We used Greenleaf for over 20 years. They used to be a honest, reliable company. Something changed a couple of years ago. The techs that they sent out were obviously new and needed some training . Not a big issue. Except, when you called the office with any questions. The person answering the phones is also new. To refer to this person as rude is an understatement. The person would simply hang up the phone is they didn't like what you asked them. This became the norm. And when you could actually converse with this person, they were rude and dismissive. Most of the time, they would ignore your call and let it go to voicemail. And then not call you back. Keep in mind, we just wanted someone to open, close and maintain the system. Our questions were simply like "When can you come out and turn on the system?" That's it. We then got a letter telling us that they would no longer be servicing our area. All the positive reviews here? I agree with them 100%. But they are all several years old. They WERE a wonderful company. Now, they are awful. read more

Like this: I would not recommend this company. I used this company 2 years ago for our annual turn on and timer adjustment . The service man they sent out told me there was a leak in the basement. When I went down there with him, he assaulted me. I filed a plocie report and contacted them and they did nothing. Please be aware and be careful. Greenleaf maintained our irrigation system for years and then in Oct 2022, apparently, they decided to not service Chicago and "other areas". They did not send an email or a postcard and left us high-and-dry, as all other companies are completely booked. Additionally, in June 2022 Tony checked our landscape lighting and transformer. He noted a light needed to be replaced. We asked what next steps would be via email, as he never rang our bell or told me he was onsite. A couple weeks later, we were told it was replaced, but he never provided an estimate for work, nor received a confirmation from us to proceed. Not only did we get an invoice for $355 for the work, but the light didn't even match our existing lighting! The work just happened without our approval. When we called, the gentleman informed me that our bushes covered it, so it wasn't noticeable. He clearly wasn't at our home because that was totally inaccurate. We emailed Tony and provided a link to the correct light and he said he wouldn't install something he didn't sell. We told him to come get his light. We ended up having an electrician replace the light and repair the wiring. Who knows what kind of business this guy is running, but we did inform our landscape company who recommended him of these issues. Very disappointed with Paul and his team on a warranty repair after 10 months in on an install of an outdoor landscape lighting system. The system stopped working. Our written warranty was supposed to be for three years. Numerous calls to Paul and his office staff, with no offer of a resolution or mention of someone coming out to take a look at the problem. After roughly a month of no responses, I had to hire another company to come out for the repair. When the other company came to analyze the issue, it was discovered that the workmanship of the install was very subpar. Electrical wires were uncapped, wire was exposed, very shotty work. Gratefully a fire did not happen. I text Paul after the other company came out to tell him what was discovered. Again, no response. When it was time to get paid, the response time was exceptional. When there was a problem, response time was nonexistent. When companies issue a warranty, I understand and expect that they should stand behind it. This wasn't the case with Green Leaf. Very disappointed and would definitely warn anyone that is considering using them to think twice. read more
