It's literally an aircraft hangar. This is a huge industrial space with picnic tables and a few hightops and the stools at the bar, which is at the far end. You'll get to walk past the huge beer brewing vats, which is definitely cool. We were able to order drinks from a friendly beertender and they have plenty of options/styles available. Why not five stars? They are very limited for non-alcoholic options, just some canned soda and a root beer, but no non-alcoholic beer. That's a bummer for those who don't consume alcohol, which includes my sober wife. Still a nice place and we enjoyed our light dinner from their partner food kitchen, The Hangar. Great place for a beer. Keep in mind they don't normally have food here unless there's a special food truck. The bartender was nice and attentive. This place is right by the airport and be sure to use google maps to find this place not your GPS. read more

New ownership, cool place near the airport. Plenty of seating, games, really neat atmosphere. Great bartender who had very good recommendations. Dog friendly and a nice seating area outdoors as well. Better than expected! Visited on a Saturday evening kinda off season. The location is an old school commercial location. From past experience some of these are sketchy and some are pretty good. This one is pretty good. The Beer. Ok so I am beer snob with a professional beer certificate from VT so my bar is kinda high. I had a hazy IPA which was a good version of that style of beer. However, my wife had the Saison which was an AWESOME version of that style. The place was much busier than I would had expected and we just barely found a place to sit. Which brings me to the folks that go there. What a great group of people. We ended up chatting with a number of folks which was kinda cool. The brewery is dog friendly, and unlike a lot of places, the dogs here were pretty well behaved. Lighting could be improved but if that is my only complaint that is not a bad review now isn't it? read more

We had some time to kill before a dinner so we decided to stop by and try this place out. I had been told about it by a guy from work. It was dark when we went to the place. It is not an easy place to find as they don't have a lit sign or anything that we saw. It is in the building behind a lumber company. If you turn off the road onto a gravel type road, you are getting close. Once inside, the brewery is pretty cool. All the vats are in the open and it is fairly open area. They have enough room for cornhole games, several tables, seats at the bar and a couch and chairs. There were lots of other types of games around as well. There were 3 or so people playing corn hole when we got there. The bartender was a nice lady and she explained the beers to us. We got a flight of all that was on tap - five in all I believe. Unfortunately for me, I am not a big IPA drinker and they were heavy on IPA beers this time. They did have a stout that had spent some time in Smooth Ambler bourbon barrels. It had a very interesting flavor and was good. While talking with the lady, they plan on a red/amber beer coming out in January so I plan on coming back once that is on tap! read more

Young gal at register should NEVER be allowed to speak to public! She couldn't tell me what they had on tap, what an IPA was and exhaled sharply when I showed her the pictures of beers we saw at Tamarack we wanted to purchase! Talk about bother her! When I asked for the Oktoberfest, we're out. Black ale, we're out. The couple next to me rolled their eyes when I glanced at them. When cashier went into cooler for the Mothman Black IPA woman said she's made it clear she doesn't want to be here. I understand they had and event the night before, but attitude and customer service is what keeps customers coming back! When I worked Mardi Gras I worked 15+ hour shifts for 7 DAYS. No time for attitude towards PAYING customers. Her attitude was so bad it's one of the few times I DIDN'T tip! As a bartender I always tip but not her! read more

I spent a month in Lewisburg this summer and had tried all of the GVB's brews I could find in the can. It was nice to finally go to their space to get a taste of what I've been missing. I still can't get over how delicious the Mothman Black IPA was. I was nervous to try it since I don't generally like dark beer, but it was so good! Speaking of, their Maple Porter was INSANE. So good! They had some comfy looking couches set up like a communal area but my friend and I sat at the bar. They have an air hockey table too, but we didn't notice it until we were leaving. Definitely recommend stopping in! I didn't taste a beer I didn't enjoy. Watch out for those high ABVs when you're standing up though! read more

Oh, wow. What can I say? This place is fantastic! My wife and I actually made our vacation plans around going to this brewery. We are from Huntington and we decided to go to Virginia Beach so that on the way back we could spend a couple days in Lewisburg to try this brewery out. Long story short? Virginia Beach was blah but one evening sitting in the taproom at GVBC made up for it. Heading there, it was a bit confusing at first because we went down a side road to a large industrial complex. We were expecting an official sign to attract visitors so we thought we were at the wrong spot. We continued around the building before deciding to go back to the industrial building and pull in the gravel lot. If you are reading this, you will want to go to the third door down on the right side of the building and walk on in. We were greeted with giant mash tons, fermenter, and thousands upon thousands of cans of delicious beer ready to be shipped out all across the state. We meandered our way to the back where the bar was. After a couple minutes one of the workers, Will, excitedly greeted us. Over the course of the next two and a half hours we talked a lot about beer. We talked about homebrew, variations of hops, the history of GVBC and the state of beer in WV. Will's extensive knowledge of biochemistry made him an exceptionally interesting talk, as he has a special drive for the science behind brewing. The beer. Wow. They primarily serve their flagship beverages, each of which I love. Having them fresh on draft directly from the source is extra special. They also serve locally sourced beef sticks that rocked my world. I have no words to describe how awesome they were. I almost forgot to mention one of the best things about the brewery. Citra, the brewery cat, owns the place. The cat is so freaking awesome. read more

My husband and I went to the arts and ale night for a date. First time there. The place is very clean and open. The staff were friendly. We really had fun with Tanya who even bought us pizza. My husband loves the beer! I tag along for the atmosphere :) darts, jenga, Mario cart, checkers, fooseball... It has all the fun. I love breweries like this, that still have a raw industrial feel. It feels like you get to witness something truly special and "behind the scenes." And the hang out is as comfortable as if you are hanging in your buddy's shed just shooting the shoot ;) read more

What a gem! We got lucky and went on the same night as a free live band, Margerite, was playing. The facility is large, clean, and fun. We were visiting the area to see the Saints' training camp and decided to wander around the area. We intended to go to the distillery (across the street) but it was closed. And we saw the sign for brewery and drove on in! Life size jenga, cornhole, darts and other puzzles. They will let you bring in your own food. So, order a pizza to be delivered or grab something quick to bring in. Popcorn is a good idea! read more
