I needed to have some waxing done so I searched on yelp for places close by to me. Their advertisement states that they take walk-in appointments but I called just to make sure before I went there. The woman on the phone said yes they do take walk-ins and to come in. So I drove 25 minutes to their location and the woman at the front desk tells me there is no one there to provide this service for me. I called their number and spoke to the owner and she apologized but also told me the same thing. So the only recommendation I have is to be aware of false advertisement and misrepresentation of services even if you call to confirm. read more

Found this place with the help of the one and only YELP! I was looking for a new place to get my waxing done before a trip, and Green Wave had great reviews. It was super easy to make an appointment well in advance online! They have so many appointment dates and times to choose from. The rooms were completely sanitized and everyone was required to wear masks throughout. The staff made me feel super comfortable during my time there. The receptionist was friendly and Diana, my specialist was great! She made the process fast, easy, and as painless as possible. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! I came to Green Wave while staying in Boca Raton for the summer. The lady at the front desk was very lovely. Lorena waxed me, I got a full bikini wax. She was very pleasant and friendly and I did not feel uncomfortable even for a second. She chatted with me while waxing which is useful to get your mind off the pain. (I find my appointments always have to be book at least 2-4 days in advance to get in) I see Giovanna for a Brazilian and she's amazing! She's incredibly sweet and always gentle. Come on you Guys!! I've seen plenty of you hairless hairy men at this place but only see a couple of your reviews. Shame on you!! These ladies are awesome. The business is located facing Federal, at Royal Palm Place. I strongly recommend that you make an appointment. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes but you must BE ON TIME or you will be considered a walk in and this place is always busy. Prices are within the normal range and the suites are very clean. But the best part is that they don't use soft wax which requires those God forsaken strips. Green Wave's hard wax is much gentler and best for sensitive skin. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist as the best waxing option. After relocating from Miami to Boca I thought I would never find a place that used hard wax. It is crazy but most places here still utilize the strip method. All the ladies at Green Wave are great but my personal favorite, and that of many others, is Patricia. She's got many years of experience and has a great technique. I would have given 5 stars but I have NEVER in my life been treated SO RUDELY by a front desk staff so unfortunately she will knock down your rating. Don't even TRY to use the Yelp check-in discount if you don't "live in Florida" because I was told upon check in when I mentioned it "we give 10% for new customers who don't live in Florida" and when I checked out I asked again about the Yelp discount & was told with the utmost RUDE and condescending tone (along with my total) this "wonderful" reply "uh we don't do that at all unless you live in Florida". I told her nicely "You guys should probably change your Yelp then..." her reply, as she scoffed "uh yeah, we'll make sure to do that" WOW Customer Service at its utmost finest!!!!! I attached screen shots of the check in with NO MENTION you must live in Florida. Guess she took my no makeup face and frizzy hair for someone who doesn't have an education or money. I cross my T's and dot my I's so maybe she should do the same. My family lives in Boca so you COULD have a repeat customer when I come out, let alone me send my whole family who live here, but with such a sh*t attitude I think the only reason they keep in business is their amazing techs and wax!!! PROS: Cecilia was amazing!!!!! I typically HATE hard wax but she was so great, gentle, knowledgeable and I loved our conversation. She kept me calm and laughing the entire time. I am a guy, and wanted my back/shoulders done. Never did the wax thing before and was a little nervous. I tried Green Wave from reading all the reviews and it's very close to my home. The place took my appointment for later in the day which was nice. It was a little strange filling out all the paperwork as a first time customer (they wanted my driver's license?). After getting that done, I was greeted by Giovanna who was very pleasant and warm. She did everything to reduce my anxiety and explained how the process works. The room was comfortable, temperature too. It was weird seeing the interior walls not touch the ceiling. A little lack of privacy, and you could here the next room's conversations. . . That was just for a couple of minutes though. It's not really a big deal. Giovanna was great and gentle (she even tells you when to breath in, which sort of helps to cope with each pull. Yes, you do feel a little short discomfort at the pull, but I heard it's worse with other wax products. This was the hard green wax, and it felt nice going on the skin nice and warm. I liked the powder, and the final cool wipe down at the end. The discount for first time visit was nice too! I will definitely be back. As of now (20 hours later) my back/shoulders looks clean and amazing, and my wife is so happy to see me like this! read more

WARNING: DON'T GO HERE! Quite possibly the most inexperienced, rude & undertrained front desk staff. Lack of privacy in the rooms as well as check-in process is very uncomfortable. First & last names used in front of many clients has The walls are so thin that hear everything that is going on. The sign in the bathroom stating the problems with the toilet does not give you much confidence in the cleanliness of the center. I have been a previous client that is nervous & very uncomfortable with the whole idea of the service. Factory like atmosphere with only semi-private rooms (the walls don't go all the way up so you can hear clients in other rooms). Wax specialist Marcella was business-like and not very warm. This would be all fine and dandy if the wax process was efficient and "less painful" as they claim. This is not the case. This is a stripless wax meaning you pull the wax itself. Multiple wax reapplications and pulling was required to finish the wax. My bottom has never been so sore. Would not recommend. read more

I give Diana 4 stars but they really need to be more specific when it comes to pricing of their services. A Brazilian usually means complete removal of all hair in the genital area which i was under the impression that it was going to be $40 as it says on their website when booking for an appointment. Upon checking out, I was told what I got was considered two bikinis and that their Brazilians they leave a strip of hair.... that there are multiple types of bikinis... i booked for a Brazilian which is the removal of all hair under my impression which is what i got but was upcharged to $50 for 2 bikinis.. i probably will not be coming back here. read more

This is an absolute TMI yelp review. I was a brazilian waxing virgin before yesterday. Sure, there's been many times I went into a waxing studio and had my heart set on the deed but alas, could not do it and opted for the deep bikini wax instead. The thought of Brazilian...well, my psyche wasn't into learning Portuguese. But Saturday, it was on. I was not going to be deterred. It was happening. And so I popped two Aleves 30-minutes prior (it would have been a lot stronger if I had a driver of the vehicle) and made an appointment. I was placed with Patricia, waxer extraordinaire. She's like the Rolls-Royce of hair removal. If you're going to do it, you want it to be the most comfortable ride you can afford. It wasn't painless. Oh no, I'm not going to lie to you and say that I didn't feel a thing but it certainly was very bearable. She talked to me (i.e. distracted me) the whole time. She didn't make me feel self-conscious that I was naked with a stranger for 30-minutes which wouldn't have been that bad if she wasn't yanking all of my hair out. The salon was beautiful and clean. The latter counts big time when you're dealing with a RN like myself. The walls went up to the ceiling which is nice...sometimes there's a gap in other waxing studios and you can hear the people next door. Screaming. Just kidding! Loved the type of wax they used. My skin was baby soft after she was done. The receptionist was cute and courteous. And the price wasn't bad. Since I was a new customer, I got a 20% off discount. After the last waxing I got from a franchise owned by the Marquis De Sade, I stopped going for waxes. I finally decided than rather going to a Nail Salon for this specialized procedure, I would go to a Yelp recommended place that specializes in waxing. Smart move. I found Green Wave and am thankful that people posted about them. I saw Lorena. She was gentle, knowledgeable, kind and good at her job. Waxing is not a joyful experience, it's painful and uncomfortable. Not so with Lorena. She made me comfortable and while it's not enjoyable, it was relatively painless and I was comfortable. I finally found one person who I am going to regularly go to, Paula, who does a great job on the eyebrow wax. I would've given this place 2 stars prior to that. Some of the girls do not speak English, or do not do a very good job. Maybe they were new. I also used to wax "down there" and it was very uncomfortable having that done by someone who doesn't really talk to you or try to make you feel comfortable. It would also help if they offered more discounts since it's pretty pricey. I do notice that my skin is a lot less irritated than other waxing places, so I will continue to go here. I went here a week prior to Thanksgiving 2012 (Nov). My friend had done the research on the place so I benefited from her research lol. I consider myself a connoisseur of waxing establishments, their various waxes and waxing techniques & methods lol. Any who, overall I enjoyed my experience. The rates were reasonable, to my surprise. I assumed since the locations were in Boca & Weston that I would be charged an arm and a leg, I was not lol. The decor in the establishment was okay, not special and not my taste. The place is modern, not run down at all & relatively clean. I got a full Brazilian wax with buttocks. The pain was tolerable. My estetician (sp?), Patricia, wasn't as gentle as I would have liked but she got the job done. Her waxing technique was the usual. The green wax they use is apparently some organic wax and it had my skin feeling smooth for approximately two weeks. She did not use a waxing strip, the wax solidifies and becomes a strip of sorts....so be prepared if you have a low tolerance for pain. The wax and establishment itself was great! They use hard wax only which is my preference and they were able to see me without an appointment. It was clean, comfortable (accept the bathroom light wasn't working so I had to pee in the dark) and my technician was friendly. When I checked into the place on my Yelp app on my iPhone I realized that there was a deal, I asked if I could use it and the receptionist said that she would check with her manager, after she did so, her manager indicated that it was okay. It seemed like the receptionist felt some type of way about it though. She also tried to make up some rules on the spot that pertained to my ability to use the deal (that's why I had her go get her manager). It's unprofessional for a business to willingly have a deal when you check into Yelp and then give you grief when you want to use said deal. They totally nickled and dimed me too. A part of what is normally considered part of the brazilian area they charged extra for calling is the "upper thigh"- I hate that. But whatever, in my mind the whole cost was still relatively cheap compared to NYC prices. read more

So I used to go to a similar place that was further from my house a bit more expensive, but then my sister recommended me to here, and I loved it! The people who work there are very nice and they don't treat you like just another customer! Well at least Olga, the lady I had, didn't! I get more of a spa feel from this place then a waxing torture zone and I just over all loved the feel of it. Everyone was happy and they were willing to take a very last minute appointment made by yours truly. They also give you a little stamp card that fills up to five I think and once it's filled you get $5 off your next purchase! Not much but it's something! I recommend this place! I have never, ever gotten body waxing done. I was quite nervous because of all the pain stories I've heard in the past. Upon walking in, I was happily greeted. I filled out a new customer form and was helped on time. The place is very clean, smells great, has many private rooms and the area in the room where they have the wax is very clean. They have their rules, customer rights clearly posted. Lizzeth was so professional, sweet, swift, and gentle. My expectation of 100% pain was met by 20%. The pain was almost nonexistent. Even though it was my first time, I didn't get the 25% off because I still have my California license. But to be honest-I didn't care. The price was perfect and entirely justified.
