HOME BUYERS BEWARE. I purchased my first home this past November and used this company as my…read moreinspector. HomeTech Home Inspections told me in no uncertain terms that I am connected to city sewer. One month into owning my home, I find out I actually have a septic tank and that there is physically and literally NO possible way I could be connected to city sewer. How did I find out? The septic tank was completely full and the drain field failing. I have paid almost $1000 in repairs at this point, and need to pay an additional $8000 to get the drain field repaired. How could they get something so wrong? Great question. Turns out, the sellers home listing is enough for HomeTech Home Inspections to validate that you have city sewer. That is the method they used to tell me that I am connected to city sewer. That's right. I hired a company to validate the things the seller told me about the condition of the home, and they used the seller's word to validate it. Super cool. In the face of $9000 in repairs, I sought a refund from Home Tech Home inspections. Of the $1400 I paid HomeTech Home Inspections during my home buying process, they offered me only a $200 refund. Greg, the owner of HomeTech, told me that I should have known I had a specific tank going into buying the house. Thanks Greg! I agree! That's why I hired a home inspector. A lot of good that did me. To get something so fundamental wrong when your whole business is to tell people about their houses is crazy. I'm interested to see what else is going to come up while living here. Many people failed me in this experience but this one really just stands out.

We are glad that we did and Hometech Home Inspections did a great job. They were on time, respectful and found things we would have never thought of. They check everything in the house, one item was one shower had the hot and cold water connections reverse, a hole on top of roof, paint issues, oven door issue. I'd think long and hard before you decide to work with this company. Will can be very charismatic…read morebut charm only goes so far. I had a total of 4 inspections with him and 75% of them were total headaches. The first was the one and only one that went ok - the reason I chose to be a returning customer and pre-pay for the next cluster of inspections I'd need - something I never expected I would regret so much. The second inspection (a pre-drywall inspection) he missed because he went MIA and failed to communicate with me or the builder so he had to refund my money. The third he performed but I had to practically beg to get the report out of him before my walk-through of the house - it took a full week before I had it in hand. The final inspection - an 11-month check in prior to my home warranty expiring - was the worst experience of all. He came out and looked at the house, but I'm not sure he even did a report. For weeks I got excuses as to why he hadn't sent it over yet. Then, I was completely ignored with every call and text going unanswered. Mind you, there is only ONE number to reach him/the company through and the physical address goes to a post office so if he doesn't pick up, you're out of luck. Someone named Brent, who said he worked for Will, did get in touch using Will's work cell and said Will had fallen ill but he would never give me any other way to contact them except through that one number - a number which he too quit answering. He also wasn't able to access my report to send it to me. So, my warranty expired without ever receiving a report and it took more than two months of constantly following up to get a full refund. Save yourself the trouble and hire a legitimate inspector/inspection company because Will Ramey & Frontline Inspections definitely are not. No business I know would treat its customers - especially returning ones - this way. One mishap? Sure - but this was not a one-time thing and I would hate for anyone else to have to go through the frustration I've endured.

Since things were wrong/over exaggerated in our house inspection by this inspector, we had to go…read moreback and hire a pool pump expert, hvac and stove inspectors to refute his claims that those items were in disrepair. On top of that chaos, causing us lost time, money and effort for days, he put in the inspection report that our property needed landscaping! I've bought and sold several properties, never seeing that finding- particularly when we do have landscaping already. I guess our plant types and placement weren't to this inspector's liking!? At least as sellers we didn't have to pay for his inspection. I'd never hire this inspector.
