Great Dr but his staff needs to do their job correctly and communicate. I'm still waiting for a medication to be called into the pharmacy.

Dr. Sobeck is indeed an exquisite orthopedic surgeon. However, he is unaware of the inefficiency of his Palmdale office staff.

Sobeck and him explaining my injury plus what procedure he was going to perform really made the visit a whole lot better.

Monica Rodriguez, surgical coordinator, is amazing. She made sure I understood what to expect and followed up with physical therapy orders. I don't need warm and fuzzy, but his lack of bedside manner was severe. He barely glanced at my x-ray to confirm I had arthritis in my right knee and rattled brief, perfunctory answers to my questions regarding surgery and other options. He seemed annoyed that I was even there. When I left the office after receiving my treatment, it was packed with patients and most of whom were standing, some on crutches, due to lack of seating. His office is an absolute unprofessional nightmare. I called multiple times to follow up a prescription that was supposed to be called into my pharmacy. I never got a call back or the prescription handled. When I was able to get a hold of a live person, I was only told another person handled that I would have to leave a message for her. I would never come back here and caution you to move on in your search for an orthopedic physician.

Dr.Root is always running late and will have me waiting either in the office or through tele-med. Aside from that, he's a nice person. Receptionists need to be more welcoming and friendly. I have had 15 surgeries in 12 years and have an aggressive autoimmune disease that requires pain management and injections and all manner of treatment options. The care and compassion are wonderful. If you live with chronic pain in the current climate, it can be impossible to get long-term help or get compassionate care. But Dr. Root will and can help. From spine shots and other options, they have an solution for almost every problem; this has been my experience. The office staff are helpful and wonderful -- they don't judge and do their best to understand and manage your needs. Also, they answer the phone; however, if they are busy and you leave a message, they WILL CALL YOU BACK -- a concept that is forgotten in many medical facilities. There are not enough kind words to explain how much they have helped me live a full and happy life beyond my condition. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Root and his magical team of marvelous and kind medical professionals (you know who you are :-)).

Decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Go with your gut. The entire office has 0 compassion. I had to change insurance and waited 2.5 months while on disability to see him. It was ending and he refused to sign my continuation...I had an appointment for disability at 8:30am, got a call the night before telling me he didn't want to see me until I saw another doctor in his office. Appointment was cancelled and I decided to go get all my records and paperwork. When I arrived his nurse came out and said, "oh Dr just got back from vacation, and we can see you soon if you want to wait." I just told her I'd like my paperwork and I said, "I already had an appointment today but you cancelled it." They are not consistent with their stories that they tell patients. They even made me pay for "filling out" disability paperwork prior to the appointment...and no refund. Read other reviews. It's definitely not just me. I wish I would have just contacted my insurance and refused this referral. Waste of almost 3 months, and I have no team for my 4 herniated/bulging discs and numb arms. Wish I never had to switch from my job insurance to medi-cal. My other surgeon and pain management doctor were fabulous, and their office was exceptional.
