Very nice place. Clean and classy. Service was good. The Tri-tip sandwich I ordered was marginal at best. The meat was very tough and flavorless. It was overpowered by some onion sauce that didn't seem to work well together. I'm still a fan of Greens. I've been to the other location close to Modesto Toyota and have ordered the turkey sandwich many times. I'll just won't order the Tri-tip again. read more

I went to greens for my first time on Wednesday, and had such a wonderful experience. The restaurant is gorgeous and elegantly decorated. The food was heathy, and tasted amazing. (this is a review I started a year ago but never finished) I've been to Greens now about 5 times and I've had OK experiences with the food and the service. I like to go here because the location is very convenient for working in downtown Modesto, the facilities are very pretty, and the food breaks up my usual sandwich monotony. I am vegan so I have had the (vegan) tomato basil soup, garlic fries, and the vegan black bean burger. The soup and fries were yummy. The burger was kind of terrible! The patty was tasteless and they used a grotesque amount of really spicy mustard - like real mustard that feels like wasabi. I love real mustard and all but it made the entire burger inedible. The salads and other things I've had here are also just okay, especially considering the price. The ambience makes it seem much nicer quality than it is. One thing to note is that the bathrooms are upstairs and there isn't an elevator. It has free Wifi and a beautifully decorated space. It's definitely a nice place to take someone to lunch, but the food itself is actually not that yummy. read more

Cuteeee spot! Open Saturday's for brunch! 10-2 and they have bottomless mimosas. Absolutely enjoyed my time there. The place is real low key and service was good. They took about 10min to get us some drinks but it was overall good service. I got the eggs Benedict with salmon. Super Delish! I would definitely come again. read more

Great night out! We ate here for dinner on the first day of our Whole 30 eating plan so we were a little nervous we were gonna screw up on the first day! But the staff was very accommodating more than helpful. Took the time to look over the menu with us and give us some options based on what was on our eating plan We had the Roasted Chicken, Beef Ribs, and Brussels with Bacon. The chicken was very savory and big pops of flavor. We had fresh green beans with slivered almonds The Brussels were the best I've ever had! Over had a great vibe, killer ambiance and great informed staff. Reminded me of a place I'd find in downtown SF rather than downtown Modesto. I came here today on my birthday to have a healthy lunch I took a picture from the Modesto view newspaper that made the place look very good especially since it said full bar . Hey who doesn't want a celebration drink on there birthday? We arrive it was pretty busy for only one server who was hustling around the place , we got out seats and we were excited that we were going to try this place. The menu was small and easy to navigate . Upon the server coming to take our order we asked to see a drink menu she said they weren't a full bar and can only make basic drinks , my brother was going to ask a question and she abruptly left to seat other guest in mid conversation. She came back and I pulled up the Modesto view add to explain that the advertising was misleading she said she was going to tell the owner immediately walked away from us and got on her phone , we then got up and left , had it have been handled differently we would have probably still ate there.. sorry I will never be going back or recommending this place to anyone... This place was an absolute and utter disaster. I've been here many times before during my lunch hour, and each time was fine, it was great. But last Friday had to be the most horrifying experience ever. My office made reservations for a large group of people: Greens knew about it, I called and made the reservation, stopped by and picked up the menu, let them know we would be pre-ordering, and they smiled and said great that is fine. Friday rolls around, I drop off the menu along with our order two hours prior to our arrival. When we get to the restaurant we're served with drinks, service was kind of slow at first, and then it only got worse. Our first plate of food did not hit the table until 30 minutes after our arrival. Really? We pre-ordered! I went downstairs to ask why they were taking so long, I also let them know to please not mess up all the burger orders, as we had over 14 burger orders and all of them were different. The chefs looked at one another in confusion as if they did not know. As I was walking up the stairs one of the chef said man this is going to be hard. It was such a horrible experience, big parties should not come here, half of the burgers were cold, all the burgers were missing avocado, and to make things even worse, two of our employees did not get their lunch. Not only that, but I know for a fact they did not look at the order list that I had taken to them two hours prior to our arrival until we walked in the restaurant. At the end of it, we were informed that they ran out of food. REALLY???!??! I can for sure say I will never ever go back to Greens. read more

I work downtown and I usually go to Camp 4 for their delicious salads. I decided to switch things up and go to Greens for a Cobb salad today. I called the Cobb Salad in and an order for my colleague. When I arrived, they had misplaced the order, so I had place a new order. I sat there for another 20 minutes while I waited for my salad to be made. I got back to the office excited to eat my Cobb salad and I must say, I am completely disappointed. It is the worst cobb salad I have ever had. I had a box full of ice burg lettuce, a little bit of chicken and onions, I think there was some crumbled egg on it too. There were No tomatoes they forgot the crumbled blue cheese and the chicken was completely bland. I'm completely disappointed and won't be recommending clients to this location for lunch. I will send them down to Camp 4 for a tasty salad! read more

Don't waste your time or money. First time customer. I was at a conference at the Double Tree so I thought I'd try it for dinner. I ordered the "clean green salad" with 4 ounces of chicken breast. You can hear the grill sizzling from the tables. I thought hmm fresh organic, grilled chicken breast. When my food arrived 50 minutes later....my plate was not impressive. A handful of mixed greens, organic red bell pepper, overcooked, limp yellow squash, packaged shredded carrots and a cup of diced dry white chicken meat. No flavor whatsoever. There was no wine list available and my waiter didn't know the wines. On the pro side, my waiter was excellent and the wine was very good. read more

Very good salads and sandwiches make this a good pick for a quick lunch. The staff are really friendly. The desserts are really good- I had a cookie that was the best of my life. Also the housemade potato chips are great. The caprese sandwich is really fresh and can even last you a couple of lunches! Just a couple things though- the tri tip is a miss as it's a little tough/flavorless and the Chinese Chicken salad doesn't have much in the way of cabbage. read more

My fiancé and I have been here twice now. Their Cold house cocktails are amazing. The food is phenomenal as well. It's pretty pricey for dinner (we have not been for lunch yet) but it was well worth it. Service can be a little slow, so if you like faster service, this is not the place for you. My fiancé and I like to just hang out and visit with each other so it's perfect for us and the service, while it can be slow, is always friendly and welcoming. I just ordered their Greek salad, and it's all iceberg lettuce with absolutely no leafy greens. I might forgive this at a cheaper place, but expected better from a $10 salad. Also, they use pickled onions and sundried tomatoes instead of Kalamata olives, which I don't prefer. But even with that, green lettuce would've made it a LOT better. read more

Went here for lunch today and had the enchiladas and chicken Marbella both with tasteless rice. The waitress was great but the food was horrible. I think they probably microwaved it from the week before. The enchilada was literally smelly cheese with barely any chicken. I barely ate any of it (and I'm one to clean my plate). They make food from scratch!........They....Make ....Food...From .......Scratch. Quiche is our absolute favorite item to buy. flakey buttery crust and cheesy bacon goodness inside. We splurge on decadent baked goods like pan au chocolate and tarts that look like the came out of a movie. mmmmm...mmm..mmm. They are also the only store in modesto I can find indian spices, Mohini, real ground spices, very flavorful and great spices for brain function and health. I loved the grocery store and Greens table is our designated father/daughter or father/son bonding time, lunch and dessert or just dessert. Bacon on a stick is fun and relish , we mostly buy this treat at the local farmers market downtown. read more

This restaurant is closed until further notice. It does not say anywhere on the door of the restaurant or no one knows this when you call. They have an answering service who is not aware. It wasn't until I called 3 times in a week and started asking questions that it was figured out. I love this place! I tried it for the first time on my lunch break and will be back for dinner! I have been to Greens table on Bangs and figured I would give the downtown one as an alternative to a drive though. I was immediately greeted by safe I took a seat at the bar had the most amazing green iced tea that was worth returning for alone l. I placed my order and while I waited watched the server filling their own tea bags with a bag of loose leaf tea. The smell alone was amazing. I got my order (turkey on croissant with cranberry a sauce mayo and greens) the croissant with so flaky and buttery it melted in my mouth. The turkey was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Was very happy that there was not a ton of mayo on it I always have the problem when I order sandwiches they end up drowning it in mayo. The green salad was crisp full of fresh veggies and a wonderful house vinaigrette. I was very satisfied with my experience and will be returning for date night with my husband. read more

I had a delicious chicken burger from here. The chicken was succulent and filled with flavor! The only downside of this place was that I had to wait over 45 min (understandable since I was with 9 others), and that they have forgotten some toppings I added. All in all, the food is delicious, and the proportions are ok, but would suggest that they increase them a tad bit. The only disappointment I had was not being told that ordering a burger on whole wheat meant ordering on whole wheat bread, not on a whole wheat bun. read more
