Thick and tasty smoothie (the one with passion fruit) although pretty basic for almost $15. Then again it is midtown so I guess that's what we've come to expect. The acai bowl was atrocious though. I got a Maui acai bowl or maybe it's called Aloha? Can't quite recall. The one with tropical fruits atop. I love acai bowls-- have eaten them for years and have worked with acai brands in the past. The base of this "acai" bowl didn't taste one bit like acai and the fruit on top was scarce and not ripe. Ever tried an unripe kiwi? Yeah, not pleasant. By taste and color alone I doubt they used acai in the base. And if they did, I would question the quality of their acai. For $15+ it's a tragedy. Stick to the smoothies. read more

I need to start off by saying that I'm not a juice drinker, however recently my colleagues started grabbing some refreshments from Juice Generation which piqued my interest. Some of us decided to step out for lunch the other day, and decided to make a pit stop here at the JG on 42nd. Needless to say, we decided to get some juice. This JG has a similar setup to the other spot they have slightly north of here (I forget the cross street). The menu contains a variety of juice blends, smoothies, açaí bowls, and other beverages with added health benefits (dubbed the Juice Pharmacy). Skimming the menu, the Watermelon Dragon stood out to me the most so I went with that. The blend was pretty simple, containing watermelon, dragonfruit, strawberries, blueberries, and lime. Very tasty and the perfect compliment to the nice weather outside. Service was fast and efficient - they have a good system in place to balance the walk-ins with the many online orders. Overall, I had a good experience at Juice Generation. Despite my reservations about juice in general, they serve creative concoctions and I would not be against returning to explore more of their menu. read more

Great smoothies! I work in the area from time to time. I usually don't eat breakfast but I needed something to eat before I could take an anti-inflammatory pill for my back and decided to see if I could get a smoothie so I could take my pill. Juice Generation was nearby and had a smoothie with ingredients close to what I normally get so I ordered one from there. My smoothie arrived quickly. I love the tamper-proof tape they use. You can't tear it if you wanted...my smoothie was in tact and it tasted great. I got the Peanut Butter Split with oat milk. I wished I could have customized it more to my liking on the app but you're limited. I'm sure if you order in person, you're able to make more adjustments. I would have loved adding some plant protein because that's how I usually make my own smoothies at home. Since I enjoyed my smoothie so much and I had a light day at work, I ordered two more to bring home for my kids. My son asked for the Watermelon Dragon and my daughter wanted the Smooth Strawberry. The orders again, arrived quickly and were neatly packaged. They kept well and traveled well. My son marveled at the tamper tape, loving the fact that he needed to use scissors to open the bag. Both of my kids thoroughly enjoyed their smoothies. My Little actually finished the whole thing. She loves smoothies but she never finishes a whole one at a time. We usually have to put it in the fridge which means she might never finish it but she nursed this one for a couple of hours and drank it all. I was impressed. I would order from them in the future. I hope they adjust their ordering process to allow for more customization of their signature smoothies, or at the very least, allow for you to be able to customize your own smoothie in a way that has all of the ingredients they have available in the app. I want the luxury of ordering online, the same as if I were ordering in person. read more

This was my first time at Juice Generation and I was def happy with my experience! The location is pretty spacious and clean, although there is very minimal seating. When I went around noon on a Monday there was no line. The employee who took my order was friendly and kindly answered my questions about the menu. I ordered PB & Joe smoothie which is peanut butter, milk, banana, cacao and a bit of coffee. This was soooo good and pretty filling, and the texture was great -- creamy and thick but also smooth. So thankful for a healthy option like this near grand central. My hotel was located two blocks from grand central and I was looking for a healthy smoothie place nearby. I placed an online order for the almond butter smoothie and the protein buzz. I added dates to both. My order was ready in 10 minutes and I was able to quickly go pick it up. They were in a bag and very secure so I didn't have to worry about them spilling during the commute. Both smoothies were delicious. They were filling, creamy, and so flavorful. OMG. Hands down one of the best acai bowls in the city. Seriously, their bowl with the dragon fruit is so friggin' delicious. That said, they're not all winners. The two staff members had their heads down & didn't greet/help me this morning. I had ordered via UberEats & walked to this location to pick it up. I've passed by this venue a few times in the past and was curious to go in. So I decided to try it out this morning and was pretty disappointed. I ordered their aloha acai bowl and go green juice. The juice was recommended by the cashier, taste was not bad but 20%of the cup was topped with 'foam'. The acai bowl, let me start numbering the cons....1) skimpiness on fruits 2) mangos raw and hard 3) acai mix melted in less than 30mins in 30-40° weather AND LOOKS LIKE CEMENT COLOR! Originally I was content with the bowl, but then...what happened!!??? (See before & after pictures) 4) wait time is ridiculously long Perhaps I've been spoiled by the venue called FRUTTA bowl - sizes of bowls are identical - but like the quality!!!!!!!!! ZOMG HUGE DIFFERENCE!! (And no I do not get sponsorship from them or get paid by them to say this) prices are merely a few cents apart, think frutta costs less, but fruits and quality, AMAZING! A few things that bug me about this place- In the mornings, obviously it is bustling but doesn't justify an average wait time for no less than 10 minutes for my order every time! While I haven't found anything wrong with the quality of my orders in the past, I was completely embarrassed and pissed to find that the the plastic container was completely cracked open in 3 different places (see pictures) which inevitably resulted in most of the açaí bowl content to leak and spill all over the paper bag by the time I got to my meeting. I didn't have enough time to leave the meeting and go back to get another one but 6 month pregnant, I needed substance so I played the pregnancy card in front of my co-workers, poured what little was left in the bowl through the cracks into a cup (making the biggest mess in the process). Horrible experience. After requesting almond butter in my smoothie, someone replaced it with peanut butter (which I'm allergic to). I had to rush to a pharmacy for benadryl and sit next to my epi pen all day, losing an entire day of work. I tried to contact customer service twice through their online portal...no response. I then instagram dm'd them...no response. I then called the number on their website...automated voice message. I then got to speak to someone who then gave me the customer service number. After speaking to them, they said they would get in contact with me the next day. By mid-afternoon the next day, I heard nothing and called them. They said they would give me $15 for my experience, and I asked to speak to someone higher up in the organization. The Customer Service Manager then called me and told me that I shouldn't dine at places with cross contamination (a reminder this was not a case of cross contamination) and that I was basically asking for it by getting a smoothie from them. She also had no answer for why they couldn't get back to me after sending them emails. Truly horrible customer service. I'm done going to them and would rather support other places around the city. The menus are lined against the wall as you stand on line, giving you a time to look it over before you order. It worked out really nicely as I am not familiar with their menu. I wound up ordering the "Protein Buzz" that includes blueberries, bananas, raspberries and ice with either soy or almond milk. I chose almond milk. There were a lot of people ahead of me that day, so given that they managed to get my drink done fairly quickly (and they were very friendly). The drink was very tasty. I'm glad they didn't add any type of syrup or sweetener because the natural sweetness of the fruit was perfect along with the flavor of the almond milk and the texture of the crushed ice.
