Good food to be honest but all I hear is 141 141 141 141 141 141x1000 like. Also you have to get up to order and to get your food.

Good food for a reasonable price. Good atmosphere for families. Quiet. People who work there are nice.

Despite a limited food selection, the home made stew and chili are outstanding, as is their beer selection. A good place to rendezvous. Arbuckle's bathroom facilities are elementary for such an out-of-the way place, leading to substantial wait times if you're in a hurry...

Yep, pricey, but that's the convenience fee for eating slopeside at the best ski area in the mid-atlantic/southeast. The BBQ sandwich was meaty and tasty. The mac and cheese appeared to be a microwaved Kraft packet, but the kids loved it, so deal with it. My favorite part was the size of the Cool Ranch Doritos - not that cheap stuff today where you get 10 chips for $1. This was the good ole fashioned size where you get a whopping 20! (can anyone say "bargain?"). And what's not to love about Cool Ranch Doritos? Except that they are probably horrible for you. But oh that zesty flavor. Not many places to sit inside so we ate on a wooden picnic table outside and there was a layer of ice/snow on it - but it was fine and added to the whole experience. Fun to watch people skiing about 50 miles per hour down the mountain. By the way, let the lady behind the counter do her thing. She told me several times that when it's a big group, the only way to order is to go one person at a time. A few times, our group didn't listen and started barking out random orders and she put us in our place. I think she was ready to jump the counter and beat the crap out of one of the kids in our group, so behave!

Foxfire Grill - Snowshoe, WV…read more Visited in August with family and our dog while in Snowshoe, WV. Foxfire has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which was a big plus. The setting is lovely -- Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it's still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout -- not just a little char, but fully charred. I've attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it's a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me -- enough to take off two stars. Hopefully next time the kitchen cleans up their act. Rating: (3/5) Last visited: August 2025
