Rating should be 0 stars. Village Cleaners ruined a practically new black & white top. Management was rude and would not accept responsibility or reply with the manager/owner's name. They tried to hide the damages by folding the top instead of hanging it properly on the hanger. I brought the ruined top with black and gray splotches on the area that used to be solid white to another dry cleaners. The manager at the other dry cleaners replied that Village Cleaners ruined the top and that the damages were clearly a result of improper cleaning practices at Village Cleaners. I took my beautiful down comforter to be cleaned here. I picked it up last week and paid $35 for it (!!!) I put it on my bed when I got home and that night I started seeing feathers flying around my head when I got in bed. There were about 20 small slices in the comforter! I took it back and they told me it was my fault, I shouldn't ever wash it. I told them I've never washed it, always took it to dry cleaners. Then they wouldn't refund my money saying "No guarantees!" I told them they'd just lost a client and walked out. read more

The worst dry cleaning experience I've ever had. I dropped off 2 dress shirts and one sport coat on a Tuesday, was promised they'd be completed by Friday. Nothing was ready on Friday and was told to come back in a few hours. Not only was my jacket missing one of the buttons, but both shirts were fried. The temperature of the iron ruined my shirts and they had to be thrown out. So disappointed in the service. The lady behind the counter spoke in broken English which got progressively worse when I asked her to find my missing button. Bottom line: I will never be back, nor recommend this dry cleaner to anyone. WARNING: Do NOT bring your dry cleaning to this establishment. I took two of my husband's shirts to be washed and ironed. I told the lady at the till that one of the shirts had some food stains on it. The first thing she said to me was that she could not guarantee that she could get the stain out. I asked her to mark the area where the stain was so they could pay attention to that area of the shirt. She refused to do so, said it wasn't necessary. I should have just taken the shirts back and found another cleaner. But I thought I would give them a chance. WRONG. The shirt came back with the same exact stains, not a bit of difference. I doubt that they ever paid the slightest bit of attention to the area I told them to look at. And I got to pay for it. That's the only time that these people will see my business. I never heard of a reliable cleaner who refused to pay attention to what the customer was telling them and then falling back on the old refrain, "we cannot guarantee we can get the stain out." I guess you can't guarantee you can get a stain out if you refuse to make a note of what the stain is and where it is located on the garment. read more

Picked up my order a few days ago. Removed plastic & yellow tabs as usual & hung my husband's shirts in the closet. A few days later he told me one of the shirts was not his! It was not a Van Heusen & like 3 sizes too small. Called the cleaners to let them know. Said nobody brought in the wrong shirt so far. Said ok & would stop in the next day. I did......TO NO AVAIL!!! Cleaners said since I removed the yellow tag they had no way of checking anything. Nobody had returned my shirt looking for their Joseph F Banks shirt. She did not offer any assistance like will call you if it turns up, refused to reimburse me the $35 cost of the shirt, refused to give me their business card, & I took the Joseph F Banks shirt with me because she did not want it!!!! BEWARE: STAY AWAY So I fall for the marketing ploys of "Organic" pretty much always. What can I say, I am a sucker for healthier living. They have a sign in the window "Organic Dry Cleaning" so I made a drop off of clothing. I bought my husband a gift; a brand name shirt. It was beautiful with designer buttons on it, not standard. He wore it one time and said he did not want me to wash it- so off to the cleaners it went. When I picked it up, I was horrified. Several buttons were just gone. I asked the woman by the counter what happened and she could not speak English, nor smile apparently, and she grumbled something like it wasn't their problem, it was the machine's. So I was fuming and told her how expensive and important it was, and practically new. So she said she will sew buttons on where they were missing, unlike every other cleaner who does not fix the buttons that they break "all the time" and she said she was doing me a favor because she is not responsible. At all. I just said fine, whatever, and left it for her to fix. I came to pick it up and I see they sewed on these pathetic white buttons, but I accepted, it would still work. Then I saw the shirt was re-pressed. I had just asked her to fix the buttons, it was not worn, but it was pressed again. To my horror, the other buttons that were the originals were gone as well. Unbeknownst to me, shortly after, my husband dropped off a pile of button down shirts. He came home furious. He looked at the shirts which were all worn 1 time, NEW! and they all had these yellow big streaks down the arms. He told the woman about them while he was there and she said it was not her problem, they came like that. They must of been stained. Obviously, they did not, and he could not have managed to stain them all the same way. No more. We are done. They should be reported. read more

Is there a way to give 0 stars? Greenspring/Village Cleaners is THE WORST client serving business that I have ever experienced in America. Not only did they ruin my expensive shirt but they didn't even bother apologizing or finding a compromise to fix the problem. What did I pay for??? (Also, they charge whatever they want, as they don't have price table/list anywhere in the store for the services). Not only did the manager not apologize or provide a refund, but she and her coworker walked away as we asked her questions as to how this could have happened to my shirt and how can the stain be removed / issue corrected. When we insisted to speak with the manager and her coworker again and complained once again as to why they would walk away without resolving the problem, they said "we are on lunch". Are you kidding me ??? It is pathetic excuse of a business! I am extremely disappointed that establishments such as Village Cleaners remain in business. Pikesville has a strong community, and I will not allow businesses with horrific customer service that ruin expensive products to remain in our community. I have never been treated in such a manner, and I will not settle until this issue is completely resolved. read more

One of the worst dry cleaners I've used. I have brought many dress shirts and pants there that are worse off when I return for them than when I leave them. Buttons are often gone, the shirt's too stiff, cuffs are worn out. When I asked the woman there why the buttons are often damaged, she answers "Sorry but we don't guarantee buttons and no one does". When I asked if they could at least sew back some buttons (and I even offered to even pay for the labor), she just looked away and repeated that they dont guarantee buttons. I have been using this place for more than a year since there wasn't a more convenient place for me, but they have ruined too many clothes and reached my limits. I will never go back there again. They are unfriendly, don't care for the customer, nor even want to try to please the customer. Horrible customer service. What kind of place is it if the clothes are worse off after they work on them than when they are brought in? Beware this place! I've lost many nice and expensive dress shirts and pants in this place. read more
