After driving a couple hours from Bar Harbor, my husband needed a Cappuccino jolt. At first, we were doubtful to find anything.... something....on desolate Route 1. What it took was a super quick glance and pop a U-ey to come here. And there it was, a stand-alone oasis on a dirt and gravel road to grab some hot beverages and a pastry in rural Lincolnville, ME. Totally unexpected! Inside style reminds of a cozy shack meets a Log cabin- but stylish. Way too cozy! One of the young ladies did a great job of making sure we were happy with our beverages. The other girl, seemed as if she didn't want to be bothered. Aside from that girl's bland attitude, my Almond Milk Matcha Latte was great, hubs enjoyed his Cappuccino and shared a moist blueberry scone. So don't think you took a wrong turn or seeing things.

Beautiful shop with lovely women working hard to being the locals great coffee. We loved both the medium and dark pour over coffees. There are also cool things to purchase as well-tea cups, artwork, etc. We look forward to buying a few pounds of coffee to take back home with us!

A large selection of craft-roasted beans.

Not sure how such a good coffee place came to be located in such a small, rural community, but it's wonderful. Pour-overs highly recommended.

Cute little cafe and shop. They sell a variety of coffee grounds, honey, syrup, mugs & cups, etc. The drink menu is pretty basic. Very friendly staff and nice ambiance.

I absolutely adore this little hidden coffee shop! It's open right at 7 and down the street is the perfect little beach spot! The lady who made my latte did a fantastic job. She blended vanilla and honey to make the ideal semi-sweet drink. I have insulin resistance, so I cannot have a lot of sugar but do very much like it. This was the first latte I could fully enjoy with little sugar but an abundance of flavor. The blonde lady who made it was also delightful and made conversation to pass the time. The prices were reasonable too! Aside from the drinks, the shop itself was so cute, with affordable prices on bagged coffee/tea, mugs, and other gifts. I highly recommend that anyone in the area stop here and grab a drink!

This little coffee shop was my saving grace during my stay in Maine. It was situated about 5 min from the motel we were staying in. Well, first off, it was absolutely adorable. Very homey, rustic and welcoming to say the least. The staff was so friendly and the coffee was delicious. They don't do any drip coffee, pretty much just espresso drinks and pour overs. We made sure to grab a bag of whole beans before leaving for the airport the morning we left and have been able to enjoy it at home!

But I've always appreciated their delicious roasts! I had the opportunity to check out their open house in December and am so glad I braved the cold and snow to do so. I'm not entirely sure if they're open to the public normally, but part of me hopes they are (or would consider it at least two or four times a year). This is a beautiful space that should be celebrated and used as frequently as possible. We got to sample many different blends and actually watch coffee roast (which I had no idea was such a quick process - from white to yellow to tan to brown). Also, wanna talk about passionate, community-oriented people? The folks behind the Wicked Joe (and Bard) brand(s) definitely are; and they're intensely knowledgeable about coffee, too. What you don't know is that the entire Bard staff is trained thoroughly at this Wicked Joe locale on a set-up identical to one at the actual coffee shop. Each barista has to make every drink on the menu perfectly before they can serve you at Bard. My respect for that coffee shop multiplied by a thousand when I found that out! Also, as a side note, the actual roast of the coffees are different for the two brands - definitely important to remember and point out!

They serve good coffee, great bakes, and the overall vibe speaks to me. A few years back, I was in the area visiting another business and recognized Tandem's bicycle logo and immediately became intrigued. I soon discovered that they had a second location here, and told myself if I was ever in the area again I would step in. During this most recent Maine trip, I was making a few last minute stops before heading home, and thought this was as great opportunity to check little Tandem out and get some plural peps. Right from the jump, I noticed the vibe at Tandem Roasters was different. The big Tandem on Congress is large, usually always has a line, and has a large selection of food in addition to the coffee. This Tandem is smaller and more chill - the main floor has some seating around the perimeter, with a smaller room off to the side with more seating. In addition to their merch, they have a decent selection of vinyls to browse. The vibe is overall more chill here - I had time to browse and soak in the aesthetics, whereas you're kinda shuffled down the line at the larger Tandem due to the crowds. The menu is mostly coffee and related beverages; they have a small selection of bakes but it's not nearly as large as their other location. I had already had breakfast, so I decided just to go with a cappuccino. The beverage was good - everything you want out of a cappuccino. Service was also good, I was taken care of promptly and my beverage was ready relatively quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to check this Tandem out. It's a little off the beaten path of the main commercial hub of Portland, however there are a few businesses in the area so it's worth checking out if you're in the area.
