I have medical insurance and after going to three other dentists, was unable to get the care I needed in any kind of reasonable time frame, in addition to several of them not even taking the time to listen to my concerns... My tooth infection was not going to wait for prior authorization or for one to two months to even be scheduled... I was getting sicker by the week and was consistently told I essentially have no control over my own health care. I called Fusion Dental Implants and was immediately impressed by their empathy, their transparency as far as pricing, their sincere desire to help people and their understanding of the urgency one is facing when an ongoing infection is present and there is no solution in sight. The dentist and staff were attentive, offered advice and support and made me feel heard regarding getting dental treatment, even with all of my health challenges which is sadly rather rare in my experience. The entire staff is warm, welcoming, professional and incredibly skilled at what they do. I am a medically complex case regarding any kind of health care. I have dysautonomia which is a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system. My dysautonomia makes my reaction to many common, everyday things unpredictable and potentially scary and when it comes to anything out of the ordinary like numbing agents and trauma due to surgery, it can be terrifying to navigate. The morning of my appointment, after mentally preparing myself and following through with the plan we discussed, I was informed they were out of laughing gas and had no idea when it would be available. For a patient with serious dental anxiety, this was not a small inconvenience -- it was the entire reason I felt comfortable moving forward in the first place. Because the agreed-upon accommodations were no longer available, I had no choice but to cancel the procedure. While I did receive a refund, the way the situation was handled afterward felt dismissive and unprofessional. For a practice charging premium cosmetic dentistry prices, I expected far better communication, preparation, and compassion toward a patient placing that much trust in them.
