    Fun spot for good food

We stopped in after a hike Roaring Run before heading back up the mountain to the state park around 2:30. The service was excellent and the people were super friendly. The food was good, I had the breakfast omelette with bacon. It was lacking in the amount of bacon IMO. The eggs were a bit overcooked which made them not nearly as good as it should have been. My daughter had the make your own sandwich and said it was ok. Our other family members had the burger and said it was good and someone else had a build your own sandwich and said it was great. My favorite thing we had was the fried mushrooms they were delicious. I would like to come back and give them another try during lunch or dinner time.

Love the vibes in this place! So personal and small town cozy! We went for brunch and there was no wait and you seat yourself, and the service was great and everyone was so nice! The food was DELICIOUS and so hot! Definitely get the home fries! I got mine with some sautéed onions and it was so so so good!

Absolutely love! I stopped here after backpacking in Shenandoah Ntl Pk and felt right at home. The service was great, our waitress was so lovely and kind! The food was amazing as well. I went at a quieter time with only a few other folks dining in. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to stop by!

This is a quaint family restaurant that serves delicious food. You walk in and are greeted with a hi and a smile. The menu doesn't seem super big but they do have specials on different days. They also serve breakfast all day! I got the fried mushrooms which were fresh from the fryer and yummy with ranch dip. I also got the spoiled brat which is powdered sugar, whipped cream, and maple syrup on vanilla French toast or pancakes with side of eggs over easy and bacon. It was super delicious! And a pretty decent portion. Family had southern fried fish platter and the taste I had was yummy. Kid had a cheeseburger and it seemed ok. Sorry for the half eaten pictures- I always forget to take a picture before eating. Anyway, in the ladies bathroom there are sweet encouraging messages on the walls. My father in-law asked about why there weren't many doughnuts in the case (they sell doughnuts) and they offered to make us some on the spot if we wanted some! So sweet!

Wonderful little gem of a restaurant hidden off the main road and absolutely worth the drive. It's situated in an old country store and had a great "home cooking" feel to it. My wife ordered the bbq platter and I ordered the fried chicken tender platter. Both are prepared and cooked on site and were delicious! The service was great too! Will definitely return!

Chicken strips, green beans, yeast roll. (Salad too but no pic, BUT the blue cheeks dressing was great))

Local place, a bot hard to find if you aren't looking. Usual menu of home cooked favorites, sandwiches, burgers. Breakfast all day!! They do have daily specials (although not always). Our most recent visit, they'd did not. Welcoming people and friendly folks. Our go to place when traveling through Clifton Forge.

    Club Sandwich with fries.

We stopped here for dinner on our way to Williamsburg, VA. We loved everything....the food, the service, and the ease of getting to it from the interstate. I was really delighted to get a club sandwich on gluten free bread. We will definitely be back.

The outside looks slightly run down but inside looks AMAZING and so cozy and fancy. The food was good too, the salad bar was just ok. But the drinks were so good and so cheap as well! I would say this restaurant is a high class local steakhouse and not much on good seafood…read more I went there and I was on the only customer (this was about 5:45 in evening) so the waitress was in parking lot on her phone, but quickly went inside and meet me. She got my table ready, which took no more than 5 minutes. Where I was seated, they had dim red lights on, which made it a little hard to see the food and menu. I wanted Mussels as an appetizer, but they were out. So, I got Cold Cocktail Shrimp instead. They were ok, the cocktail sauce was too strong thou. They also put out fresh rolls. The rolls were good, just small. Next, I ordered a Grilled combo of shrimp and scallops, with a side of steak fries. On the sides, for an upscale restaurant, there were not many side options. As for the main dish, the Shrimp was barely edible and the scallops were ok. Both had no flavor, tasted like they were grilled too long. The cocktail sauce helped a little with the scallops. The waitress was great and professional, I also talked with the owner. Who was walking the restaurant. Overall, as to the seafood side of the menu. I'm not really impressed. Maybe the steaks are good. But overall, I don't recommend this restaurant.

I have been to many restaurants that I've enjoyed but this one stands in a class by itself…read more Starting from its sofisticated yet relaxed ambiance, to its exquisite food prepared by knowledgeable cooks, to its extraordinary customer service by friendly servers. One always has a delightful dining experience here. Today, I decided to dine there on the way to going to watch the Actic Productions musical of Into The Woods which was being performed at the D. Geraldine Lawson Performing Arts Center in Fincastle, Virginia. I arrived soon after they had opened at four in the late afternoon. A friendly young lady greeted me at the Host's station right at the entrance of the restaurant and after asking me where would I prefer to seat, took me to the table of my choice. Studying the menu it was not easy to choose what to get from the great variety of dishes. But by the time my sever Kaylee arrived with a big smile and welcoming attitude I had made my decision. I would start off with a Mojito Mocktail to drink. As appetizer I ordered their Coconut Shrimp, followed by a House side salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. And as my main entrée, their 8oz Filet cooked medium-rare. I asked the server for the items to be spaced out and to have the salad before the main entrée. The Mojito Mocktail tasted wonderful. As I was enjoying it a young gentleman server assistant brought me the Coconut Shrimps and they looked amazing. They were enormous in size, very crispy on the outside and fresh and moist in the inside. One of the best that I have ever had. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. Then came the salad which also looked and tasted wonderful. Almost right after bringing me the salad, they brought me the main entrée of the Filet cooked to perfection with a loaded Baked Potato. I don't like when this happens, but the food was so good that I patiently ate it and then asked to speak to the manager. There was no manager on site but the person in charge of the kitchen came to see me and I explained the concept of timing to him as a constructive criticism, letting him know that everything was so exquisite that I was not upset, just wanted him to know so that in the future when this is corrected both the other customers and I could have a more pleasant dining experience and enjoy our food better. For dessert I had their Strawberry Shortcake and it was amazingly delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in the middle. This was the Grand Finale of an excellent meal. The incident of the timing, suddenly didn't seem to matter that much because they took my feedback gracefully and I was able to teach them a lesson in fine dining. In conclusion I continue to highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to returning to try one of their other amazing items from their menu.
