RUN!!! They lie and then treat you poorly! I had an iron transfusion early 2019. At that time Greenleaf Healthcare told me my infusion was covered. In fact, I had one prior without issue. And I had several infusions at another doctor in a few months prior to that. I've since found an amazing naturopath that has had no issues with my insurance, BUT she also knows what she's doing. Months after my infusion(during covid) I was contacted by then telling me to pay my bill. Confused, I said they had informed me that my services were covered. They said my insurance covered one and agreed to a second and then changed their minds. How is this my issue? Now, almost two years later, they email again telling me to pay. I explained AGAIN what I reported previously and they sent me a nasty email. They clearly don't know how to run a business and are desperate for cash. Such disgusting display of behavior! read more

This is a versatile and flexible shop. Both doctors are knowledgeable and skilled. I had a lipoma removed from my arm which is a minor surgery. I've had an absolutely great couple of experiences at/with Greenleaf Health Care and really can't recommend them enough to qualifying patients for cannabis authorization, but also to anyone for wonderful holistic treatment! Their website is super easy to navigate and is, in my opinion, pretty ingeniously set up. You can choose from a plethora of different types of appointments: GHC offers cannabis authorizations, of course, but also craniosacral therapy, nutrition consultation, Thai (deep tissue) massage, counseling, and naturopathic healing. Legally, all medical cannabis patients now have to make a follow-up appt after the initial mmj authorization (it's not just a GHC thing), so it's fantastic that you get a choice in terms of what you want your 2nd appt to be! I chose the Thai massage, and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr. McDonald's hands are MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED to make another Thai massage appt cuz it's life-changing, for real. Just thinking about it now makes me wanna RUN back!! Scheduling appts is *super* easy cuz you can do it super fast online. You can click "Schedule an appointment" or "Schedule now", and it'll take you to their list of types of appointments. You choose the one you want, and it then it shows you their calendar of available appointments, and then you simply click on the date & time that works best for you: Tada! Scheduled!!! (And they'll send e-mail reminders about your appointment also, which I find super helpful.) If you wanna call GHC, don't worry if they don't answer because you CAN (despite what another Yelper wrote) leave a voicemail, and they'll get back to you. But if you're shy or just don't feel like talking at all, you don't have to! You can set up an appointment entirely with/on the computer! Finding the office is a bit tricky if you don't know what to look for. Yep, you've got the address, and you go to Ballard Ave NW (which is a bit hidden as well), but then you're all, "What? Where IS this place?!?" Okay: It's on the left-hand (West) side of the street right next to Rudy's Barbershop (5229 Ballard Ave. NW), but all you see from the outside of the building is a set of steps that leads up to an old wooden door that appears locked. It's not (at least not during office hours). Go in and then up a few more stairs and, at the top of them, take a right, and you see the GHC suite door, which may already be open. Don't worry just cause no one is there to greet you the moment you enter the cozy waiting room; there's tons of clipboards laying about for you to pick one up and start writing down your information, and Dr. McDonald will step out of his office to welcome you in just a minute when he's finished his session assisting his previous patient! Dr. McDonald's just great! He's just so calm and professional and caring. Can't say enough good things about him!!!! (And speaking personally about the deep-tissue massage... Well, his hands are MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!) The ONLY thing that's tricky for me to report on is the fact that the many stairs are not ADA accessible, but GHC does offer home visits (for a fee). This place is a joke. Their patient interface is so non-existent, I can't even call it unprofessional. How can nothing but a computer be professional? They shut down their 'clinic' for a week and put nothing on the website about it. Nothing on the voice mail, either. Everything is automated online. They do not respond to the messages even after the clinic re-opened today. Phone calls (during business hours) get a VM with no opportunity to leave a message. How can they call this a 'community clinic'? In violation of the ADA act, their healthcare facility is not accessible: stairs and no elevator. They charge extra for accommodating the disabled via "home visit": in clear violation of equal access laws. I wrote, messaged and called over and over for a WEEK to try to talk to a human being prior to my appointment and got nothing but annoying texts and automatic emails. I was hoping I could have a consult from the first floor because I have a shattered leg and severe arthritis, with all the correct paperwork. Clearly, cannabis has important medical properties. Countless individuals have worked so hard for years to get the public safe legal access. I have a serious injury and research shows I can be helped with access to pure, tested products from licensed dispensaries. I don't think this so-called 'community clinic' is really serious about that. This is the most abysmal customer non-service I have ever encountered- and from so-called healthcare professionals? Why are they so flaky? There's more than enough $$$$ to be made on able-bodied stoners seeking authorization cards, I guess. This is no way to run a real practice, Dr. McDonald. I'll be filing complaints with every appropriate agency. This place gives legitimate caring medical providers a black eye with their illegal, cavalier, impersonal approach to patient care in general. The way they treat disabled people is just plainly criminal. Shame on them!!! I shouldn't be in this kind of pain right now. But nobody here gives one damn. read more

I have been going to Greenleaf Health Care since October of 2014. I am a cancer patient and have used multiple services from them including Craniosacral which is mind blowing by the way. Anyhow, Dr. McDonald and Dr. Sadler are my go to doctors in this town, I have abandoned the "Medical Mafia" and going with 100% naturopathic with Dr. Sadler and her protocol for my particular brand of cancer. There is no cure for cancer, the only thing that can cure cancer is your own body and immune system. 1 STAR deducted for lack of professionalism and rudeness. SO...when I arrived...I open the door...walk into a closet with a row of empty chairs on the wall. No one to greet me, and let me know they will be with me, that they know I exist, that my appointment is confirmed. There is one door in front of me closed...and five minutes have gone by. Do I knock? Do I enter? I finally knock, and open the door slowly. A woman (the so-called doctor who never introduced herself) answers the door with an irritated "Yes?" I said "Sorry, didn't know what to do." She said in a rude, snarky tone: "Do you have an appointment?" I said yes, and gave her my name. She said: "Well, I'm with someone now! You're early!" And she closes the door. Mind you, I was 17 minutes early- because the guy answering the phone said: "Show up early to fill out paperwork." She opens the door five minutes later, and calls my name. I gave her my name five minutes ago, and there was one other person WHO, I must add, walked in as lost as I was when I walked in! The guy said: "Uhh, is there anyone here?" I smiled, and said "I don't know!" He sat down, shook his head, and said "weird." 2nd STAR deducted for BAD LOCATION! The guy answering the phone failed to tell me IT'S A TRICKY LOCATION TO FIND if you aren't looking for an obscure, offset staircase with a notebook-sized sign indicating where the hell you are. And once you find it, you are greeted by a closed goddamn door, with a man-behind-the curtain ominousness answering when you muster up the balls to knock. No bell, no sign indicating to knock, to wait, that someone is in session- nothing. Just a row of chairs with a closed door in your face. I'd knock off another star for extremely abbreviated- if not, absent- cannabis education, in relation to my condition, but the session was quick and easy. read more
