After driving a couple hours from Bar Harbor, my husband needed a Cappuccino jolt. At first, we were doubtful to find anything.... something....on desolate Route 1. What it took was a super quick glance and pop a U-ey to come here. And there it was, a stand-alone oasis on a dirt and gravel road to grab some hot beverages and a pastry in rural Lincolnville, ME. Totally unexpected! Inside style reminds of a cozy shack meets a Log cabin- but stylish. Way too cozy! One of the young ladies did a great job of making sure we were happy with our beverages. The other girl, seemed as if she didn't want to be bothered. Aside from that girl's bland attitude, my Almond Milk Matcha Latte was great, hubs enjoyed his Cappuccino and shared a moist blueberry scone. I absolutely adore this little hidden coffee shop! It's open right at 7 and down the street is the perfect little beach spot! The lady who made my latte did a fantastic job. She blended vanilla and honey to make the ideal semi-sweet drink. I have insulin resistance, so I cannot have a lot of sugar but do very much like it. This was the first latte I could fully enjoy with little sugar but an abundance of flavor. The blonde lady who made it was also delightful and made conversation to pass the time. The prices were reasonable too! Aside from the drinks, the shop itself was so cute, with affordable prices on bagged coffee/tea, mugs, and other gifts. This little coffee shop was my saving grace during my stay in Maine. It was situated about 5 min from the motel we were staying in. Well, first off, it was absolutely adorable. Very homey, rustic and welcoming to say the least. The staff was so friendly and the coffee was delicious. They don't do any drip coffee, pretty much just espresso drinks and pour overs. We made sure to grab a bag of whole beans before leaving for the airport the morning we left and have been able to enjoy it at home! read more

My husband and I passed this great coffee place on our drive down from Bar Harbour to Portland on US1. We were just talking about how we needed a break and something to drink when we drive past Green Tree Coffee...we actually made a u-turn and are so glad we did. The front porch has a few chairs, including two rocking chairs, and it's just so peaceful to hang out there with a cup in hand. This place is as good as it gets for local coffee in Midcoast Maine. First, the setting is amazing and fits in very well with the rugged Maine surroundings. A cozy log cabin set back a little ways from the road is inviting at any time of year. I visited in the summer and was easily enticed in, but could imagine it being even more welcome in the cold winter months. After parking in the gravel lot, I made my way up the porch and through the screen door to the shop. Once inside, I was greeted by a friendly shop associate and more coffee than I knew what to do with. I browsed the shelves and debated on all different varieties of roasts before deciding on some Happy Dog whole bean coffee to take with me as a souvenir of my trip. While they didn't offer a sample, I knew it would be good since I'd already had some at my host's house earlier in the day. The sales associate was very knowledgeable while I was in the shop. The coffee I bought was actually a gift for someone else. While I knew they liked whole bean, I wasn't sure how strong of a roast they preferred. After she had educated me on some of the different roasts and their countries of origin, I still kept my choice of Happy Dog. I remembered its great flavor and body from earlier in the morning and was sure it would make the person I was buying it for a Happy Recipient. read more

This funky little coffee cabin is a find! IMPORTANT: Note that it is no longer located in Belfast on Marshall's Wharf. It's in Lincolnville, up Route 1 a piece, maybe 15 minutes south, on the side of the road. Was curious about the place after seeing it featured in MAINE magazine's "48 Hours In . . ." issue. This is another true mom-'n'-pop-style locavore setup done only as Maine can do. The beans are roasted in the back room, and fresh pour-over coffee is served in the showroom out front. The owner was doing the pouring, and his well-mannered daughter rang us up. $5 for a hot pour-over and an iced coffee on the way to a hike in Camden. The coffee was excellent (the best local brew I had Midcoast), and the experience was charming. Make it a point to stop along the way! read more

It's kind of the antithesis to funky 44 North in Deer Isle, but just as good in its own way. The interior is immaculate, the accessories beautifully displayed. You can get a Moccamaster here if you'd like. There are also the usual gift items for the tourist trade. The roasts are pre-packaged in plastic one pound sacks with one-way valves. We bought several as there was a $1 off per pound deal for multiple purchases. So far we are enjoying the Sidamo, which used to be a regular Starbucks selection but seems to have fallen off the radar in favor of Harrar and Yrgacheffe. A medium roast, quite fresh. Had a pour over in the store, which is the way they prefer to serve their coffee so they don't overcharge for it. That was quite good. If your lodgings don't include breakfast then come here by all means. Sit outside and enjoy the breeze. If you're thinking of pulling up your stakes and moving to mid-coast Maine, they have your coffee needs covered. You'll need to find a job on your own. read more

I can't believe this place has only two reviews! It's totally worth a stop if you're in the Lincolnville or Camden area. A TON of great tea selections, and a lot of delicious coffee! They roast on site, and the staff is super knowledgable about the coffee they sell. You can buy coffee/tea by the pound, but you can also buy some fresh brewed by the cup. In addition to getting some coffee to take home, I got an iced latte and it was delicious! The Happy Dog coffee blend is a wonderfully mellow, delicious coffee. Check this place out! First off, if i could give zero stars I would. I had a Chai charger, which is Chai tea with a dbl shot. This is my usual drink wherever I go. The barista, asked of I had ever had one. They have the only electric teapot for sale in a thirty mile radius of Camden. They carry Jasmine Pearl tea. (Never can I find the beautiful fragrant and delicious hand-rolled tea leaves anywhere for sale!) They have fantastic travel mugs. Bought two. They carry my favorite dark chocolate, Lake Champlain. Wished I'd ventured in at the beginning of my stay instead of the end. The store clerk was lovely as well! (Which is nice when salespeople by end of summer tend to get cranky or less interested in helping customers.) She brewed my tea to perfection! Best part- no big crowds- easy parking - and lovely setting in a small wooden cabin with front porch seating. Worth the drive! read more
