So, if I could rate less than 1 star, I didn't hesitate! I don't know how it would be possible to be confident with screening ultrasound which is done in just 5 minutes? I really don't know how one could give him 5 star for only 5 minutes job! This is exactly what's happened to us: we went there twice, and both of them were just about 5 minutes! I took a clip from the time he stepped in to the time he stepped out..... not more than 7-8 minutes! and in his report, he stated that he was with patient for 15 minutes!!! Also he charged us 2 office visits and 2 ultrasounds for just one visit! 2nd screening should be taken a lot more cause they have to check most organs; hands, feet, spine, heart, lung, ..... and thats why it will take more than 20-30 minutes (Google it please); when I asked his front desk about really quick ultrasound, they said "Dr knows how much time he needs to spend with you, he knows when to spend more time to check all organs and when is not necessary to do it!" Really? so why he charged that much? Anyways, if you think 5 minutes screening is OK, if you wanna pay a lot for that, if you don't care about your baby's organs, just go with him.....OR better idea, why you wanna waste your time and spend money, just don't do anything because it won't be any difference between going there and just stay home! you will save a lot! read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. DeVore. I started seeing Dr. DeVore at his Pasadena office from the beginning of my pregnancy. He was extremely accurate with all of his predictions, he knew at 12 weeks from sight what gender my baby was! He was warm and friendly talking to my husband and I about his family and history. At 32 weeks my baby's heartrate was having some random dips and he and my OBGYN decided I needed to be admitted to the hospital. I was there for 5 weeks and Dr. DeVore visited me twice. He was very compassionate and understanding, explaining to me everything that was going on with my baby. I had VERY low fluid and my water had not broken. My experience with him was that of a caring and intelligent doctor who gave me and my baby the best care we could have hoped for. I 100% recommend Dr. DeVore! read more

I didn't know what to expect as this was my first experience, but I was immediately impressed by the welcoming and professional staff and services provided. The front desk receptionist and techs are lovely and very sweet. Dr. Aaron Epstein is very kind and considerate; he made me feel comfortable from the instant we began our appointment. Our baby was being shy and did not want to show their face at either appointment, but Dr. Epstein really wanted to send us away with some good photos, so he did everything he could to ensure we saw their little face. He is also incredibly reassuring and intelligent--he walked my husband and me through the process of what we were looking at and what it all meant. I had Dr DeVore with my first pregnancy in 2013 and LOVED him and his nurses. Never a bad experience at all. He was kind but also straight forward. My son had tested positive for trisomy 16 on one of my blood tests but he was fine. I admit the weeks leading to our reassurance while wondering how our baby was truly hard. Our Doctor was very amazing! He was thorough with every ultrasound and answered all of our questions! I continued to see Dr DeVore weekly starting at 30 weeks since my baby had a triple nuchal cord and I had low amniotic fluid. My baby is now a healthy 2 1/2 year old! Dr. DeVore and his team have been great for us. We have gone through a number of infertility treatments and even lost our first baby deep into the pregnancy. While the issue could not have been prevented, it should have been detected earlier by the doctors that we were seeing. Sadly it was not. So you can imagine our hesitation with and distrust of doctors for our second pregnancy. Dr. Devore and his team have been factual, prompt, knowledgable, and supportive. This is NOT the place to go if you want your hand held through the entire process and want to engage in small talk and exchange life stories. Horrible office. The office left a voicemail message to tell me information about the appointment, like things to make sure I bring. The message stated that no children are allowed in the office. I really don't understand why children are not allowed in the office considering you're there to see your child in utero. I feel like that's an inappropriate "rule" that only benefits the higher class who have the money to pay for a babysitter or for someone to watch your child. When I got to the doctor's office, they moved! There was no signage to tell you where the office went. Wouldn't you think that would've been a good thing to leave on the message they left???? WTF?!?! I was extremely angry because I paid for parking to go nowhere. I'm not an angry person, and trust me...it's not the hormones...I just don't tolerate stupid people. When I got to the doctor's office, they claimed that they've done everything to try to advise patients of the move. Dr. Devore is an absolute expert as a fetal specialist -- particularly in respect to cardiology. We were thrilled to find him when the military moved us across the country at 36 weeks pregnant, expecting a little boy with a complicated variation of Tetralogy of Fallot (CHD). Our hearts were immediately set at ease knowing that he would be overseeing our remaining prenatal care. This is good, necessary, and invaluable work that Dr. Devore provides. We found out about our son's critical heart condition at 20 weeks gestation, allowing us plenty of time to research and prepare for his birth. We have been through the tearful and uncertain doctors appointments. We've heard the concerns, and feared for our son's life more times than we can count. But, Dr. Devore (and others in his field) provided us with what we would not have otherwise: hope, along an army of resources and medical information/guidance to help our son. With a prenatal diagnosis, we had plenty of time to adjust to a "new normal": raising a child with a lifetime of cardiac needs, and vital information that positively affected his health after birth. Our sons birth was a joyful day, because we were not stricken with grief, but rather prepared and excited to care for him. We credit fetal specialists and the incredible CT Team at LA Children's Hospital for having our little boy thriving with us today. We returned today for a 20 week ultrasound appointment for our second son due this coming year, and specifically screen for the possibility of heart defects. Worst bedside manner, ice cold! Sept 2017 I went to him as I was pregnant with twins. I was only about 8 weeks pregnant and my OB was worried they were conjoined. She had me see Dr Devore as "he is the best" and "has the best equipment". It took me 5 yrs to get pregnant, so naturally we were over the moon about the pregnancy. I brought my friend with me, and her 5 week old baby. They refused to let her in the room as they have some bizarre concern about babies giving pregnant moms a disease...??? This was preposterous.We arranged someone to hold the baby so we could still do the appt. He started the ultrasound and said "no, not conjoined" we were overjoyed. He started to leave the room. I said "wait, can you check the heartbeats". He said "oh I didn't see any heartbeats"...WHAT? I was shocked, he sighed in annoyance, redid the ultrasound and said, "See look, no heartbeats" and tried to leave the room again. I stopped him and said, "wait, what does this mean". Again he sighed and said very fast "In the next 1-3 weeks you will have a miscarriage" and left the room. I was absolutely distraught. He was ice cold and the fact that he was originally going to leave the room knowing my babies had no heartbeat and not tell me!!! To what, let me find out from my other OB or by miscarriage? This point alone is absolutely unethical. This review is in no way exaggerated. He is not "the best", don't let your OB trick you into thinking you can only go to him. I would give him zero stars if I could. He is a monster. He told me I had uterine notching, which seemed strange because I didn't during my other two pregnancies. He put me on bed rest and scheduled multiple follow ups. He also detected an abnormality with the heart that led me straight into the waiting arms of his genetic counselor where my husband and I paid $250 out of pocket for a new test and were advised to get an amnio, which we declined. I felt less scared for my baby and more like I had been bamboozled so I scheduled a follow up and lo and behold. No uterine notching. In fact, the second doctor I went to at USC medical told me I had text book perfect arteries and no fetal abnormalities. Dr. Devore is out for profit and profit only. I'm sure if there is a serious problem he's your guy but if you are just going for a routine ultrasound AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. In my book he is no better than a low down criminal. read more

My partner and I were referred to Dr. De Vore for a slightly high AFT result. Prepare to wait 2-3 hours. The wait is Considerably longer than at most doctors. There is not ample seating. The chairs they do have are difficult to get in and out of, not comfortable whatsoever! Dr. De Vore, walked in, didn't introduce himself and began an ultrasound. He was not gentle. Please remind Dr.Devore he is dealing with a human. No small talk, not even "everything looks ok"- which it was. Overall not a warm and friendly staff. The medical service I received from DeVore (two ultrasound visits) was fine. I had no problem with DeVore as a person; his nurses were friendly and professional; and he gave me a clean bill of health both visits -- for me and for my baby. Ultrasounds were done at about 3mo and 4mo. I have heard and read numerous complaints that he is an alarmist and often diagnoses problems that aren't there, but that was not the case with us. What stunned us: upon arriving at our second visit, my husband and I checked with the receptionist about what this visit would cost. (We had decided that if it was going to be above a certain amount, we'd cancel the appt. and go elsewhere). We were told an amount of roughly $200, give or take a little, which we were fine with. A month later, our insurance was billed $990. This drained our remaining HRA funds dry, and the rest of my pregnancy appointments are being paid out of pocket because of this costly visit. We are disgusted that our second ulstrasound cost more than four times what we were told it would. I have called the doctor's office about this, but they have washed their hands of this error. Services were rendered; it's our problem. Lastly, at the 2nd appt., without being asked, we were given paperwork to sign (along with all the other stuff you sign) for "genetic counseling." I don't even know what this is, but we were not referred to DeVore by my OB-GYN so that we could get genetic counseling. We were there for an ultrasound. I don't like being sneakily required to sign up for extra services (with no cost communicated either!). We later discovered that simply speaking with the counselor would have cost us over $100. It's over $250 if you actually receive services. What a racket. Unless you have utterly fabulous insurance that pays for everything, and unless you want supposedly "Cadillac service" you may not need, I suggest you go elsewhere for your ultrasound services. And if, like us, you plan to bring your baby full term despite any abnormalities, it seems doubly unnecessary to pay so high a fee. I have no complaints about the ultrasound services. But we're $1,500 poorer after visiting this doctor twice. Considering that DeVore was in the room about ten minutes with us each time, he was definitely not worth what we ended up having to pay him. read more

Please please please don't waste your time/money with Dr.Devore.. My pregnancy was totally normal but he gave me immense amount of stress starting from 20weeks until 39weeks.. Instead of enjoying every minute of pregnancy I have spent crying and and wondering what have I done to go through this.. He diagonised my baby with pericardial effusion and stated that she might have DS..He was so cold that I started shivering and crying right there..He asked me to do Amnio which I refused,can't risk my pregnancy..I have spent my pregnancy crying almost everyday and have had nightmares until my baby was born.. She is absolutely healthy and is doing great and her pediatricians didn't see any problem with her heart or with anything.. she is just perfect.. I saw him almost every alternate week and always cried at my appointments.. and pericardial effusion was gone at 39weeks which was my last appointment with him..cheater..truly cheater.. one who gives you stress and drives you crazy at every visit..I wish I would have stopped seeing him.. He never answered my questions, he would just rush and come in,check me for 2 mins and his reports says that he has spent almost 15mins with patient..Really??? Office is always over crowded, wait time is 30-45mins..Agree that he has good equipment and gives CD and pic with every u/s but who cares about that when he bills $800 to your insurance for your visit??? read more

I have been to see Dr. Devore for two pregnancies. I have four children and two of them have heart defects--one of them very severe and has needed four open heart surgeries.. THere have been several comments that I have read, where people seem to be uninformed about what it is Dr. Devore is supposed to do. He is not here to comfort, or give false hope, or to chat all day. Seriously, if you have a problem that a Dr. will not remember your name....think of your baby. His main focus is to help you know what's going on with the baby inside of you and IF there is any way to prevent these problems from becoming big issued when they are born. My second child was born with a major heart defect--hypoplasti right Ventricle, DORV, dextrocardic, etc. I had two regular ultrasounds and none of this was detected. He almost died when he was less than 24 hours old, then again after his first open heart surgery, and then almost constantly for two months. He coded twice(had to be resuscitated) I would have loved to have known before hand and had the luxury of researching hospitals that could handle his condition. So after I had him, I was worried that all my kids might have something. My next pregnancy, I went to see Dr. Devore at 12 weeks. At that time, the baby had some fluid around the heart, putting pressure on the heart. He suggested bed rest and started me on a medication. That is what saved my baby. She had growing issues because of her heart. I did as he instructed, and she was born healthy and normal size. I saw him right up until the last week before I had my cesarian--knowing her heart was formed correctly and she was healthy. He also helped me in the medication he had me on in the first trimester to avoid pre eclampsia in the 3rd trimester. This practice has helped me avoid the high bloodpressure for two pregnancies. Dr. Devore IS the authority in this field. Ask anyone who does ultrasounds. They say he's "like a rock star in my field." Don't be fooled if you hear others say that they didn't like his bedside manners. Do you want to know what's up with your baby or not? It could mean their life. I highly recommend he and his staff--they are very good at what they do. Plus, they give you 3D pictures of your baby every time you go in, and a DVD of the whole ultrasound. read more

While pregnant, this doctor diagnosed that my baby had a heart issue which we later learned was absolutely false. It became clear that this false diagnosis was used by this doctor to overcharge my insurance company and myself for consultation services that consisted of nothing more than "how are you doing." When we received the bill, there were charges that even his billing office could not explain. This doctor is unethical motivated by greed. I do not recommend this doctor. read more

I was so disappointed with the services received with Dr. Devore. I have no problem with waiting to be seen, I understand that at times doctors offices get busy. What I am not ok with is that once I was placed in the ultrasound room, Dr. Devore was very quick. I was told by my OB that I would be getting a full ultrasound to check my babies heart, spine and overall body to make sure the baby was developing well. My baby was on her stomach so we could not see the heart but he did point out the spine. Then he asked that I should come back in two weeks. I figured that appointment was short because the baby was not positioned well. During my second appointment, I figured Dr. Devore would be more thorough. No that did not happen. After waiting for 35 minutes to be seen I was walked into the ultrasound room where Dr. Devore took the scanner, swiped it over my belly and then said "there's the heart". He did not look at the heart valves at all, nor did he do a thorough job. He then told me I was done. I couldn't believe it. I also got the genetic counseling done there and that was a waste of time and my insurance money. Seriously you can do the research on your own on the computer for free. My husband and I are both healthy but we wanted to see what genetic counseling was about. We met with a lady who asked us questions for about 3 minutes and then told us the risk factors for another 2 minutes. That was it. I was told that if my insurance did not cover the genetic counseling I could be charged up to $150....for those 5 minutes of my life. Such a waste of my insurance money! My husband was so confused he walked back and asked the lady if we should come in again with my blood information or my OB's medical notes but she said that she already did what the genetic counseling entailed. Seriously don't do it, waste of money. Since I am covered through Kaiser as well I decided to go there for a fetal ultrasound. I can honestly say that they did an excellent job. The ultrasound person there saw me for over an hour and went through all my baby's body parts and thoroughly looked at the heart valves and overall development to make sure the baby was fine. I felt so much better seeing it all. Overall, I think Dr. Devore is too busy and is not giving his patients the individual attention they deserve, especially for first time moms who have no idea what to expect. My first trimester screening was prompt, swift & easy. They are a well-oiled machine! Dr. DeVore is clearly masterful when it comes to neonatology, and his staff were professional and kind. Our experience with Dr. Devore was a complete opposite of some of the reviews on here. His office in Lancaster (though a tad bit small) is really nice and very well decorated. His equipment looks top notch and state of the art. The display screen for the ultrasound is huge, and although we didn't get awesome pictures of our baby (he was in breech presentation), it was still nice. The admitting staff can be kind of bland as others have mentioned but they were not rude and never unprofessional. After the ultrasound he took the time to talk to us about our baby and asked what his name was going to be. He also asked us if there was anything we would like him to explain further after each of our two visits. Maybe the previous reviewers just caught him on a bad day? It must be tough running different offices in multiple cities. read more

I was referred to Dr Devore's office by my OB. I can't rave enough about the Dr & Idella! They're wonderful! Each visit was VERY informative, thorough, & wasn't rushed. They took the time to address any question or concern I had. Complications arose at week 18 & had it not been for Dr Devore being as thorough as he is, I would have lost my pregnancy. He was the only one who thought to check what was going on rather than just dismissing my symptoms as "normal". His actions literally saved my pregnancy. My husband and I went to see Dr. DeVore in his Lancaster office one week ago for our NT scan. We arrived 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork and because I didn't want to be late. His waiting room is nicely decorated and makes you feel peaceful which helped me a lot since it was really nervous. We waited for maybe 10 minutes before being placed in the exam room or should I say suite. It had a huge screen for viewing exactly what the doctor was doing. The staff was great, polite, efficient and overall pleasant. When Dr. DeVore walked in he introduced himself and asked how we were doing. He then explained what he would be looking at and why it was important for us to see him on a regular basis after 16 weeks. He talked to us about risks with having twins and how he likes to catch any cervical changes early that could cause premature labor. The scan was amazing, we got some really great shots of the twins, we saw hearts beating away. The 3D/4D views were amazing and we got a copy of the whole ultrasound. After the scan he took interest in our occupation and seemed genuinely interested in us and the babies well being. He also discussed with us the first trimester blood screening that I needed to still do and the difference between the state sponsored one vs. materniT21 test. Overall we feel really confident going back to him in 3 weeks and for the rest of this pregnancy. He never talked down to us or pressured us to do further testing for no reason at all. I'm really surprised with the negative comments posted since I don't feel he treated us with anything less than respect. read more

I'm really not sure what all the poor reviews are about here. I went to Dr. Devore for a 2nd opinion on a spina bifida diagnosis. He was extremely thorough and though the initial diagnosis proved accurate, I left feeling like my questions were answered to the best of his ability, which has given my husband and I hope for the survival of our son. The ultrasound technology that Dr. Devore uses is top of the line and there is no mistaking what's on the images shown. I was impressed with Dr Devore's knowledge and professionalism. Some bad reviews complain about his personality being "dry" or impersonal but he's an ultrasound tech. He's not there to hold your hand and deliver information emotionally. All I want is accurate readings for genetic issues and he did a very in depth job with a thorough 3D sonogram. read more

Our wait from entering until we saw the doctor was close to 45 minutes and the place was PACKED. I would have given the doctor 3 or 4 stars because of this, but I'll explain why I gave him 5 stars below. After having 10 painfully aggressive vaginal ultrasounds in FL that left me bleeding and cramping bad, I was left traumatized and have since refused any and all vaginal exams, including ultrasounds. I explained this to the doctor and he worked EXTREMELY hard to get everything he needed through the abdominal ultrasound, which I know is difficult. This doctor was able to work with my request and still managed to get everything he needed. I look forward to seeing him in May for my 2nd ultrasound, to check on my baby's kidneys since I was born with 1 and the baby is at risk for bilateral renal agenesis or getting my condition (unilateral renal agenesis). Thank you so much doctor!! UPDATE: 2nd/Last appointment: (5/14) I met with Dr DeVore today. Again, I did NOT do the transvag ultrasound. This Dr was unable to do the cervical length on the belly ultrasound, due to my bump (before, he was able to maneuver the u/s much easier due to me still having a flat belly). He verified that the baby had 2 kidneys and we finally got to find out the gender (it's a boy!). Our wait today was about 30 minutes, for our 8am appointment, not bad at all considering this place is VERY thorough on their ultrasounds. I love that I get a DVD and pictures each time I've been here. They are all, staff included, very helpful, kind and understanding. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this center. They're beyond great! read more

I am a Registered Nurse, and have an HMO health plan. My OB/GYN referred me to this physician in order to have an amniocentesis done. When I got to the office, 15 min early for my appointment, I then had to wait approx 1 1/2 hours before being seen. In addition, the several people there ahead of me, and 4 people who came behind me (one of whom was a walk in, who wanted a simple ultrasound) went in long before I was called in. While in the back room, I was referred to as the "state patient" (the state was taking care of the amnio due to my high risk pregnancy). I'm assuming that label, which was rudely stated while I was in the room, was so the doc could differentiate between me and "paying" patients. The staff and the physician were cold, rude, and did not answer questions. The only person who was in any way courteous to me was the initial ultrasound tech. The physician then stated that my baby could possibly have a septal heart defect, and then indicated he thought I should have further extensive testing (costing several thousand dollars, and not paid for by my insurance), and that I needed a referral to a UCLA cardiologist for the baby. I actually had to question this, and stated to him that my understanding of this type of heart defect was that most repaired themselves prior to the baby's birth, and that there was surgical options to repair this issue after birth if it persisted. He agreed that was so, but still wanted me seen by his "consult" at UCLA. Now the final and worst part. He then prepared for the amniocentesis, which is an invasive procedure placing a needle into my abdomen to withdraw fluid for testing. This SHOULD BE a sterile procedure. He must have noticed I had major anxiety and took time to explain everything to me as well as reassure me everything looked great. Staff was pretty nice as well. so few weeks ago i had an appointment with Dr. DeVore, i was very upset that he was not very talkative and did not spend enough time with me. And i wrote a bad review , But today i met with my ob/gyn who actually explained me, that Dr. DeVore is great specialist, very knowledgeable and professional and his job was to check my baby and all explanation should be done by my primary ob/gyn . And he also told me that since my baby is ok , And fhere was no concerns , there was nothing to discuss , that is why he did not talk much. I do belive Dr. DeVore is professional whose opinion is reliable. Just a tip , when u go to the appointment be ready to wait about 40 min or more , And dont expect him be talkative and funny or so read more

I had an excellent experience with dr. Gregory Devore's office. my husband mind checking for 3 p.m. appointment at about 2:40 p.m. on October 27th 2015. There are about four other women waiting to be seen,. There were about for the women waiting to be seen, after checking in with the receptionist nurse we were given new patient paperwork and ask to sign if you form. I paid for my copay and did not have to give them the referral number again. We were brought back into one of the ultrasound room around 3:18 p.m. the nurse who was in charge of my room ask me if I could empty my bladder and then I got undressed waist down and waited for the doctor for about 5 more minutes. I've read some reviews that said that Dr Devore was impersonal or rushed the experience but to be honest I found him quite nice and personable once I started asking questions. One of the joys of an ultrasound is getting to see your baby on the screen and they have quite a large screen for parents to watch simultaneously as the doctor takes measurements. My husband and I were seriously impressed at the lavishneiss of his office and patient rooms as well as the equipment that he was using. The doctor told us everything that he was measuring and even showed us in 3d our baby's face. The doctor answer questions about my baby's heart and other things that I was concerned about. Dr. Devore is not my primary obstetrician but a specialist I was referred to because my first anatomy scan came out inconclusive. This review is long overdue! Dr. DeVore is amazing and is extremely educated and professional. I saw him for two pregnancies with my second being high risk. I looked forward to the ultrasounds with him more than any other prenatal appointment because he's so thorough and I always felt that as long as he felt confident that things looked good then they would be fine, easing my anxiety. He even had to come see me in the hospital twice for emergency ultrasounds when I was on bed rest- I honestly don't understand the negative comments on here because he made me feel very comfortable and secure not only in a very difficult hospital situation, but at every appointment. He is so busy because he is that good- I had multiple nurses and OBs in the hospital tell me he was by far the best in his field. He is a kind and very intelligent man and I feel lucky that I was able to be under his care. Thank you Dr. Devore!! read more

While I don't doubt that Dr DeVore is competent at what he does, his staff leaves a lot to be desired. I've had 3 ultrasounds performed by him and find his manner brusque and impersonal. His assistant, Adele, is unfriendly and downright rude. Unless your pregnancy is high risk, I'd consider going somewhere else. read more
