The staff is cordial and the volunteers were delightful to work with. The people who were there for meals were quite polite and appreciative. The entire facility is well run and there is an organic garden on site. Composting is carried on there with the excess food products. It's encouraging to find a well run, charitable organization with a mission for recycling and composting for the good of the community and the environment. Project Host Soup Kitchen is supported by donations in kind and monetary gifts as well. I was very impressed and will be volunteering again as soon as my schedule permits.

"The Home With A Heart is a non-profit organization that provides rehabilitation and hope at no charge to men seeking freedom from the bondage of alcohol and drugs through JESUS CHRIST One Day at a Time! Our eight-week program is based on the teachings of the Holy Bible and 12-step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous." From the road, this store looks worth checking out. (They have quite a bit of merchandise sitting in front of the store.) After checking that out I decided to go inside. There were a lot of men standing and blocking the entrance so I thought there might be another entrance but they moved when I asked if I was coming in the right way. Once inside I was a little disappointed. I don't mind getting dirty. If it's lots of stuff that doesn't bother me... I love to dig through junk to find a treasure! So the tightly packed small store didn't drive me away. However, the first thing that hit me was the store smelled bad. My second discovery was that none of the big items were priced. Quite a few people came and went while I was there. If I was near the other Home with a Heart stores I would stop and check them out. I probably won't visit this one again unless I want to do a DIY project and have the time to have someone price those items I'm interested in buying. Also it would have to be an item that could be sanitized.

They meet with the family and create a "memory" item for the children. It is tailored to the family and seems very personal in nature. A wonderful service. The rounder apparently one day started wondering if something happened to her, how her children would remember her. Currently it is local to SC Greenville / Spartanburg area. Over here in knitting! Feel like painting something? Right this way! I spent $24 and left with a massive bag of all kinds of things I needed, but only went in for thread! My sister and I stopped by this past Saturday and found some really nice stuff in the window display. Specifically a little Prada bag and a little coach wallet. I stepped inside and asked if we were allowed to purchase, which I was told the manager said they could not sell those items until Monday. Keep in mind, they are on display and they are all priced, but whatever. Then proceeded to go this morning, approximately 20 minutes after they open. Checking the window display and seeing the bag is NO LONGER THERE. I ask if I can purchase the items on display, when I am told that I cannot. That the woman that runs the window display (not the manager now!) will not be selling them until later this week, and she would be there tomorrow and I could come back if I wanted. I proceeded to remind her that she was the same girl I talked to on Saturday and that she told me I could come back to purchase them on Monday. I knew they had to be full of shit because anyone that has ever worked at thrift store knows that they want to rummage through everything before they sell it to the public, and I knew that's exactly what was happening. I then proceeded to get my mom to call and they tell her that we can purchase the clothing items, but not any products in the window display. At that point, it is not worth going back because it is now under poor management and people who can't be honest with you about the shit that they are selling. Do not display and price items and then try to say they aren't for sale!!! Then when I come back they're mysteriously gone??? ZERO STARS.

Rather they collect and donate to local relief agencies that in turn serve individuals. This is a small cog in a much larger machine.
