near the Theatre District quite as often, I find myself going out of my way to come here for yummy food! Not everything here is vegan or even vegetarian (many chicken and tuna items offered), but there ARE many vegan and/or gluten-free items at the food bar, usually more so at the cold food bar than the hot. My personal favorites are the kale salad, the tofu and mushroom salad, the curry tofu salad, and my absolute favorite is the roasted corn - the last of which is often either not offered or out by the time I get there. But SO GOOD! Fresh and carefully created to bring out the best flavors. There are also a good number of vegan desserts, many of which are wheat-free but not necessarily gluten-free as they use spelt flour or "regular" oats (as opposed to gluten-free oats), but there are usually one or two items that ARE gluten-free. I got the BMW bar which has organic brown rice and pinto bean flour, walnut, apple sauce, fresh apple, cinnamon, sea salt, baking soda and raisins. Maybe a little too much walnut for my taste (I feel like most of my bar was made out of walnuts, just barely held together with the other ingredients), but tasty nonetheless. I'd love to see more vegan AND gluten-free items offered, but I'm usually pretty happy with what I get here. I will have to try the smoothies sometime - those also sound really good! read more
