There were tons of young families and student shoppers at this trendy market full of funky handmade jewelry, soap, and thrift clothes. A huge line formed for people waiting for ice cream sandwiches at a food truck parked in front of the market on this sunny Sunday. There were about 20 different stands with friendly vendors in this relatively small flea market. My husband's favorite vendors were selling paintings with Star Wars themes and Japanese influence. These paintings were pretty pricey ranging from 200-400 dollars. Handmade jewelry was very reasonably priced ranging from $5 to $50. Most vendors were ready to negotiate prices. After shopping around you can cross the street and have lunch on the patio at D'Amico's or Torchy's Tacos. I'll definitely visit this market again once cool weather sets in to shop for holiday gifts.

They usually include the menu, but I didn't see one, so I went on their website and Yelp for menu/food photos. I need to see what I'm eating. Very much a visual eater. I also like to prep what I'm ordering. I like the Asian, American, and Mediterranean options. Oh and a Latin dessert. I was torn between the gyro and Korean fries. I love fries and Korean bbq, so I went with the Korean fries. I love that they used crinkle fries. It was a little drenched too much with queso that pooled at the bottom of the container. With all the queso, sauces, and Korean bbq flavors, I wanted the fries to balance out the saltiness. When I got home, I moved the fries to a different container to preserve some of the fries. Don't get me wrong, I love queso, and theirs is really good, but it was a little too much. Maybe if it had been spread onto a larger container to even out, it would've been better. My apartment gives discount vouchers, first come, first serve. They were giving out a $10 voucher which pretty much covers a meal. I got there earlier before they handed it out, so I paid for the fries. I thought they already passed out the 10. The assistant manager saw me and handed me one when I walked back in the building. So, I came back later for the churros and caramel sauce for dessert. The portions are a good size. I saved half my fries to save room for dessert. The churros were nice and warm and filled with dulce de leche, I believe. The caramel sauce was delicious to dip the churros in. The wait for the Korean fries and churros separately was about 5-7 minutes. Not bad. There was one person cooking and one taking orders. I enjoyed their food. The pricing is average for a food truck. One thing I hated about the festival is the design/location of the entrance. The entrance is along the freeway side of the parking lot and every person entering has to walk all the way to the front, where there is no parking to enter. They should move it to the back (closer to the building) where people are actually parking. Drinks in the wine tent (as they call it) range from bottled water, to craft beers and wine vendors, to off brand cokes to Vita Coco coconut juice. I ended up getting 1 beer and 3 coconut juices. I tried food from the bird food truck, bundt cake a holic and scratch food truck. The southern comfort bundt cake was really delicious and wish I would have purchased a whole cake during my visit. I ordered a $5 combo meal at the Bird with 3 chicken wings and waffle fries. I had the wings tossed in their habanero sauce, but was not impressed because not only was it not spicy, it tasted like a typical buffalo flavor you get anywhere. No hint of habanero anywhere to be found. The waffle fries were very good though. From Scratch food truck, I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich. This came out piping hot with chimichurri sauce and red onions on top. It was very good as well.
