My wife has been a resident at The Lighthouse at Lincoln for a year now. She has received exceptional care and is very comfortable at the facility. The staff is so caring and attentive to all her needs. There is nothing harder than having to place your loved one in a memory care facility. In my case I held out for as long as I physically could before placing her in a memory facility. The first day you leave your loved one is very hard. You are never sure you have made the right decision. The staff at The Lighthouse at Lincoln made me feel very comfortable leaving my wife. They communicated with me that day as to how she was doing and for the next few days before I went back to visit her. The staff communicates on how my wife is doing with every visit. They are also concerned as to how I am doing. The most important part of leaving your loved one at a memory facility is how you as the caregiver feel. After a visit I feel very relieved knowing my wife is safe and well taken care of at The Lighthouse at Lincoln. Gary H

There was a handful of the staff that were pleasant but for the most part nobody cares. They're under staffed, the place is up for sale so the owner gives the bare minimum. It's so sad. I'm glad my uncle is out of there, I feel awful for the people who have to live there. I would never send anyone I love here.

From the moment she moved in, she was surrounded by warmth, friendship, and opportunity. The grounds are absolutely beautiful -- especially the peaceful wooded area in the back, where she enjoyed walking and spending quiet time in nature. Inside, the gathering spaces are inviting and thoughtfully designed, making it easy for residents to connect, relax, and feel at home. One of the things she appreciated most was how intellectually and socially engaging life at Laurelmead is. She looked forward to the regular educational talks, musical performances, movie nights, and the many activities that kept each week interesting and fulfilling. There was always something to enjoy, but never any pressure -- just a wonderful sense of community. The dining experience was another highlight. The dining room is lovely, and she genuinely enjoyed the wide variety of menu choices and the quality of the meals. Dining became a social event she looked forward to every day. Most importantly, she made deep and lasting friendships there. Laurelmead gave her not just a place to live, but a vibrant community where she felt connected, stimulated, and happy. The Highlands is an assisted-living facility populated by two groups of residents: a…read morehigh-functioning group, some of whom may need medical/personal. attention at some point but are in most respects independent, a wide range of less capable residents who eat most meals in the dining room, and a group who eat and stay in their rooms most of the time. There is also a large group in a segregated floor for those with dementia and memory loss. Very few if any of the residents are intellectually intact. The staff are polite and competent, some are excellent and dedicated, but turnover and absenteeism are high. Assisted showers are possible but the standard is at most once a week. The food is not the worst institutional fare I have ever had, but when combined with poor service and a toxic social atmosphere in the dining room the result is very poor. There have been at least a dozen cooks in my time, and none of them were capable of cooking a Brussels sprout . Waitstaff were nice but oblivious and untrained. The facility is clean and quiet .
