Delicious comfort food, fast and friendly service, and it's right beside the Greenbrier River with outdoor seating to feed the ducks!

After a day of gallivanting thru the area we found ourselves looking for a spot for dinner - decided on the Greenbrier Grille which was the first place we saw upon crossing the bridge. We sat out on the covered deck along the river & watched the ducks while we waited for our server. Much like everywhere else these days, they were short-staffed but the lone server was doing her best to keep up with everyone. I ordered the Oven-Roasted Turkey with filling & mashed potatoes w/ gravy - really hit the spot! Enjoyed the ambiance & views ..relaxing way to finish out the day ...and ducks everywhere! Recommended!

Top 5 hot dogs in WV!!

On our quest to review the top 50 WV hotdog list, we came to Greenbrier Grill. This has to be one of the best hot dogs in West Virginia. It is definitely in our top 5. However, all the food looked so good and the portions were huge. Our waitress was the only down side, but everybody has bad days now and then. The outdoor seating area along the river was tranquil. It was a beautiful drive from Lewisburg too.

Decent food, always great service. It's a beautiful spot to sit outside and watch the ducks in the river. Some items on the menu aren't great but their breakfast is our favorite.

I stayed for one night at the Lodge since I was in the area and prefer to stay at independently owned hotels when given a chance. The room was spacious but definitely dated. The bathroom on the other hand seemed to be recently remodeled and very nice. The bed was comfortable and the area was quiet at night. Its a secure floor of the building, accessible only if you have the door code, which you get when you check in. Price was reasonable for the stay.

    So called Philly cheesesteak

Straight booty. Food was terrible, service was mid. Nice spot by the river but overall experience bad.

We were able to get reservations and were seated within a minute of when we arrived. We ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and checked out the menu. Having a larger lunch than we both eat, we settled on two salads: mine was the chicken salad that had fried chicken, cheese and potatoes. My husband ordered the salmon salad. We both also wantee the pasta dishes but kept with the salads! While we waited, we had lovely boule of bread and butter. Service was fabulous and tables are fancy with tablecloths and fresh flowers - so you can dress up or down! Its very quaint inside and has neat little defined seating areas. Slads came out and I laughed as we wanted something on the smaller side and these are not small. They were both fabulous and I couldnt finish mine! We will be back!

Foxfire Grill - Snowshoe, WV…read more Visited in August with family and our dog while in Snowshoe, WV. Foxfire has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which was a big plus. The setting is lovely -- Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it's still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout -- not just a little char, but fully charred. I've attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it's a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me -- enough to take off two stars. Hopefully next time the kitchen cleans up their act. Rating: (3/5) Last visited: August 2025

I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries, and it really hit the spot. Portions are generous and the flavors are satisfying, especially when you're craving something hearty and warm. It can get pretty busy, especially during peak times, so expect a bit of a wait and slower service. That said, the staff is usually friendly, and once you're seated. If you can grab a seat by the window, the village view at night is a nice bonus.
