Extremely unprofessional front desk staff! After waiting an hour past my appointment time, I asked when I would be seen and the girl got an attitude with me. She told me I was next and I explained that they told me that 30 minutes ago. She said "WELL the doctor can spend a half hour with a patient!" If I didn't already pay my copay, I would have walked out. I used to be a patient here a few years ago and stopped coming because I felt that the nurse practitioner did not treat a certain situation right and I ended up in the ER. I came back today because another doctor said this other doctor is highly recommended. Another note about the staff...I shouldn't have to navigate through nurses and staff laughing and joking around in the hallway. I've been going to Dr. Torres for years, and hadn't really had a bad experience. I've never minded waiting for him...because he's a great doctor, listens to ALL my questions and concerns, and is NEVER rushed with me. However, I called Friday morning, with an emergency with my IUD and I needed to be seen. They got me in on Monday, July 1st, but it wasn't going to be with Dr. Torres. Monday comes, and I show up at 850, because I couldn't remember if my appointment was at 9, or 915... better to show up early anyways, right? I was told by the ladies that I was seeing a "Connie". I had my daughter with me, and my guy showed up about 930. An hour goes by, and they come get me around 1030 to weigh me, take a urine sample and my blood pressure. The nurse told me that they were just "waiting for a room" and that it shouldn't be much longer. Well, another hour goes by, which means that we had been sitting for two hours, and no doctor has seen me. I finally get called back, and the nurse asks me "what I am here for ". I tell her that I am not sure, that the scheduler did not tell me what I would be doing. She tells me to undress from the waist down. Ten minutes go by, and I have lost my patience. What the EFF is the point of having an appointment and being seen two hours later? I had other things to do that day, and my guy had to get back to work. I put my pants back on, and we are leaving when this "connie" who in all the years I have been coming, have never seen. She asked my why I was here today, and I told her. She felt the need to question that. And then she asked what I was suppose to be "had done" today as well. REALLY? You and your nurse are going to have me take my pants off and you don't even know what you are doing to me? No checkout paper was given to me. Only a paper for blood work. I now have a $43 bill. I have never paid more than $20 for a copay here. Sorry Dr. Torres, but your support staff is terrible. I will never see any one besides my doctor again. read more

They like to cancel people's appointments even if the patient is early. Never have I experienced that in my entire life. Their "confirmation" says if you're 15 late to your scheduled appointment time you will be cancelled. They don't tell you if you're not there 15 mins early they'll cancel you. Even if you're only scheduled with their nurse not even the doctor! No respect for peoples time or efforts to get there early, not on time or late but early. This office sucks to the max! read more

Dr tyre SUCKS lol but for reals she was the absolute worst. She scheduled my c section then had to reschedule it because it was her daughters birthday that day. She ended up not delivering my baby some other doctor did. Then I got an infection and had to beg her for antibiotics. Long story short she ended up calling the cops on me and cps and adult protective services because she said I wasn't taking care of myself for an infection I had no control over. I'm done with this place! I scheduled my 1st appt back in April for May appts. My appointment was at 1 I was there at 12:50 they turned me down and did not see me because I was supposed to be there 15 minutes in advance to fill out paperwork. So they rescheduled me for June which was soonest available. In June I made sure I'm 30 minutes early to my appointment. I received a call from the office while I was looking for parking that the doctor got called in for emergency surgery so they rescheduled me for July and guess what they called 1 hour before appointment to reschedule my appointment again. I understand the 1st and 2nd time but this is the 3rd time and soonest available is next month. read more

They do not answer their phones and will not call you back. I had a serious medical concern and question and tried to get ahold of someone multiple times over 3 weeks and got no response. I left a message stating that I had a major concern and still no call back. Even if you make an appointment, you won't be taken back until at least 30-45 minutes later and then your appointment will be rushed because they're running so behind. read more

So I've been coming here for almost 10 years. This is the only OBGYN I know. All of my familly comes here... my mom, my aunt, and my cousins. In all of that time i have never had an issue. Sure they have long waits but I never really cared too much for that because I understand every patient requires a different level of care. What DID bother me and make me switch OBGYN's was my pregnancy experience and thinking about it makes me sick. Here's my story: I find out I'm pregnant. I took four at home pregnancy tests to confirm. I'm 25 years old and this is my first pregnancy. I'm scared and clueless and I have many questions. I call and I'm told I have to wait a week to be seen for a prenatal appointment, no worries.. I waited patiently for a week. I go in at 10:20, my appointment was at 10:45.. I was anxious and waIting patiently, finally got seen for vitals around 11:15.. again no worries. I see Sylvia (she's who I normally go to and have been going to for years, no issues prior) she comes into the room and says "so we're here for an annual" I reply no and that I'm here because I'm pregnant. As soon as I utter those words she immediately starts belittling me and questioning everything I'm saying. She asks me how far along I am, I have hypothyroid so I don't get a period therefore I don't know when my last period was, I told her I think I'm about 4 weeks. She tells me it's impossible to know anything at 4 weeks and usually prenatal appointments are 8 weeks... which is fine but how am I supposed to know how far along I am if I have no I indication? Did I go to school for this? I don't even know what I'm talking about and you went to school for this. So she continues to belittle me, she asks me if I I've "asked my endocrinologist permission to get pregnant" I didn't know a married woman who's 25 needs permission (I get usually they regulate your thyroid when you're pregnant but she was so abrasive and rude about it) she also tells me if I don't have proof of my pregnancy she can't help me, mind you I did a urine test at this office and she did not even confirm or verify with me. She than does my pap-smear and leaves the room to go talk to the front desk I walk up and she stops talking and everyone is looking at me, again the reason I came in was for a confirmation of my pregnancy, never got one. The girl at the front was super nice and was scheduling an ultrasound with me, it was supposed to be 2 weeks later, after I asked why she wanted it that far out she told me Sylvia told her to and finally I asked "does she not believe I'm pregnant or something?" to which the girl at the front replied, "based on how she's speaking I think she doesn't but that's what the ultrasound will confirm" I was at a loss for words. I left with more questions than I came in with and I felt so stupid. I got in my car and cried in the parking lot. I was so upset I called to speak with the office manager who is lovely. She listened and showed empathy. She apologized many times. She told me she would call me back and confirm my pregnancy. She got my results called me and congratulated me. She than scheduled my ultrasound for the following week. I didn't want to come back here but because of the manager I went for the ultrasound to get peace of mind and closure. After which i was appointed to my actual doctor who would be delivering my baby if she "wasn't out of town" who is Dr.Tyre. Anytime i have questions it's a hassle to get through to triage, 10 times out of 10 you have to leave a voicemail and wait for them to call you back. It got to the point where i had to bother the nice manager to ask questions to my doctor. Or if called me back they would give me my lab results and never explained anything to me. It was very unprofessional. Whenever i would bring up questions or concerns my doctor wouldn't pay me any mind. And she would sit in our appointment itching to leave, she made me feel like i shouldn't be asking questions. I feel like i didn't get the experience i should have gotten from the beginning. All my friends who are pregnant get ultrasounds and pictures from their doctor, that's not the case here. Anytime i would ask to see the baby she talked to me like i was a bother. Poor woman has a literal closet in the corner for an office and her ultrasound machine is old and inadequate. What really put the nail in the coffin was reading all her reviews and seeing she tries to push c sections only. She tried planting the seed with me very early on stating I'm "smaller" down there and would probably need one, when I've never had anyone tell me that. I also don't live in Henderson I live pretty far, I went out of my way to come here and after reading other people's experiences I looked to others in my life to recommend a better OBGYN, I highly recommend this for you also. I had this office transfer all of my charts and medical history. Now I'm 24 weeks pregnant and starting over but only for a better experience. read more

Dr. Torres was absolutely awful to me. I waited an hour and a half to see him, and when he came in to see me he spent 5 minutes with me. All he did was tell me I needed surgery and then followed up with "it's very painful surgery." I was so shocked I couldn't say anything. And I was hoping he would explain things to me, you know like doctors are supposed to do ethically and legally, but nope. All he said was "you can go get a second opinion if you want." And then stood up and left. Seriously one of the worst manners ever. I felt scared and confused and he made it so much worse. I went home in tears. I Will NEVER go back to him. I've been going to this office for 5 years now. I absolutely hate it & the only reason I come back is because I only have to visit 4 times a year. Not only did one of their MA's almost kill my sister SIMPLY BY A DEPO INJECTION (not injected in the right spot on her butt/back, leading to a giant puss filled cyst that would have erupted into her blood stream killing her if we didn't take her to the ER, where they squeezed 4 CUPS of puss out of her cheek. The ONLY reason we don't sue was because they assured us the lady that did it was fired), but they also don't work with my pharmacist. My pharmacist will call to remind them to refill my prescriptions months before my appointment, yet when I get to my pharmacy to pick my prescriptions up they say the obgyn office won't answer/return calls. Meaning I have to reschedule my appointment VERY often. Also because of this, one of their MA's literally belittled my 17 y/o sister blaming her FOR THE OFFICE NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE PHARMACY saying "you do this every time". No YOU do this every time. My sister has refused to go back since that day. They also don't notify when the insurances they accept change until your service is already done, God forbid you don't have the money to cover that appointment. I kid you not, there's ALWAYS something wrong when I show up to my appointments. I have LITERALLY cried in their office from the frustration & the front office lady had witnessed this. They're so unprofessional it's scary. Save your gas, time, and sanity & PLEASE go ANYWHERE else. I will not be going back ever. Due to insurance changes I needed to leave my established GYN practice. I was referred to GV OBGYN and Assoc. I called to schedule and specifically asked if they were capable and willing to manage my hypothyroidism as my previous physician did. I was told of course they do that for several patients and it wouldn't be a problem. During my well visit today I was told that the people who schedule appointments don't know what they are talking about and that they absolutely don't manage thyroid conditions for patients. I get it, accidents happen. I however am now forced to find someone to help me and pay another office visit elsewhere all before I leave town in 2.5 weeks for the summer. read more

This review is for my most recent experience. Dr. Torres is an amazing doctor who delivered my first baby 7 years ago after Dr. Fleischer retired. They have been my office for 8 years and I've never had any issues until this past visit. This past visit was bad enough that they've now lost an 8 year long patient. Friday I saw Dr. Tyre for my initial pregnancy consultation as I am 9weeks. The nurse checking me in (Araceli I believe) was great. Dr. Tyre however, was not. My husband was not allowed back for my ultrasound because of "Covid"? Please tell me how hospitals (Covid centers specifically) allow visitors but an OB office can't allow a spouse? When Dr. Tyre entered the room and i was visibly upset and crying there was no empathy for not having my husband there. She instead immediately started the medical history questioning including pressuring me about getting the Covid booster shot and scouring when I respectfully declined. During my ultrasound she had the machine sound off and the screen behind her so I was not able to see or hear anything. The only proof I have of my child is the words from Dr. Tyre "there's a peanut in there with a heartbeat". This was a traumatizing experience for someone who's been trying to conceive for 10 months and I will never be going back. read more

Ugh, what a complete waste of time! It takes months to get an appointment (your issue may resolve before you can see a practitioner). I finally got an appointment that I had to leave work for, and I get there to hear my appointment has been canceled because I arrived at 8 am for an 8 am appointment. They said I needed to arrive 30 minutes early for paperwork and I can reschedule for 1 to 2 months out. WTH? I can fill out paperwork in 5 mins. Love our healthcare system where we should be empathetic to practitioners being late but patients get pushed out 2 mos to reschedule for arriving at the appointment time. I give 4 stars for Sylvia NP. She's very nice and sometimes has time to really talk to me. The 2 stars is for how terrible this office is run and how late the appts always are. Dr Torres delivered both of my kids, but I like seeing Sylvia for my GYN needs. I hate the fact that I can never get a hold of anyone on the phone, the appts are always 30 min or more behind (even if you have an AM appt), and the kicker today was when I showed up for my annual that they didn't even have on their schedule. I scheduled it last year at that appt. I put it in my phone. I showed up. Their excuse was they got a new computer system and the appts didn't transfer over. Ridiculous! Now I have to wait another month (past my birth control prescription). I'm done with this office and it's a shame because I like Sylvia. read more

I have been going here for almost 2 years now under the care of Rebecca Tyre. My experience has been awful to say the least. It's bad enough that I'm having difficulties getting pregnant but to have an OBGYN that is unknowledgeable, uncaring, and not personable just makes my jaw drop and my heart continue to hurt. I thought my previous OBGYN who told me that The reason I wasn't getting pregnant was because I was too fat was bad but my experience with Rebecca (doesn't even deserve the title Dr.) is worse! At each of my visit Rebecca was quick to keep trying to refer me to a Specialist; however from advice from friends I told her that I would rather do as much of the tests with her (since my insurance covers it rather than all the tests with a Specialist). So needless to say after each of my visits I researched what steps I needed to take and just told her what to do and what Tests to order and send me for. Now, I'm no doctor but isn't the doctor suppose to be the one giving the advice and educating the patient on what needs to be done? Well unfortunately, not in my situation. Please save yourself further heartache! If you are having troubles conceiving, do research and find yourself another OBGYN. read more

I am a very healthy person who just happens to detest going to the Dr ..doesn't mean I'm stupid. Went to this place 2x now embarrassed to say, and not only did I wait in the disgusting waiting room for over an hour each time, I was treated like a low life by both the pa and the staff ...I was told about the finding of a serious condition as if I should have known exactly what they were talking about..the list goes on. Bottom line is this place needs to undergo some serious renovations starting with attitudes and communication skills. read more

I was a patient here for the last 5 years, but enough is enough. Several issues, starting with the office staff having a horrible attitude. And God forbid you approach them to ask how much longer beyond your appointment time until you're seen. Then you have the wait times. Don't expect to be seen until an hour or more after your scheduled appointment time, even if you schedule very early in the morning before they have a chance to fall behind schedule. I tried this trick, no luck. Also, they refused to give me my negative test results for UC without making an appointment and paying yet another insurance co-pay. I have no experience with the actual doctors of this office, but I have certainly questioned the competency of the PA's. When it comes to additional procedures to "just be sure," they probably work on commission. Use this office as a last resort. read more

I scheduled my appointment with Dr. Averitt about a month ago. The office seems to always be busy so be prepared if you can't be seen for at least a few weeks. I got a call a night before from the office with an automated system to confirm my appointment. I appreciated the call and they reminded me to arrive 30 minutes before to fill out any paperwork. I arrived at 10:30 this morning and the waiting room was about 1/3 full. I filled out my paperwork and was seen about 10 minutes after my appointment time of 11:00. I was examined with the nurses and was sent off to the exam room. Dr. Averitt arrived less than 10 minutes after I sat in the exam room. She answered any questions I had about birth control without any personal opinion and was very professional. She even included brochures about different types of birth control I asked about before finishing up the exam. I was out off the office before noon and the check out process was easy. For what it's worth, my appointment was on a Tuesday morning and I'm assuming during the slower time of the day. I had no issues with the staff and everyone I spoke to was professional. read more

Then to add salt to the wound, no one ever answers the phone. They tell you to wait 10 days for PAP results, yet It's been over 2 weeks and I cannot get ahold of them! Fortunately, I didn't consider the bad reviews here before I scheduled an appointment with Nurse Practitioner Sylvia Averitt (Menasco). I read great reviews about her on Health Grades website and being new to the area, made an appointment for a general check up. I was asked to arrive 30 minutes early for my appointment to fill out the appropriate paperwork, which I did. I was called back about 10 minutes before my actual appointment time, which was a nice surprise. The back office staff was very friendly and efficient. Sylvia entered the room within just a couple minutes of her nurse. Sylvia is wonderful! Not only did she make me feel very welcome and comfortable, I didn't feel rushed in any way and was able to discuss some things with her without feeling like I was taking up her time. I will for sure go back to her again. The front desk was friendly enough, could smile a little more. The back office scheduling staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The waiting room is not very comfortable - seems much too small for all the chairs that are crowded in there. But all in all, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this office. read more

I would give a Negative 10 if possible here I have to say in all the years going to an OBGYN this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. Every visit: here is what you should expect: The front desk is rude & Argumentive. Whatever the Doctor orders for you- the front desk act as if they know more and they argue with you when you are simply relaying what the Doctor said. THEY NEVER answer the phone. GOOD LUCK CALL NOW SEE IF THEY ANSWER THAT'S A SIGN TO RUN! They will schedule you and when you show up they tell you it's the wrong time. You are treated like cattle. My daughter is a Labor and Delivery Nurse, So I know kindness and Empathy and I have to say the way you are treated here is borderline abusive! The Nurse that did my intake was so angry she had to be there she rolled her eyes and dropped the clipboard on the counter and honestly she never even said anything nice. No how are you what is going on. She was a miserable person who hates her job and it shows. The Doctor was knowledgeable but good luck fighting with everyone else there. I had a Uterus Biopsy - So I am waiting on the results- Depending on if I need to fight to get the results- Still out to lunch on that- The front desk argued about that with me as well. The Dr. said schedule in a week for the results - again MISS FRON DESK " NO, we don't schedule in a week". I even asked if my 17-year-old could come in and what was needed from me I was told "nothing she is 17" she went in and they would not do anything without my consent. WOW!
