And although nothing particularly noteworthy or different from my prior review occurred during my most recent visit as it pertains to vitamins, selection, quality or staff, I want to give Vitamin Shoppes a shout out on behalf of the earth and being a good environmental partner. So for several years now, I have declined plastic bags or really any bag anywhere I buy anything. I don't need another Lulu Lemon bag, I dont need the flully tissue paper with beauty care product...I want none of it. I either carry my stuff out by hand or I have my own reusable bag (once you get on this band wagon you quickly realize the impact one person can have on stopping this plastic madness). Today though while in the Vitamin Shoppe, before I could even say "I dont need a bag," the sales gal asked if I would like a purchase a reusable bag because they no longer use bags.... at all. What? For a tree hugger like me, this is music to my ears. I was taken back for this is the first corporate retailer that I personally have shopped in that is no longer providing a bag to their customers, period. I LOVE THIS! The sales gal indicated that they started this on Earth Day this year and they have gotten a lot of push back from customers. Chris, the store manager, and the district manager BOTH deserve recognition for how they handled my concerns. The district manager personally reached out to me, listened to what happened, and handled the situation with professionalism and genuine concern. I truly appreciated him taking the time to contact me and make sure my experience was addressed. That says a lot about leadership and accountability. And Chris was equally impressive. He was professional, respectful, understanding, and made me feel like my concerns as a customer actually mattered. Chris is exactly what I consider a FIVE STAR MANAGER. The truth is, this is a GREAT store. Sometimes you simply have a few employees who are not on board when it comes to providing excellent customer service, and unfortunately, those few people can negatively affect the entire experience. But good leadership can make all the difference. Both Chris and the district manager changed my perspective because they didn't ignore the problem. They addressed it. I have been trying to cancel my subscription since January and there's no where on the site to…read morecancel it. I even changed the frequency to every 200 days to stop them from coming and they keep charging me over and over again. Sometimes every other week. I've already sent emails to cancel multiple times. I've definitely met the stupid 3 order rule they have before making changes or cancelling and they still keep charging me. I am about to dispute every single charge since January with my credit card company since they are charging me without permission at this point. There's no phone number to call and they don't respond to emails. Don't bother subscribing with them as they will trap you and keep charging again and again and again.
