We bought from Lumber Liquidators and had the install from SW Contractors…read more Although the flooring material turned out to be a MESS.. (never will buy through LL again) Steve worked with us and tried to help us in our claim we filed against LL.. It was a perfect install, the material was bad. I appreciate Steve going above and beyond.

I had met with a few flooring companies before finally deciding on SW Contractors through Lumber…read moreLiquidators' third-party referral program. I was skeptical as they are the only contractors Lumber Liquidators refers to but I can understand why they maintain that referral relationship: SW Contractors are top notch. Our job was an involved one as we were ripping out tile and carpet throughout our downstairs and putting down hardwood in the kitchen, living, two closets, hallway, bathroom and entryway. Steve came to the house and was able to give a detailed (and pretty competitive) quote right then and there. We had some tight scheduling issues as I wanted the rest of the family out of the house for the install. Laura, the business/office manager, worked with me to get our project scheduled on exactly the days I needed. The crew of three arrived and immediately got to work. By mid-morning, they already had ALL the demo done! Jose, William and Eduardo were fast and meticulous - even taking extra (unexpected) steps to minimize the mess (which, if you've ever removed tile, you know there is a LOT of mess!) They hauled away all of their waste when they were done, too and even kept their work area neat between project days- something I didn't expect but really appreciated. I LOVE my new floor. We went with the taller baseboards as Steve recommended and the finished product is gorgeous, contemporary and SO clean! Laura was even helpful in getting some questions answered for me after the install was finished and emphasized that they would be more than happy to come take a look at anything should I have any concerns.

My service with them was a few years ago. We had them replace our kitchen floor that was tile. At…read morethe time I told them the subfloor should be replaced as it is not level which caused the tiles to crack. They explained they have a way of leveling the floor, when I asked if they would use self leveling compound the answer was yes. When they installed the floor of course they did not use that. Instead, they just used some compound where the subfloor was not level. As a result, the laminate floor cracked immediately. After spending about 2 months with corporate they agreed to rip up the floor and install a new subfloor (which I paid for, because I wanted it done to begin with) and put down a new floor. The new floor was not perfect, but it was acceptable. Then the floor started to break, after the warranty. I called and stated I knew the warranty was over and would pay to fix the bad parts. I sent them pictures. The manager called me back and said they wanted no part of fixing it. The bad boards could not just be ripped up and new ones put down, I would need a whole new floor again! I am writing today because this is a new one, see attached picture, this happens all the time to their floor. The laminate floor just breaks because it is cheaply made, and they have no clue how to level a floor before putting it down. Save your money, find a nice tile from Home Depot and have them recommend a vendor to install it for you. I will be replacing my kitchen floor a 3rd time because of them.

We moved to the Greenville area and were very excited to buy our home. The first item to upgrade…read morewas the old flooring. We spoke to salesman Jim Schlenker who is a nice enough guy but always seems too busy to really focus. We chose Riterug to install the upstairs luxury vinyl plank $$$, our new hardwood stair treads $$ and half of the downstairs with new solid oak wood flooring $$$$. In total about 2000 sq ft of flooring. A big job with a big cost. We have never bought flooring before so please read on to see the mistakes we made and hopefully learn a few things to look for. Lesson 1: NO break on price. Shop around! Our bad. Lesson 2: They said we had to purchase a $70 box of special screws?! WTF don't you guys supply these with the install? Lesson 3 Speed is not your friend!: They started upstairs and were fast! Too fast apparently. In one day they removed the old carpet, prepped and installed most of the vinyl flooring. Why is this bad you say? Moving that fast does not give anyone time to thoroughly inspect the underflooring. This resulted in some squeaky areas and a dip in our hallway that makes a hollow knocking sound every time you go upstairs! Lesson - It should be one day to remove and prep with no install until a good thorough walkthrough can be done before final flooring is put down. I will say they did put some floor float down in some areas but missed the big main one that created our dip. Lesson 4 The details: The doorway threshold molding does not fit/loose and the stairway top molding was never finished. Lesson 5 Don't pay (all) until the job is complete: Riterug policy is to pay up front. Acceptable if they stand by their word to make you a happy customer and complete the job. Lesson 6 Don't believe the warranty: We have asked them repeatedly to come and fix the issue but they have not. They have sent two guys out to look at it and they both said the same thing "they need to discuss with their supervisor" which now I know means we aint gonna fix it. The good. When they show up they are fast. They are clean. They are nice.

Antoine was quick to respond and was able to come out within a day or so of me asking for a quote…read more Antoine provided a quote that priced all the work separately, allowing us to choose the work scope that was within our budget. He was also flexible in additional requests we had along the way (like asking for a final glossy coat to finish the wood floors). I was originally going to replace carpet with LVP but found wood floors under the carpet! We chose to have the wood floors refinished and stained and they turned out fantastic! It looks like a completely new space. The job was scheduled within a few days and was completed on schedule. Included (for a fee) in the quote was assistance putting furniture back in the room which was helpful. I'd contact Antoine again for future flooring needs.

My expectations might have been too high because of all the great reviews. My experience was good,…read morebut not excellent. Let's start with the good - he did get most of the stains out and did a great job tightening up our carpet. He was also on time and easy to communicate with. The not-so-good: the main thing that irked me was that he put our furniture on top of our other furniture. This includes an air purifier that was on the dirty floor of our bedroom which was moved to be on top of our clean bed. He also put our tables on top of our couches. Not the cleanest method to clean. When I've hired Stanley Steamer before they come with 2 guys who move all the heavy furniture around and place everything on these pad-looking things. They never put things on top of things. They also ask you to move the smaller things out of the way. Also, he also wasn't able to get out of a couple of minor stains. I'd say he was about as expensive as Stanley Steamer, but not as effective. All and all, he was a nice guy but his methodology is questionable.
